  1. Agreed. I wold have thought £350 -400 max. There is a guy on Gumtree from Edinburgh wants £695 and £795 for 2 Westones I bought a Thunder 1 for £50 from Crack converters 10 years ago.
  2. McCormacs in Glasgow used to sell these. Cheapo crapo.
  3. This thread must have an old Jedi mind trick going on. I`m sitting here with some paypal cash and money for my birthday, not a lot but new Squier cash for example. And I can`t find anything to spend it on, nothing is grabbing me saying "buy me, buy me!" Bass, amp, bits and pieces, nothing is doing if for me. The wife thinks it my age. I think we should start another topic where we can tell this topic to shove it where the sun don`t shine and spend, spend, spend!!
  4. I was talking to my drummer mate and he said that the female singer in his pub band had left after kicking up a fuss about the fact that they were getting between £250 - £300 a gig in the Glasgow area. She left shortly after and they replaced her with a better male singer. She is now sitting in the house twidiling her thumbs. The last pub gig I did was 3 years ago and the money varied from £170 to £300. The way things are with so many pubs closing or not bothering to do live music now, I would be happy to get £250 between us or £50 each to have a blast on a Saturday night.
  5. I haven`t the fogiest what that is or what it does but that looks cool as. I would buy that just to sit on a shelf as a conversation piece.

Alan bought a pedal from me, nice smooth deal. Ta!
  7. I got him to set up a P bass years back and it came back worse. But hey, everyone else seems to have a positive experience so maybe a one off. Aye Tollcross but the truck driver in me considers it just off the motorway
  8. I crumbled and bought a Sadowsky pre amp but I blame @Thunderbird as he was looking for a simple pre amp I also returned the Gnome amp I bought so I reckon that`s a 2 for 1, so a QC says that I`m ok!
  9. I know we all have different experiences but I had a bad time with Jimmy Egypt`s a few years back when he was in CC music. Since then I have used Strung out guitars. Just off the motorway with a car park across the road. Louise who is one of the owners, talked me out of doing some unnecessary work one time doing herself out of some business so I trust them.
  10. This was on hold but the buyer has vanished and I forgot to bump it and it got locked, so re posted. I bought this recently but I`m never going to use it as no gigs on the horizon and I sold the head that I was gonna use this with. Really good condition just a small scratch on one of the corner protectors. I have the box so can post to UK only for £230 or if you can collect I will knock off the postage. Specs Size: 520mm (H) x 505mm (W) x 345mm (D) Weight: 17kg Watts: 300 Impedance: 8 Ohms Speakers: 1 x 15" BLUE LINE PRO NEO Horn: 3 Way Variable HF Driver
  11. Ampeg the poster was last seen 8 years ago but he has prob just popped out for some milk and will be back soon. Or maybe not....
  12. I agree with you. They have sorted me out before and asked for no payment, I have used their products for years and will do so in the future. I am not having a pop at them in my above post but what I wrote is true and in the future I will buy their products from a UK based shop.
  13. Be aware that if you buy an amp from this mob (or any of the other Euro box shifters) that if it goes wrong, you will have to send it back to the shop in Germany as the Ashdown 5 year warranty is not applicable as it wasn`t bought in the UK. Ashdown may look at it for you but they are under no obligation to do so or repair. Just a word of caution from one who knows. Having said that, if you contact the shop in Germany, they will more than likely tell you to send it to Ashdown but they might have to arrange it with Ashdown.
  14. One of the simplest but best is the Sadowsky SBP 2. Just volume, bass and treble but it is the same pre amp you get in their basses. Just £91 delivered from Thomann. I had the SBP 1 version with the xlr out and should never have sold it. Damm it, gonna buy one right now
  15. TC Spark booster pedal. Great wee pedal. As new condition, it had some velcro on the back but I have removed this. £33 posted UK mainland or £30 collected from Paisley.
  16. I spoke to him a few months back re a possible sale and he is indeed alive and well. Well he was then!
  17. I tried to get one a few months back but there was none to be had. Apparently they are having the now usual problems, pandemic, shipping etc.
  18. I wonder what became of @OutToPlayJazz and @icastle. Just 2 I can think of off the top of my head. But I suppose some people just get fed up and move on. OTPJ was a great source of wisdom.
  19. Lovely finish and great price inc postage. GLWTS
  20. Well the Warwick Gnome arrived today exactly in the DPD time window. Whoopeee!! Opened it up and found a Euro 2 pin cable and plug. Boooo!! I believe thats its illegal to sell an item for UK use and not supply a 3 pin UK plug so have sent off a rather terse e mail to Andertons to get it sorted. I know this happens with Thomann but they usually supply a adaptor or the correct cable. Normally it wouldn`t be a problem but due to some coming`s and going`s I don`t have one.
