  1. I had one I got form here. Weighed a lot but sounded great.
  2. Such a good bass player, Elton sacked him. Twice! There is some ex stuff from the BBC when it was just the 3 of them on Ya Tube.
  3. That looks really nice with the black guard.
  4. Cheers for the heads up re the book. But I bought it for the Kindle as it`s my preferred way of reading but the book format doesn`t transfer to the Kindle very well so I will return the electronic copy and buy the book.
  5. I reckon the black strat and no: 1 will go for way more than the estimate. I can hear Joe Bonamasa raiding his piggy bank right now! It is a very noble thing he is doing especially as the guitars must mean a lot to him. And the fact that they were used to play some of the most iconic music ever made just ups the ante.
  6. G & L L2000 Tribute. 44 mm and a big handful of neck!
  7. How about the Comfort Straps that bassdirect sell?
  8. I thought the program was pretty poor to be honest. Seemed to spend a lot of time on doo wop and upright bass and never really mentioned the P bass which started off the whole solid body game.
  9. Designed to reduce the weight from your rig, but not from your tone, Mi series cabs are compact, road-ready enclosures that punch well above their weight. Weighing just 16 kg (35.3 Lbs), the Ashdown Mi 12 features a single 12" driver and tuned 1" tweeter to deliver 250W of full-bodied bass tone. Cab for sale only, a few scuffs on the tolex, nothing to serious but this is reflected in the price. Ideal for monitoring, small gigs, home use or adding to a combo to get the full power from your amp. Collection from Paisley only or local meet up. ***NOW SOLD***

Just sorted out a trade with Stevie. Top man to deal with and chat to. Thanks!
  11. I have a set of DAddario`s and they are 50, 70, 85, 105, EXL160s. No floppy problems here, oohh errr Mrs!
  12. Guitar you say? Never heard of them....
  13. Hey mate. I play in an acdc covers band and just played the Hard rock last Friday through Shock city productions. They have bands on there almost every Friday night. They looked after us well. Maybe give them a shout when you are up and running? We don`t really look like the band: I gotta wear glasses as I can`t see my hand in front of my face without them and we have a female singer that doesn`t look a bit like Bon! We do have an Angus with a school uniform though! We concentrate more on creating the songs as the band played them. We used to do pubs where we sometimes died on our derrière but now do about 1 gig a month but they are more tailored to a target audience. We are supporting Brian Downeys Live and dangerous next month in Prestwick then playing Bonfest later on in the year up in Kirremuir.
  14. I think you are talking about the long scale Jag NewF? The short scale as far as I know is only passive?
  15. One with Rory and Gerry McAvoy.
  16. I have owned a SS Jag and very nice it was to. Stock, it played nice, spent a few quid on tuners and a bridge but kept the original pickups and it was a cracking little bass. Should have kept it but hey ho. If you have played the Squier, I would go with it as they can range form dreadful to great and you seem to like it. There is a large thread on the Jag on a US bass forum
  17. The worst one I can recall was a drummer who played a Town called malice 3 times and he played it different each time. He then told me I was doing it wrong so I played it by myself note perfect just to show him but to no avail. As was said earlier, the longest 10 mins is when you are packing up your gear after having words with 4 other guys who know they are right!
  18. Played the Hard rock cafe in Glasgow last night. First time in there and the staff and the promoters, Shock city, looked after us very well. Free soft drinks, a meal, great sound guy and the place was full. Only drawback is it`s in the pedestrian part of the town and there is no back way in so we had to park the car and move the gear with hand barrows. And the parking is a nightmare. But you have to expect that in the middle of the city. Used my new Sandberg and was well impressed. This was our first gig for the promoters and they were so happy they payed us an extra £100!! And they will get us more and bigger gigs in the future.
  19. I sold one of these to a guy from the Dundee area a few years back and met him at the SECC when he went to see LS so just thought I`d ask. These are cracking basses and this is the best colour combo. GLWTS!
  20. Nice to hear of the good side of retail sometimes. Glad you are happy with the deal!
  21. Hi Shawman. Might be a daft question but did you buy this G&L whilst in Glasgow seeing Lynard Skynard? If not have a bump on me.
  22. It`s having a wee snooze.
  23. If you like the OLP, a secondhand MM from here will be dinky. There are some nice ones for a grand or under. Especially that black and maple jobbie.
