  1. I often see something like these advertised (no idea why I am targeted, maybe for this very thread, who knows!!) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385468524343?var=653322485743&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338365712&toolid=20006&customid=EB118879401& A clip on replacement zip catch. Not sure if this one linked is any good, but I have seen plenty advertised.
  2. Jazz/Precision Bass with Ric pick-up positions anyone? I wanna hear it out of interest!

Why has nobody adapted this design so that our PJH pickups can be varied in a similar way?

@eadThank you! I would LOVE to hear it - especially as you also have EMGs on board which will be what I go for. I may choose J pickups, but now I have seen EMG P's in situ, I am intrigued!

Ok, I'll do my best but please note in advance that my playing is not of the same quality as yours!

  3. I can see what they are getting at as I know why the Evertone bridge is so useful for guitarists, but I agree, the video above didn't explain how the bridge works or why it's needed. What they need is an independent reviewer who loves to know (and explain) how things work in great deal. Hmmmm... I wonder if anyone know one? ;o)
  4. Why are these still here?? A single unit alone from Andertons is £537 and I've got TWO barely used for £650!!
  5. For those wanting to learn it, the entire track is transcribed in Guitar Pro's own songbook. I've been teaching one of my guitar students all the guitar parts recently! https://www.guitar-pro.com
  6. The SE's and Lewitts look good too. The band I've just joined use a cheap pair of overhead SDC's for monitoring purposes, not sure of the brand though - possibly behringer actually lol!
  7. It seems that everything a bass player does that doesn't fit the closed-minded mindset is frowned upon. Capos are brilliant and can be useful. If you have some songs that are in Eb or D standard and some that are in E standard, tune the bass to D standard and use a capo on the first or second frets to "retune" the bass between songs. It also helps to teach you to not rely on the dots on the neck too
  8. Introducing, the brand new "Jaco only needed" series, comes with full case candy and an exclusive range of scented corks!
  9. Precision Bass - Good enough for rock n' roll bass.* There's a word for this. It's alternative series name is exactly the same as what the precision bass is very known for!
  10. Thumb Bass - This little piggy went to market bass.
  11. One of the things I find interesting is that, like many of us here, being a member since Basschat began (2007 I think) and then long before that, BassWorld, you get to see the same kit being flipped and bought by other members. The price trends can be eye opening at times.
  12. Thank you, I'll check it out!
  13. looking superb! Just to answer your question, like the B|Amp, the speaker files (profiles) are static (page 15 in the manual specifies what can be saved in a preset) but, maybe it’s something that can be implemented. I’m video chatting to Jim again soon, so if I remember, I’ll run it by him. last time we talked for nearly 4 hours solid!! Honestly:)
  14. I've just released an EBS Reidmar 752 extended review too. I've added it to the reviews section here as well as the 502 combo. Time allowing, I've about 400 videos to locate and post here for us all.
  15. I went out last night for a rehearsal with a new band after a bit of a break from playing. Things in the last year or so really knocked my confidence on top of covid and a whole host of woes. So, it felt a bit like a rather tall horse to try to get back on. I did as much homework as I could and was even a bit nervy walking in for the first time. It went really well and the whole band (two new members added on the same day) gelled really well, like-minded had a great vibe in the room and I'm playing stuff that I've never really covered before. It felt rather liberating! I took both of my MIJ Fenders with me and the Berg' stack. Sounded absolutely brilliant - and the first time I'll be gigging on just 4 strings for .. I dunno! 25 years?? It felt good.
  16. I've been watching the posts explode recently about this one. I've not installed it yet, but I do have ToneX, the Neural DSP QC on my desk too (review kit) so it'd be interesting to see what it can do for us bassists as well! I'll report back when I get time to add this one to the test bench.
  17. I stupidly sold this bass when I was 18 though. Last known owner is/was a studio in Suffolk, But I don't know which and I have no way of finding out. This one was an absolute peach and I made a big moral mistake selling it.
  18. Most 100000% this one. I hated being forced to sell this
