1. I have a multi effects pedal and a headphone adapter so I can plug my bass into the pedal and then have the sound through headphones. Much better for those late night sessions where you don't want to upset the neighbours.
 2. Fifth element... The crow.... Baz Lurman's Romeo and Juliet.
 3. No gig for us BUT we had a great practice. Got together before and have agreed to do a gig and chosen a setlist. 30th August is the gig so we're working hard as it'll be our very first gig and a mix of covers and originals so got a lot of work to do! Was the first practice in a while that you could tell me were all working towards something and the feel was totally different... felt great and we were all drained at the end... Onwards and upwards from here!! I've never gigged before so needless to say am really excited. Any pre gig tips would be appreciated!
 4. As a popular comedy duo used to say... No neeeeeeed!
 5.
Good stuff! I really want a pointy five string that wont cost an arm and a leg. I dont even play metal, i just think they look cool as tits.
I haven't seen many pointy 5'ers out there.. but the sound from my dean is fab and I'd recommend it to anyone!
 6.
Did we find out what the problem was miss?
Well I've lowered te pickups and dropped the EQ a bit and now it's great.
 7. Just given it it's first proper run through at practice.. it sounds stunning now so thanks to everyone for the help..
 8. I'd have an expensive Amp. I've always had cheap basses and have always managed to get a sound I love out of them. If you've got a rubbish amp it doesn't matter how good your bass is it's going to sound rubbish.
 9.
You are also playing it in the wrong position...
10.
Oh THAT fill....its nowhere near 3:21....hang on
Sorry did I mean 3.31? I was going off youtube...

 12.
ok..its chromatic...B,C,C sharp... 2nd fret A string to 3rd..then 4th..then back into the riff,snd fret low B...but its a f***load easier if you were on a 4 playing to they're tuning.
Probably... but I'm awkward
 13.
Right sarah...I think this lot are tuned C sharp..you are in regular tuning,is it the really small climb after the 'drop-out' (as in no bass..just drums and vox)..then everything comes back in....
Yea, where it comes back into the chorus... then it's the little run before the chorus repeats just before the backing comes in with 'You learned your leeeesssooooooooooooooooon'
 14.
ok...from 3:21 to when?
It's really short... maybe a few seconds..

 17.
Gimme 5 mins...do you read..or are you a tab only person?
Tab only for all my sins.... and thanks
 18. We've just started covering this in our band... The rest of the song I've got pretty much spot on but am having trouble picking out a little bass run near the end... can anyone help? I play a 5 string in B standard... Here's the song.. http://youtube.com/watch?v=BRs9z8UfQzY The run starts at around 3.21 in. Have tried looking at tabs but they're all awful and nowhere near accurate. Thanks in advance... I love you guys
 19. Our first dance at our wedding was to Coheed and Cambria's Wake up. ''I'm gonna ride this plane out of your life again I wish that I could stay, but you argue More than this I wish, you could've seen my face In backseats staring out, the window I'll do anything for you Kill anyone for you So leave yourself intact 'Cause I will be coming back In a phrase to cut these lips I love you The morning will come In the press of every kiss With your head upon my chest Where I will annoy you With every waking breath Until you decide to wake up I've earned through hope and faith On the curves around your face That I'm the one you'll hold forever If morning never comes for either one of us Then this I pray to you wherever I'll do anything for you This story is for you ('Cause I'd do anything you want me to for you) I'll do anything for you Kill anyone for you So leave yourself intact 'Cause I won't be coming back In a phrase to cut these lips I loved you The morning will come In the press of every kiss With your head upon my chest Where I will annoy you With every waking breath Until you decide to wake up The morning will come In the press of every kiss With your head upon my chest Where I will annoy you With every waking breath 'Til you decide to wake up'' I particularly like the part about killing Funniyl enough everyone said how beautiful it was and how much it suited us. :brow:
 20. Unless he's bought tonnes of basses/amps but never let them get filmed/photographed.. lol
 21.
yep i have the same problem, not too bad if its just root notes but other wise i have to keep me mouth shut, which is no bad thing.
Ditto
 22.
If you know something "off by heart" then it's stored in your subconscious somewhere. You can start off playing, and then not "think" about what you're playing. For example, lots of people play infront of the TV, and don't actually listen to what they're playing, but still play perfectly. To what extent this is acheivable is something i'm not aware of, and I'd say I am naturally skeptical about things like this. Another more common example, is where someone cannot remember a bass line that they know. However, when they start playing the song, it "comes back to them" and they play it perfectly. Whether or not they're actually thinking about what they're doing......... It's pretty pointless to play without listening to yourself IMHO. It's just i've seen the phrase "finger memory" around quite a bit, and I don't like the way people misinterpret it (if it has a real meaning?). I'm no expert.
Hmmmmm..... interesting. See me, I can't even talk to anyone without mucking up....
 23.
Being able to play something without thinking about it is not the same as your fingers being able to remember something (which just doesn't happen).
How exactly do you not think about what you're playing though?
 24. I always remember things with my mind?
