Thanks for that. Just to confirm something. The hard case included if you need the bass posting will be a new G4Music hard case. It is intended to protect the bass in transit only. It is brand new and if the courier doesn`t knock the sh*t out of it you can use it for many years I suspect. You aren`t being charged for the cost of the case. Most Sandbergs come only with a gig bag as standard.Ta.

I don`t know whats all the fuss is about. They sold me a cracker of a Funder P bass last year!
-
If it is just for recording, I wouldn`t. That P Tonerider pickup is great. In fact I would gig it the way it is just now. Apart form the covers, especially the one over the bridge which is a Jazz bass cover.

It`s a shame that they didn`t get Jet back to play on a couple of tracks when they did their last tour with Cliff. I know there was a bit of bad blood but it would have been nice. Also, I don`t think that Bruce is in any hurry to return Cliff`s strat...

If I remember right he stopped using the Ric as it didn`t have enough bottom end, ooer missus! In the same interview, he also mentioned getting one of his old P basses down from the loft and couldnt believe how heavy they were. Haven`t a clue about which bass he used on what song but I just remembered the above. Off to listen to News of the world now!

They are gone baby! And no wonder at almost half price. And the combo has jumped in price to £395. Still a good bit cheaper than a Rumble 500 if you are in the market for similar.

The G&L LB100 Tribute is a great P bass but mine is a bit heavy defo 9.5 lb ish.

Some right good deals on Ashdown Rm cabs and combo`s at Thomman right now. £150 for a 2 x 10 and slightly less for the 1 x 15? The 1 x 15 RM 500 combo for £350? Might be old stock but it`s a great deal for someone. I dont need any more gear but it`s tempting...

I got a white one (even though I said I wouldn`t get another short scale!) a few weeks ago. Plus points: mine is super light, the lightest bass I have owned, the fit and finish is nice, no sharp fret ends which is good at the price point. Negatives: the stock tuners are crap, they feel like they were made of butter. I hate cheap tuners so changed them for a set of Kluson Vintage ones which are better. But the original tuners might be okay for somebody else, I`m just fussy. The output from the pickups is quite low and I will try and raise the pickups a tad see if that improves things. Overall a well made bass for the price.

I spotted that on the Saturday and at £1150 I though they had made a mistake with the price. It looks better in your photo`s. Good score!

To be fair, there is a Royal Mail depot in Springburn Glasgow that could and does at Christmas time, hold dozens of trailers. I imagine that the same would be true of other large depots.

The neck on the NM is one that Fender only did for a couple of years in about 71 if I remember right. Don`t have any idea where you could get one the same profile, maybe get one from the Stratosphere on E bay but I think they can be pricey. Or get a tech to mod a existing neck to the same shape, providing you have a spec for the NM neck? It is my favourite neck shape by far for a P bass.

Hi mate. What is your budget? And will you be wanting to play through a practice amp at home or some kind of headphone/quiet set up. Once we know this you will be bombarded with all our favourites!

When Do You Think Your Band Will Start Gigging Again ?

Now where did I put that bit of string of indeterminate length....... -
Phaw! Call that an on board eq? Lightweight

They seem to be out of stock on loads of things but if it`s in stock, it seems to be business as usual. Got a set of tuners in a few days.

This.... 350 odd watts on it`s own, 500 with an extension cab. Had one and like a fool sold.......... you know the rest

Who started playing bass with no inspiration at all?
jezzaboy replied to adamg67's topic in General Discussion
I have always been a big music fan and whilst the idea of playing the guitar seemed tempting, I hadn`t done anything about it. I get to 34 and find out a guy who used to do work for my company played guitar and we got talking and it made me want to learn to play 6 string guitar. Got an Argos special Encore and amp but found out that due to an old injury when I fractured my left pinky finger, I couldnt form the chord shapes. By now I was keen to learn so the guy suggested getting a bass. I had always loved Pete Way and so I thought I would give it a try. 20 years, a few bands and loads of basses later I`m still trying! -
Is that the best hair doo for metal? There is something rather cool looking about that Hamer with the trem.
-
Spot on. I was liking the build until he started carving the poo out of the body with those chisels. What posses people to do stuff like that? Still he has form. Anyone see the Tele style guitars in GG a couple of year ago that was basically 2 bits of knackered, sorry tone wood, with steel rods holding it together Still what do I know? He is an expert guitar builder and I`m mediocre bass player!
-
Nah it will be fine.

I have a TC Polytune clip on and sometimes it has a problem with the E string so I usually use the fifth fret A to tune this. I just use this in the house or as a back up on a gig. I had a TU 3 but it used to bounce about like the clappers so sold it to guitar boy and bought a Korg Pitchblack which I find much better. Maybe you can alter the setting of the Boss as it seems to be one of the most popular ones but it used to drive me mad on a gig. Now it drives guitar boy mad but it`s all good

So, just how many basses do you own ????
