1. Up for sale only is my VM 77 Jazz. Bought this earlier this year but due to a recent purchase, I need to move a few things on. Going for the black look, it has a Wilkinson bridge, Wilkinson tuners (not the smoothest but do the job fine), black control plate and P style knobs. The original plate and knobs will be included, the other parts are gone. The body and neck are in great condition, just a few "swirls" on the back but none visable unless close up. The neckplate is a bit scuffed and I have no idea how it happened. There is a bit of the brass finish showing through on the bridge plate, see photo. Nothing serious but I like to mention these things. Weight is around 9lb. The thing that sold me on this bass, is the neck. It looks really good with the white blocks and the gloss finish. It is fitted with newish Fender strings. Looking for £170 collected/localish meet up Glasgow/Central Jockland. Can post for £20 through Interparcel, mainland Uk only. No trades please.
2. Don`t know what to price this at as I havent seen any for sale. How does £35 collected and £38 delivered sound?
3. I think this is the below Affinity range. £99 brand new from guitarguitar. Never played or seen one so can`t really comment. http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars_detail.asp?stock=15031310503332
4. For sale a brand new Fender Hi Mass bridge that has replaced the Baddass 2 on sig models. This is from a brand new Nate Mendel P bass. It will come with a set of screws and an alan key that fits. Unlike the one that came with the bass that doesnt! This does the same job that the Baddass 2 did. I prefer the look of the BBOT. Looking for £35 collected/meet up from Paisley/Glasgow or will post for £38.
5. This bass has been withdrawn. Im not sure that the small splits in the headstock are stable so in case they aint, Im gonna keep it and use it as a back up. Still a great sounding bass though.
6. Joe 90. The begining and end titles. Barry Gray at his finest.
7. Ive had 3 tribute 4 string basses and never had a problem with the truss rod. Now the size of the necks, thats a different issue!
8. Sale has fallen through, so the bass is available again.
9.
Do these still have actual Badass bridges or a Fender version?
The new ones have a Fender bridge but it is similar to the Badass. Great basses, just got myself one.
10. Yamaha BB1100S, made in Japan in 86. I bought this last July from MrMcgoo of this fine parish and it is a superb bass but due to a recent purchase, this must be moved on. As far as I can tell, everything on the bass is original. The photos show Schaller straplocks but I will put the ones that came with the bass back on. Active/passive, 3 band eq, newish d`darrio round wounds fitted. Weight is around 8 3/4 pounds and it is 43mm at the nut. There are a couple of cracks, the worst one on the body and one on the headstock. They have not gotten any worse since I have owned and gigged it and the previous owner reckoned they had been there for years. There is some other dings on the body and at the end of the headstock but it has been gigged for nearly 30 years and is "roadworn" so please dont expect a pristine instrument. A good condition version of this goes for £300 + but due to the condition (which in no way effects it playability) I am looking for £240 collected. Postage could be arranged but would be extra, UK only. I would much rather collection/meet up in the Central Scotland area so you could check it out yourself. The only trade I would be interested in would be a bass head of similar value. Any questions, ask away. Link to the previous sale below. 11. Sod it. I`m gonna keep a hold of it.
12. Got one of these a few months ago. Have used it twice and doubt I will use it again as I have my B2 plugged in most times and the tuner on this does the job for me. In mint condition and original box but I don`t know what I did with the instructions but they are on line anyway. Looking for £40 collected/meet up from the Glasgow area. Don`t know about posting as the postage would be on top and then it doesnt seem as good a deal then?
13. Don`t know if this has been posted yet. https://youtu.be/8Xd5HIQU3nM
14. Right, need shot of this. This cost me £75 so how does £30 collected sound? It is like brand new. Im on holiday this week so collection from Paisley or local meet up.
15. Ta mate, just what I want to hear
16. I had a Status P bass pickup that I put in a Mike Dirnt Squier bass a few years ago and it was nice.
17. Never mind the hair doo, it`s these bloomin eyebrows that get me. You would think that someone would have said.
18. I like how at the bottom of their advert, it says "Please contact us ASAP if their are any issues that need resolving." I imagine "The Dark Lord" or his associates will be contacting them shortly with a writ on hand...
19. Just ordered one of these from Amazon. Going to use it into the effects return of my Ashdown and get all my eq from the pedal. Any one else use it this way and have you any tips? I play in an acdc covers band so looking for some rock and even some roll!
20. Looking at your gear list Bob, your Fenders are basses that most of us on here would be more than happy to play on any gig. It seems a strange thing for you tutor to say but if it works for you, more power to ya.
21. Cozy was, and still is, my all time fav drummer. Good to see kudos going his way.
22.
Did you play SH bass?
Nah. The neck is too wide for me and I hate those rotosound strings that Steve uses.
23. Price drop. £40 collected.
24.
Oh, absolutely! But, if I want something that's hard to find, I'm willing to compromise a bit when I do find it. The fix is not much harder than changing the strings. Would you pass on a bass you really wanted because the action wasn't set to your liking? Of course, you can use it as a bargaining point and might save some £££
I would like to point out that having visited GG the other day, the bass now looks fine. The only problem was I walked out with a Nate Mendel P bass!
