It goes like this. GAS > NBD > HNBFW. The last one is the most important. Hide new bass from wife

Good video that. Him and his guitar tech seem like right decent guys.
Looking to order this weekend. Currently favoring the Ibanez ATK800. Just looks like an epic bass for the money and I've heard nothing but good stuff about any ATK.
If you are buying this model, Thomann do it for £432. That is the cheapest I could see it. And they are good to order from. http://www.thomann.d...9d6e68ef575348b Oops! It`s sold out

Wot Lefty says. I don`t think you can buy them new any more. I had a wine red one as my first bass and they were not anything special. Or mabye that was down to me

Loving the blue with the maple and at that price, it`s a bargain.
Well, don't make statistics based only on one sample My two TC amps never had a problem, this is not an excuse for me to say they are invincible and will survive till the end of times. Sometimes also short circuits in amps are just bad luck (like a bug walking on the wrong contacts and blowing it up). it is also worth having it repaired if it is under warranty because if there is a design problem , usually the manufacturer will notice it due to the volume of services and fix it in the next release (amp misfunctioning are also bad for TC reputation).
I really don`t get what you mean by the first statement in your post. I am only stating what happened with my amp. I have defended the BG250 on a few occasions in this section but sadly, it seems my loyalty was misplaced. I have owned various brands of amps through the years and have never had a problem with their reliability when used as per the manufacturers instructions. I do feel pretty miffed when I paid £350 for something that is not up for the purpose, that it is designed to do. If you look on here and Talkbass, you will find that the BG has a bit of a reputation for frying itself. I am pleased that the TC is working well for you. I own Ashdown gear and have had no problems with it, yet others claim to use them with a fire extinguisher near by
Touch wood and all that guff but I have gigged mine a few times and had no problems with it. I use it every night in the house as well through the headphones but can understand the lack of confidence once it goes pop.
Well, this is the first time I have quoted myself in a topic. I was doing a gig last night with a local acdc tribute band and I was checking my gear yesterday, as you do. Turned on my BG 250, it goes pop a few times and smoke comes from the back of it. I will never buy a piece of kit from TC again. Even if it is still in warranty and could be repaired, I could not trust it on a gig. This morning, I paid £100 for a Ashdown Mag 2x10 combo and have swapped out the Chinese head for my old British Mag 300 head. Talk about tempting fate with the above December post

Can`t go wrong with The SR range, 300 and above. The only thing I find is the resale value sucks. But here I am going on about resale when you haven`t even got the thing!

I had the same problem trying to fit the notes in and keep it in time. I ended up playing something that sounded ok and got away with it. It goes to show how good a player Macca is to be able to sing and play at the same time. Thank god my next dep is with a local acdc band!

You, as the bass player, are never too loud. Learn how to sing/do backing vocals. This may be the difference in getting your dream gig. And no hats. Period.

Not like you to come away with a Larry Grayson moment Discreet Had to alter the post as I think that is Big Brown, which may be the same bass but wouldn`t want to give out bum info.

Look, all you need is one of these!! I give you Mr Phil Lesh and his Big Brown.
I'm crap and I know it. But I LOVE IT!!
Same here. If this was Talkbass, we could start a club I`m competent, nothing more, can`t slap, pop or any of that guff but have always managed to play in a gigging band when I want to. Don`t get hung up on it, there is always someone better than you. I know a guy who is a brilliant player but his attitude stinks and he doesn`t last long in any band he joins.

Aston "Family Man" Barrett 1 - Dom 0
jezzaboy replied to Dom in Dorset's topic in General Discussion
There is an often told story about a Family man bass lesson. Can`t remember who it was but they turned up all excited at Astons door, ready to soak up all the knowledge that the great man would share. They knocked the door, Aston opened the door and said "Nothing above the 5th fret!" and closed the door. A true story allegedly -
FS Yamaha BB1200 & OHSC **SOLD PENDING THE USUAL**
jezzaboy replied to Beedster's topic in Basses For Sale
Got to agree with the comments above. I recently bought a 86 BB1100s from a good chap on here, and it has a lovely P bass tone. If you are looking for a 70`s P bass on a budget, look no further. The Jap Yamaha`s are the real deal and great bang for buck. I wish I had sussed this years ago and saved myself ££££. -
Just bought Kenny`s BB1100 and a fine old girl it is too. Top man to deal with and he also threw in a nice case as well. Thanks

Good news - Lemmy still phenomenally loud
jezzaboy replied to chriswareham's topic in General Discussion
Lem is the man. End of conversation -
If you want an Ibby, I would look for a SR500. They come in just under £500 but you can pick them up s/h on here for around £300. Damm good bass with Barts instead of Ibanez pickups. The thing with Ibanez is, you rarely get a bad one, their qc seems to be good.
Jack White is imo the modern day guitar hero. The guy is unbelievably talented and is very passionate about what he does.
Still looks to me as if that young man needs a damm good wash. No matter of how good/bad a guitar player he is.

I used a green scourer pad and some colour restore, similar to T cut, and it took that horrible shiny look off of a Squier Jazz body. Only took about 20 mins and some elbow grease.

All the best for a speedy recovery Howard.
