Any idea on price?
I have no idea, but I'll be interested too! I'll see what I can find out.

D'addario's cable systems are very good. I'd recommend those!

If anyone wants to send me a range of Vanderkley 12" speaker cabinets I'll be able to offer my thoughts verses Berg HDN112, HDN212, HD112 (x2), Barefaced Big Twin II, Barefaced Big Baby II, Aguilar GS112, Aguilar SL112, Hartke 112 (x2), Dr Bass (lol), EBS Classic 112 (x2) Trickfish 112, Laney 112, TC Electronic K-Cabs 212... and probably a few more off the top of my head too. I've owned most of these but some I have reviewed.

Well, this bad boy just appeared on my radar this morning. A very dear friend of mine introduced me to Alex who I understand has played a big part in the design of this drive pedal. On a personal note, he's a experienced musician who knows his stuff about bass gear as well as being a thoroughly nice guy. For the drive, I'm looking forward to getting my paws on one as I am very particular about the drives I choose, especially as I am a massive fan of having separate levels for both dirt and clean signals rather than just a limiting pan knob. Here's the Facebook Link: https://www.facebook.com/zoomukdistribution/videos/1918442288369070/ and one for YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erPxrCG9RHU I wanna get hold of that treble control!

Blown away by the ACS customer support recently. The local rep is a top chap and even popped round to say hi!
Some very odd replies here. The main reason is simply that people's vocal ranges vary hugely. Think Paul Robeson and Robert Plant. I'm a natural baritone. I have a rather unexciting mid-ranged voice. Loads of rock songs are pitched far higher than my voice will go, because they're designed to be sung by tenors like Robert Plant and Bruce Dickinson. Plenty of songs are pitched way lower than my voice will go, because they're designed to be sung by Barry White. I suppose I could sing (a version of) Stairway To Heaven if I really felt like it, but never in the original key. That's not because I'm lazy (I'm not) or have an untrained voice (10 years' choral work in a bunch of choirs, thank you very much). It's more a matter of physiology and, y'know, yer actual physics and that.
Indeed! I'm flabbergasted when musicians who don't have to go to the effort of singing are unwilling to change key to suit the singer's voice. I think I'm as miffed when I see trolls complaining that a singer with a long career behind them has to drop a key to still deliver their songs some 30 years after recording them. I know that I couldn't sing any 2 hour gig even in my 'perfect' singing range, but to force a singer to keep pushing theirs to the limits whilst we just noodle away in our happy place is just insane. 'lol'.
There is a switch on the back of the amp to change to 120v, I wonder if that would have worked?
I'm glad you didn't test the theory as that would have most certainly have cost you. As for generators, in all my years gigging, only a few times has a venue or promoter ever known there correct specification for a generator used for live music. We've always had to get an upgrade in. So, in short, if you know the gig may include the need for a gen, make sure it is suitable before leaving for the gig because the venue sure as sh*t won't pay for damage to your gear caused by plugging it to their generator.

One of my old customers (from an old life) was called Shirley Knott. I don't think she'd ever watched Police Squad either.
Now you say! Just bought a Corona AND a vortex!
It wouldn't hurt to have all three
If I change a bridge I like the Gotoh 201B is very well made does not look out of place and is about half the price of some of the other mentioned makes on this thread
The 201B is a great bridge, I like it a lot. I'd love to see a version with quick release slots in it, that'd be great. For cheap and cheerful, the Wilkinson BBoT type with brass saddles works very well. I think it's actually a steel baseplate too.
That's a bit of a shame. I have a Trinity T2 reverb and Hall of Fame TonePrints work with it. Edit: I suppose they are both the same "type" of effect though so it makes a bit more sense...
Some Toneprints are indeed designed to work on like for like pedals - for example the Brian May Chorus works on both the Corona and Dreamscape pedals.
-
Just a quick question! If you have the TC Corona, could you use a toneprint from the Vortex pedal so you can have chorus/flanger on one pedal?
Buy the DreamScape, job's a good'un - and boy is it a great sounding pedal!

Check out my review in Guitar Interactive. I think the video is on YouTube too.

EVENT: Yamaha / Line 6 hosting a Helix learning lab in London
Dood replied to fretmeister's topic in General Discussion
Full details are here: https://www.yamahamu...?article_id=192 It is being hosted by Ross Bailey (Rossyamaha on the Fretboard forum) who is a very handy session player and the font of all helix knowledge. No doubt it will be concentrating on guitar use, but the Helix is an amazing bass unit too, and the routing options are beyond anything else I've ever heard of. Apparently it will be streamed on the Yamaha facebook page too. I'm most annoyed I can't get out of work. I love my Helix - it has replaced multiple preamps and pedals for me and I've only scratched the surface.
I would dearly love to see it but similarly I am 'busy at work'. Hopefully the stream will be viewable after the clinic so I can see it still. -
Would this be a good time to roll out the over used "When Doves Cry" witty reply? For me, I will have the opening piano bars of Bohemian Rhapsody. Queen wrote the song for the inauguration and unveiling of my birth and it stayed at number one in celebration of my arrival in the world. God (John Deacon) was looking over me.* *ok, I made that bit up. The song was at number one when I was born.
already have the smaller Nova system and it's great. Bargain price here... Just wondering though: do the octaver, pitch effects, tuner and noise gate work properly with a bass on the full G-system ? They don't on the Nova.
How odd! I've owned the Nova System before I upgraded to the G-System and never had any problems! The Octaver, much like the analogue equivalent tracks nicely - the pitch effects, especially detunes 'chorus' nicely - though I wouldn't try a three part harmony down the low end of the neck. I agree that the tuner doesn't like my low F# string (below B string) but on my basses (certainly 4 string) it is rock solid. There are few tuners that do like a low F# string fundamental anyway and in noisy environments, the 12th fret harmonic is a way purer tone to send to any tuner, so I'd recommend using those instead. I've a few students who favour a low 'dub' bass sound with flat wounds or very little top end in their sound. Some tuners seem to struggle with this more than a nice 'new string' zingy sound full of rich top end. -
I posted this on my Instagram at my gig on Saturday. My latest acquisition. We are running an XR18 desk and each of us can control our individual IEM mixes using our iPads. Super easy, but 1) I like to be able to tweak whilst I am playing and 2) given the available aux sends left, I had to give up the opportunity for a stereo mix with my usual set up. Then I learned about this, the P16m controller which connects to the desk via Behringer's 'Ultranet' network using a Cat 5 (network cable). It carries 16 channels of audio direct to me in about 1ms latency. I now have a stereo mix, fast access to grouping channels, EQ on every channel and a built in limiter to save my lug oles. Oh and no batteries to worry about! Very pleased indeed!
-
that's how I justified the cost of the IEM in the first place. When you consider that folk will have no problem shelling out £1k for some boutique cab ...
And it's one for each ear Annnnnnnnnd they don't suffer from bad sound when you use them in a rubbish shaped room. Annnnnnnnd no one will ever ask if they can use them.... Annnnnnnnd they won't break your back when it comes to load the gear away.... Annnnnnnd all 16 of my speakers fit in my top pocket ha ha!!
Thanks! It looks like it just might work? 3cm is just about the clearance I've got to the floor... shame the feet cannot be replaced as I could install bigger ones to be sure... 7cm and L-shaped ends of the cables is plenty to fit between the bars... I might just order one and see, thank you!
No problem! Thank WoodInBlack for pointing this one out. I found some reviews online of the unit; a guy had opened one up and was pretty happy with how they were built, so all good news!
