1. I have one of these. As far as vacuum cleaners go, it sucks... /coat
2. I should also add that this picture shows the bass with a Dimarzio Will Power pickup in it, not the Fender as listed.
3. I forgot to mention that didn't I ha ha!!! Sorry! - I'm in Norfolk on the A11
4. Plugged mine in yesterday. Forgot how good it sounds. It most definitely does heft!
5. Thank you, thank you and THANK YOU!
6. Thank you everyone for taking the time to leave feedback for me. I appreciate it greatly! Dan.
7. I don’t mind admitting I fell in love with it too!! I actually was totally bowled over my Jon’s Eclipse guitar finish and I immediately told him that was the look for my next Shuker should that happen... but then I saw the build pictures of this one. Jon sent me some before it was finished. So of course I changed my mind! A flawless instrument in every way, i would be so proud to own such a bass, especially knowing that Jon Shuker is the very cream of the crop when it comes to UK talent. (A well known premium USA luthier known for very expensive basses was very complimentary over Shuker’s work!) Oh and tone..... yum! Jon knows his electronics!!!
8. So, I will regret this but as I’d mentioned in my basschat status pre-update, one or more of three basses have to go to because I can’t afford to cover bills and get a piece of equipment I need for my work. Here we have a genuine Fender Japan non-export precision neck (which today would be known as an FSR equivalent) which is partnered with a Shuker premium Alder body. I specified a natural finish that looked like bare wood. It is rock solid but as a side effect is wonderfully resonant. Hardware comes courtesy of Gotoh which naturally is the best I could get. The bass comes with two pickguards. An official Fender USA 3 ply with a ‘road worn’ finish and also a brown/red tortoise shell guard too also with a ‘weathered’ look. The neck is wonderful and is a 70’s profile with a 40mm nut, so it’s a little wider than jazz but not as big as a precision. Perfect for smaller hands and those who don’t want chunky but do want the tone. Oh and I’m sorry, but these are finished to a much higher standard than a Mendel. Great edge and fretwork out of the box. The Shuker body was made specifically for the bass and as you’d expect is flawless. If you want it done properly with the best woods it’s gonna cost ya but I will be offering this up at a substantial saving over buying new of course. Not surprisingly all the routes are lined so the cavities are protected from noise. You’ll also get Dunlop strap buttons and a Fender Japan split coil pickup. The bass plays very nicely though I’m yet to give it the time for a full set up. As with any bass you will want to do that at some point. So i’ve factored that in to the final price. I have tweaked the truss rod and it was stiff but the relief is spot on. (I like a fairly flat board!) Fret wear is practically zero. A 70’s P without the weight issues. I’ll be very sad to see this go and maybe one or two others too Collection of course is always wise but shipping is possible but this will be the full responsibility of the buyer to arrange including insurance and tracking. (This will be very easy due to my work). Photographs to come soon.

I certainly DID read the notification about backing up PM's because all messages will be lost. That's why I have, you know, backed up my PM's before the switch over date. BassChat did it's best to let everyone know. I managed to get the message ok and I was under piles and piles of vomit these last couple of weeks.
11. Thank you! I was hoping for smaller if at all possible, but I’ll give it some thought:)
12. Right, I’ll set myself a reminder to play this video through my big ole monitors tomorrow! Thank you for taking the time to do this:)
13. Unnecessary GAS attack. I’m going to have to leave this thread Nice!
14. Having the GK Mb500, you are one step away from the Mb Fusion which is everything you ask for in one box - You can run that without a cabinet as a stand alone preamplifier/DI too - But of course there is a cost implication. I'd love to try the MB800 Fusion, that'd be nice. Of course you have mentioned your pedalboard, so maybe something like the EBS Valve Drive? The downside in buying a valve DI is that as soon as you mention the word 'valve' the price goes up, so unfortunately you might not get something pedalboard worthy and cheap at the same time.
15. @ped - And you can tag other members in the posts now too.
16. OMG!!! I just got a notification for being quoted in a topic! That's so cool as I often lose track of where I am in a conver
17. That is correct. There were notifications sent out before the migration advising of this and that any important messages should be backed up prior to the switch over.

Apparently not lol!
19. Very nice. I had no idea of the value of my own pair. In comparison to other basses, I'd say they were worth it. Fender Japan's finest. Incidentally, they were Alder bodies
20.
Just picked up my Series 2 from Jon. Buckeye Burl top with matching headstock faced front and rear , swamp ash body, maple neck and Birdseye board. Electronics are Aguilar DCBs with the East-UK pre-amp. I didn't want a cluttered rear, so no battery compartment but an active/passive switch on the front. The tonal range is huge. I got this after getting a Shuker 2 years back from Cotswold Bass and knew immediately that I wanted to commission something. Oh, and the rear control panel cover is cut from the body wood rather like Elricks or FBass. All round a stunning piece of work from Jon David PS - my existing Burl Maple Horn is up for sale here.
More pictures! It looks a beauty!
21. My advice is, should you wish to learn these songs, find a teacher who can teach 'how to learn new material'. I'm pretty chuffed with my own students. I have a complete novice bossing Hysteria by Muse at the moment. Another has recorded Sir Duke not long after taking up the instrument. For me, when I first started trying to challenge myself more, the band I played in covered a track called Metropolis Pt.II. It's a handy song but at the time I just couldn't seem to piece it together. I told myself it was outside of my capabilities and nearly had to throw the towel in. I didn't want to let the band don so I persevered. Needless to say, after some hard work we got it together and we received many compliments over our like-for-like version. In short, don't give in You can do it! Maybe not today, but keep at it!
22. Gotoh for me. Brass Saddles and a proper base plate made of something not cast from left overs lol
23. The Zoom recorders offer a significant improvement over the sound on any smartphone microphone. The iPhone isn't bad and thus I agree with the post above, but it's just not designed to record full range stereo audio. You'll notice that you'll only ever get just the left hand audio channel and everything under 100hz (from memory) is missing. I expect the Zoom add on to be easily as good as the H1 which is a brilliant little audio recorder. I own the Q4, Q8, H2n and have in the past owned the Q3HD.
