  1. They look great! Good skills!! - I'm yet to hear the fEarful cabinets. The reviews are all good though!
  2. The Harma valves are very good. It’s no secret they are rebadged valves, but in order to get the Harma name they are seriously tested so only the best of the bunch get selected. I’d always used STR’s but I do want to give the Retro models a spin for their Mullard tones. Great stuff!
  3. Poor ole Jaco. He's one artist that I am so sick of reading the same b*ll*cks spouted over and over about his playing, especially when used to criticise someone else's musical journey, (which I hate people doing anyway aside from Jaco) that I really can't stomach listening to it, yet you can't not appreciate that he was a great musician.
  4. Bo problem at all! That's why I made the video. If you need any help, drop me a line
  5. Thank you! My favourite combinations were the 4x10 on the 1x15 together - they complemented each other and delivered lots of 'weight' to the sound. I also liked the 2x10 on the 2x12 though may have opted for a pair of 2x12's. Lavoce speakers on board seem to be good, same brand in the Laney SL cabinets which are great too.
  6. Well, the one in the video was a pleasure to play, so I've no doubt at all yours is the same
  7. Oh wow! Is that the very same bass as in the video?
  8. I’ll reply later but i think the K212 is a brilliant cab for the money. You’ll find one of my videos where you can hear the whole range together.
  9. One of my bands is releasing an album in February. I can hardly wait!
  10. Dood

    Line 6 Helix.

I bought the plug in out right in a moment of weakness.
  11. Oh look! There he is ha! if a single knob doesn’t float your boat, well, I use the Hyper Gravity Mini too which has all of the same tweakability but you can assign the three controls to do whatever you want.
  12. Well, if you take a ‘plane sailing, then you’re definitely going to have water logging in troubles.
  13. I would love to try a pair of @alexclaber‘s FR800’s. Even on loan or review. For reference, in it’s stock mode, I’d look for a preamp that has the ability to output a line level signal. Tech 21’s offerings are good. @Tech21NYC Q/Strip would be high on my list. I was also very impressed with the Trace Elliot Transit B which would be ace. I’m not sure about the output level of the @Aguilar/Dave B. Tonehammer, I’d need to check the manual, but I was always liked the tone of that being from the OBP pedigree. Then there’s a preamp I’ve been wanting to build for ages.. maybe one day I’ll have time ha ha! Or I will get someone else to make it for me!
  14. Yes of course! Covers are a bit like copying what everyone else has to say as if it were your own words (Kinda) Everything I teach, even if it be learning covers of songs is about learning self-expression, having the confidence to 'say things in your own way' and to understand how the theory behind the music works. Ultimately I suppose I am trying to teach my students how not to need me as soon as possible. Probably not the wisest business model ha ha!!
  15. Interestingly, the 3X version can 'do' a musicman-ish sound when the bridge and middle pickup are combined. The standard switch combination is a parallel config, but me being me.. lol..
  16. Good lord!! I adore that colour! - When I went to buy my own AB1, I had the choice of this red or bright yellow from the BD stock. The red unfortunately went quickly, so I just had to go for the crazy yellow instead (both in the 3X spec) - So, for you to go for this one, well, that's me giving you a big pat on the back. Congratulations, it's a beauty!
  17. Some of my favourite songs, the ones that stop me in my tracks, I have no idea what they are about. I couldn't even recite all the lyrics. Ask me about the Bass line and I'll talk for hours. In fact, looking back, it was quite a profound moment when I realised I was a Bass player, or, that I definitely must pursue the instrument: I only ever 'sang' bass lines to songs!
  18. Ahhh I've not heard of TorFx. I've always used Transferwise, which so far has been very good; similarly, it was difficult and more expensive through my own bank.
  19. Yeah I think exchange rates and the costs of shipping stock was a problem, especially when everything went err Br*x*t mad..
  20. Well, firstly it's not the MUSIC Business, it's the music BUSINESS and therefore it's about making money, thus what is marketable. I guess the music equivalent of Godwin's Law is mentioning the X-Factor machine - and unfortunately that is a great example of marketability.
  21. Have a break, have a Kit-Kat.
  22. I'm not sure about the newest models but the '16's can only do two pickup 'jazz' or NG2 config. You'd need to rout to do a 3x conversion. Maybe the later models have a bigger cut out, I've not seen.
  23. The forearm cutaway is worth on it's own!
  24. Awww! Cool! I hope they were helpful - and if not, ask away, I'll do what I can to make your selection easier.. quick tip.. underneath the pick guard for the NG2 and Combustion (standard models) there's routs for both configurations. I.e., I could turn my 'standard' in to an NG2 pickup option should I fancy it.
  25. I have an AB1 and a Combustion. They both certainly have their plus points as you mention. I actually went for the non-Nolly version Combustion as I prefer a more 'jazz' tone I suppose. The neck profiles are a little different on each, so that might sway you - as is also the fretboard radius. Everything else is great at each price point and even if it wasn't, pickups and preamps can be swapped out for other Dingwall hardware. You won't be upset with either, but the AB1 really is a great, great piece of kit!
