1. Do you know any way to avoid that click in a circuit? Apart from not doing it that is!
2. Of course!, I'm being really dumb today, must be something I drank
3. yep you were right! It was a connection that was at fault, causing the problem. Durrr, assumed it was the active input because it was the new element in the equation! Out of interest though, if I put a switched resistor in line with the volume pot would that work like a volume cutter/active switch? So say would a resistor half the value of the volume pot halve the total volume?
4. Bought a G&L Tribute L2000 off him today. Nice friendly guy (and his missus too) and he sold it to me for a good price. No hesitation in recommending him to you all! I'm very happy but I don't think my missus will be now she'll see even less of me
5. Hi everyone! I'd built a ruby amp with the bassman mods and it's been working fine with my bass with passive pickups by now I've started using a bass with active pickups it doesn't cope at all. It just produces very loud clicks unless the bass is turned almost zero volume and then it's mostly hiss with tiny bit of bass. I'm assuming it's because the input level is just too much. Does anyone know of a mod that will allow active input? Any help or advice very gratefully appreciated!
6. So far I'm really pleased with the Protec, seems nice and secure. Next week I'm going to give it it's first test, the joys of rail and public transport await!
7. Title says it all really!
8. Stickers? That decides it then
9. ...was and still is Essential Bass Technique by Peter Murray. It's excellent and has really helped me, I just wish I'd started off with this as it gives a really solid foundation in what to do! Just thought I'd share the info in case it helps anyone
10. Have gone for the Protec, would have considered a Fusion F1 but would have had to wait for it to come in stock everywhere I checked. Looking forward to getting this, it's gotta be a million times better than my non waterproof, barely any protection PMT piece of rubbish!
11.
You may want to consider the Fusion F1 too, perhaps. I almost bought the Protec Contego a couple of weeks ago but chose the F1 instead and love it. Good protection, lots of pockets and very comfortable
Arghh! Just as I thought I'd decided you throw something else into the equation! Found the one you mentioned on Gak for £115, now I've got to choose one or the other.
12. Sounds interesting but it's about £50 more expensive than the protec. In your opinion is the extra cost justified?
13. It's an Aria AB30 and solid state. At the moment I'm putting a Jack in the headphone socket which acts as a mute on the speaker.
14. Hi all! I have an amp that is great but what would make it better would be a mute switch. I'm assuming it's a case of wiring a switch from the input Jack if I only want to mute the input or I'm thinking I could put a switch before the speaker output? I want to avoid the speaker popping when switching so would something along the lines of a millennium switch type wiring help avoid this? Any advice much appreciated!

16. I'm thinking of getting one of their seat belt recycled ones and just wondered if anyone has any experience of using this brand. They seem like a company with a nice vibe going on
17. I'll probably go for the protec, it's a fair bit cheaper and reviews seem to suggest it's more comfortable to wear.
18. Cheers for the advice guys
19. That's good to know! Bass direct, like a lot of UK based retailers at the mo, don't have them in stock. Do you think it would fare ok with train travel and the rigours of public transport i.e having cases potentially bashed into it etc?
20. Funny to think 2006 is now vintage in computer terms, I remember using a commodore pet at school!
21. Thanks! That's good to know.
22. How did you get on with Thomann, were they any good? Trust pilot seemed to give it very mixed reviews! Unfortunately Amazon don't seem to know when they'll have any in stock.
23. Hi all, Does anyone know where you can get hold of the Protec Contego Bass case here in blighty? Have searched everywhere but to no avail. If anyone knows then please put me out of my misery!
24. And please excuse the awful grammar of the title of this thread!
25. Hi everyone. The title tells you all really but I've searched everywhere for the Protec Contego case and got zilch! Can anyone put me out of my misery?
