  1. Cracking bass you have there. Does it weigh the same as some of the Mexican versions - the weight of a small semi detached?
  2. I had a East in a Jazz a while back and it`s a great piece of kit. If he stuck his pre in a pedal, I would be in the que for one.
  3. "Sold as seen please study pictures well." I rather not if you don`t mind.
  4. A clip from Normans rare guitars talking about TH.
  5. I have a dvd recorded when they played T in the park in 2011 if I remember right. Great gig especially when Dave threw his black explorer and then tried to play it again and it was well gubbed. What a body of work, so many fantastic tunes, I only hope that after this tragic event they can return in some form.
  6. Well to be fair they did charge me £230 for a Squier Standard P bass and that was in 2001. I didn`t know any better.
  7. I remember seeing Sadowsky basses in Guitar guitar, must have been around 2008 ish and asking the sales guy who was going to pay £1200 for a bass? Changed days. And that bass is a cracker.
  8. When I bought my first bass from McCormack`s in Glasgow, I got a second hand 10 watt Epiphone amp to go with it. It was in another room from the till and when the guy at the till asked how much the other guy said it was to buy, I told him £50. It was a lie, the other guy said it was £60 so I done them out of a tenner. No wonder the shop shut!

Just completed a deal with Tony, top man to deal with! Thanks Gerry
  10. I would get the loud guitarist`s sorted out first. No need for this these days. If you are too loud, not only do you p*ss off punters and some venue owners but unless you use decent hearing protection, you will knacker your hearing. This last point is one of the most important things to do right from the start. My last band had 2 x Marshall 100 watt toting guitar players and it was murder trying to get them to turn down and now one of them has tinitus badly.
  11. Always have a bit of Dairy Milk or similar in the car for the journey home, it`s a life saver if you can`t find a 24 hour Mickey Dee`s on the way home at 1.30 am.
  12. When playing a hot sweaty rock gig, I always wear shorts as I nearly passed out from the heat whilst playing the Beat Generator in Dundee a few years back. Some fresh air round the leg area does me the world of good.
  13. The only time I have been really bricking it was the first gig I played in 2005. It was a charity gig but after that one I have been ok thanks to some comforting words from my drummer mate: Me "Aren`t you nervous?" Drummer "No!" Righty ho! Now I just have some nerves just before you hit the first song. I prefer playing to a decent sized crowd as you get a lot more energy from them and if they like you, there is no better feeling. But if I go into a shop to try a bass out, I`m useless and can`t wait to get the heck out of there.
  14. Just completed another sale with Craig. Top man to deal with! Thanks

  16. Well spotted! The correct weight is 3.7 kg but the 8.3 lb`s was correct. Sorry for any confusion.
  17. They are an exc example of a P bass and cheaper than a CV Squier. I have a Musicman Sterling to pay for and a few other P basses in hareem so this one is the best looking and hopefully should sell soon. For a second opinion check out Lobster`s review.
  18. I think the most I have spent is £1300 but I have also bought Harley Benton`s at £100 and all price points in between so just whatever takes my fancy at the time. I just bought a US MM Sterling and that was £1100. One of the reasons I bought this was the price of new and second hand Musicman`s are just getting silly now and I had always fancied a Sterling.
  19. For 5 years our acdc tribute was fronted by a lady which was quite handy as she could hit all of Bon Scott`s notes. She also sang the lyrics as if it was from the guy`s point of view which was a bit weird sometimes. But the punters loved her and she was really good. She never helped with the setting up and at times she could be hard work but you gotta expect that form the singer sometimes
  20. And there just happens to be a as new P 5 for sale on here saving £80 off the new price...
  21. I would go for the JB 75 as they get a good rep especially for the price you pay. The thing that has put me off buying one is they can be heavy but if you can live with that I would go for the 75. I fancied getting one and throwing some upgrades at it, bridge, tuners, just stuff that I would do to a Squier.
