  1. Forgot about this. Weight is 4.2 kg or 9.2 lbs Now £80 collected/local meet up.
  2. For sale only a Harley Benton PJ-4 SBK Deluxe Bass Guitar. Bought a couple of months ago to use as a back up but now not required. These sell for £132 delivered but I will take £85 collected from Paisley or local meet up. The bass is in vgc and has had a better set of strings fitted. Specs Body: Basswood Bolt-on neck: Maple Fingerboard: Roseacer Dot fretboard inlays Neck profile: modern C Double-Action truss rod Nut width: 42 mm Scale: 864 mm Frets: 20 Pickups: J-style single coil (bridge) and P-style split coil (middle) 2 Volume controls 1 Tone control Black hardware PJ-style machine heads Original strings: .045 - .105 Colour: Matte Black
  3. At the moment I use: Ashdown ABM 500 EVO 3 ABM Mini 15 ABM Mini 4 x 8 All the above acquired from @DGBass of this parish. To be honest, the 4 x 8 is blooming heavy and not any good for my band on it`s own, it really needs to be paired with the 15 so in the future I am going to look for a 1 cab solution. Round and round we go... I also have a RCF 715 that can be used for monitoring or on it`s own for small pub gigs.
  4. The Harley Benton PJ 4 SBK Deluxe is a great bass at £132 delivered. Just a few sharp fret ends but the one I got plays great and the satin black finish is really nice.
  5. At the moment I`m gassing for a Epi T bird vintage pro. Even though I have owned a few T birds in the past and I`m not keen on the way they hang on me. But just got a smallish tax rebate and they look so damm cool so maybe I will give into temptation!
  6. I`m glad you found some replacements as I tried to order a tuner from their online shop only to discover they don`t ship to the UK due to us not being in the EU. I had to order it through the UK importer, then I had to wait until they were getting a shipment of basses as they wouldn`t order the part on it`s own. Madness!
  7. This is the one I have. Also great to plug into a FRFR speaker set up.
  8. If you plug in a ART mic pre amp or similar, this will drive the amp, runs on a wall wart so plenty of oomph. I had a Crown and had the same issue with a pre amp pedal, might have been the MXR and it couldn`t drive the Crown even on the lower setting you mention. I already had the ART and it worked a treat.
  9. What a stupid question to ask
  10. Up for sale only is my Fallout Tribute short scale bass in white in vgc. It`s a bit of a weird one this as even though it`s a short scale, it`s only a wee bit shorter length wise than a 34" bass. But it a great sounding bass, passive with a vol and tone and 3 position switch with parallel, single coil and OMG settings. Weight wise, it`s bang on 4 kg or 8.8 lbs. I would prefer collection or localish meet up but I have a box if you want to arrange a courier and any insurance.
  11. I have played with the same drummer since 2017 and it`s always been very natural, I have never had to try and lock in with him, it just happens. I guess it helps that he really knows what he is doing and is very good. But don`t tell him I said that!
  12. You are correct! Putting it on hold just now to consider other options.
  13. Simon bought an amp from me, top fella and super easy to deal with. Thanks!
  14. Re the Blondie comments. Have you ever played a gig sometimes and you think that your band played below par yet the punters loved it? I have always maintained that most musicians who play gigs, listen to live music differently to your normal non muso punter. We can be very critical about ourselves and others as our singer never fails to tell us! I sometimes yearn for the days when the experience of being at an event and listening to a great band was all that I cared about. But Blondie should defo knock it on the head!
  15. Just a wee tip if you are sending gear back. I always take plenty of photo`s of the product, then of it back in the box and the box itself. Might not do any good if an issue comes up but it might help.
  16. Bump for a Fender for the price of some Squiers! The world has gone mad
  17. Just watched the Pretenders on the i player and really enjoyed it. Their recent single, Let the sun come in was great and Johnny Marr is the coolest guy in music. Sod playing bass on that gig, as you look to your right there is Macca watching you
  18. If I remember right I had to drill a couple of new holes but as I had no intention of removing these, the old holes will never be seen. They really are great tuners.
  19. Here we have a great example of a rare Ashdown bass head. This is a UK built 400 watts model from 2002 and is in superb condition as you can see. The previous owner was DGBass on here and reckons it is the best example of this amp he has seen and the man knows his stuff. Here is a quote from the man himself from when I posted it on the Show your rig topic last year. "Yes these amps used the same ABM power stage as the ABM's of the time used. I know this amp well and it's history. It was purchased new in 2002 by a dude called Nick from Wales and he used it in his band, Welsh rockers "Clipper" for nearly eighteen years without a single issue. It travelled all over the UK and mainland Europe in its gigging life. It ended up coming north a few years ago and was fully rebuilt/serviced and is quite possibly the best example of a MAG400 head in the UK currently. I used it as a rehearsal amp and gigged it briefly (between ABM's.) It's a cracking amp!" Always nice to know the history of these things. I`m looking for £150 collected from Paisley or local meet up. If you want it posted, I have a suitable box but you can arrange the collection and any insurance.
  20. In our acdc tribute band, it`s kind of expected that Cliff and Mal did the backing vocals so we do them but we are both murder at it to be honest. But I have heard live radio shows from the late 70`s and the guys were equally as bad so we just carry on regardless. I thought about going for lessons but up here they charge £30 for 30 mins! Or else they want you to book a block of 10 or similar so we have put it on the back burner but it`s something I would like to be able to do well.
  21. Tough times for sellers at the moment so price drop to £450 collected.
  22. That looks ridiculous! Tartan on a seat, what were they thinking of???
  23. Oky doky, I now have a suitable shipping box so I will do £500 posted to UK mainland address or will knock off the postage if collected.
  24. Well we managed to change one thing about our band. Our lead guitarist or His Royal Highness as he was know, has fallen on his sword and buggered off. Sadly missed by no one and as an added bonus, we managed to find a great replacement within a couple of weeks. Ya ba dab a feck*n doo!!
