1. Excellent stuff. You can get this session along with some other performances, on a dvd called Free Forever.
2. Live wire by ac/dc. We open the set with this one and never tire of playing it. Even if the drummer plays it a bit slow
3. At £600 that is a bit of a steal. I owned a few L2000 Tributes and they were good, so I imagine the US one will be tickety boo!
4.
Our drummer carries a fruit and vegetable selection - for situations such.
Now I know where I have been going wrong all these years! I have been in a similar position. I play in an ac/dc covers band and at a recent gig was asked if we would do a guys party as he said we were "fantastic!" What kind of music does he want at his party? All the popular ac/dc stuff, Angels, Summer of 69, Dakota etc.
5. What?? No Dick Parry??
6. Good program on the whole but the picture quality and the quality of the clips they show, leave a lot to be desired in this HD picture age.
7. The Tea Gardens in Paisley gets my vote. Big Shug has bands on every weekend and although it`s slap bang on a main road, surrounded by tenement flats, usually tells us to crank up the volume a bit. It`s a small pub but is always busy with punters who come to hear the music which makes all the difference to me. It`s nice to feel appreciated.
8. Don`t mind wear and tear but dirt, no thanks. What amazes me even more, is when someone put a bass up for sale and it`s dusty or dirty. Puts me right off.
9. I recently got one of these myself. I tried all the Fenders in the same price range and this one was the one that won my heart But when I got it home, my wife said that the body finish was chipped and I should return it for a mint one. After explaining to her several times the concept of a relic, I still don`t think she gets it I`m not really a big Foo fan but this is just a great P bass, except for the new style Fender bridge that was binned almost right away for the BBOT.
10. If I was spending the money you seem to be talking about spending, wouldn`t you be better going to a UK based dealer and trying the thing out for a couple of hours? Take your own amp as well, Im sure they would be quite happy to let you have a play with it. I wouldn`t take the chance spending a lot of cash for a bass that I haven`t seen or played, even with distance selling regs.
11. G&L L2000 Tribute has 42 different possible settings if I remember correctly. As Swiss as a Toblerone, which I have never tasted.
12. Thats a pity. They look so much better than the off the shelf ones you can buy. Ta.
13. Really nice with the maple neck. I had a black one a few years ago that I put a Status pickup and new tuners and bridge on and it was a great bass. Nice and light unlike the boat anchor Mexican one. Where did you get the small thumb rest from?
14. A statement from Alan White: "It's certainly going to be hard without him, but he called me and asked me to keep everything going regardless of what happens. So absolutely we're moving ahead. I'm gonna do it for him
15. Noel G was the best bit for me. The guy has so many songs that he can pull out that were hits, perfect for a festival. Decent band as well.
16. Is there not a version of Creedence touring with 2 of the original members but no John Fogerty? To me, that seems wrong. Yes without Jon Anderson? Thats wrong as well. If Billy Sherwood or someone similar takes over, I don`t see any reason why they won`t continue. The band have proved in the past that no one is irreplaceable.
17. I knew he was fighting an aggressive form of cancer but this is very sad news. Im not really a big Yes fan but I have respect for the body of work and the man himself. 67 is not old age these days
18. Lots of pics in the photobucket link type bump.
19. I thought the best bit was the drum solo I think old Lem is on his last legs but still a rock star.
20. Just completed a sale with Bilko. No messing, good coms and prompt payment. Thanks
21. Up for sale only is my VM 77 Jazz. Bought this earlier this year but due to a recent purchase, I need to move a few things on. Going for the black look, it has a Wilkinson bridge, Wilkinson tuners (not the smoothest but do the job fine), black control plate and P style knobs. The original plate and knobs will be included, the other parts are gone. The body and neck are in great condition, just a few "swirls" on the back but none visable unless close up. The neckplate is a bit scuffed and I have no idea how it happened. There is a bit of the brass finish showing through on the bridge plate, see photo. Nothing serious but I like to mention these things. Weight is around 9lb. The thing that sold me on this bass, is the neck. It looks really good with the white blocks and the gloss finish. It is fitted with newish Fender strings. Looking for £170 collected/localish meet up Glasgow/Central Jockland. Can post for £20 through Interparcel, mainland Uk only. No trades please.
22. Don`t know what to price this at as I havent seen any for sale. How does £35 collected and £38 delivered sound?
23. I think this is the below Affinity range. £99 brand new from guitarguitar. Never played or seen one so can`t really comment. http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars_detail.asp?stock=15031310503332
