Thought as much. I'm looking at moving to a pedal board centred around the GK as my rig and then a FR800 for the odd time I need backline. Would be really curious to see how it works out for you.
Yes, i'm certainly curious and as soon as annoying bills stop appearing just at the wrong time, I will be taking the plunge!
I have been doing a lot of research into the GK Plex. The 1/4" on that is balanced and really hot for driving their powered cabinets. Might be worth a look? Is this for a FR800?
Thank you! And, yes, for the FR800!

Am I the only one who read the spec' but heard Adrian's softly spoken voice? "And this is the sound.." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCQRvvRP3y0 Lovely basses, I reviewed a fan fret model recently and really liked it.
You were right with G Major though (or E minor)..... unless of course you were eluding to the fact that there were 5 sharps in total in the original post in which case I say well played sir, excellent wit!
Yes, indeed I started with the one sharp then went for the five. Shame it wasn't C Major we were talking about as relatively speaking it would have been... wait for it... A Minor error...
but for pop and rock, I can't think of any in Cb right now!
Unless the song was originally played in C physically but on guitars dropped to Eb I suppose!

Although I am sure there are better resources, this one does a good job of explaining! http://musicnotation...ic-equivalents/ Off the top of my head, I think Whitney Houston's 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' is in C#, but for pop and rock, I can't think of any in Cb right now!

I think it looks like a useful piece of kit in certain situations, though when I was offered a demo, the kit it was plugged in to seemed to have a problem thus I didn't get to hear what it was trying to fix. On the subject of fixing, you do have some nice kit behind you - I suspect you will be asked how you can't hear yourself! The Big Twin is a monstrous cabinet, so I don't think it's lack of volume that is causing a problem. The Earbox, although appearing like an appealing solution, I suspect you may be able to fix your problems without spending any more money and that will be through simply lifting your gear up that you have already and get it closer to your ear. I often angle my cabinet upward on stage (especially if it is a small space) and will never need to run anymore than my small amp I have. Depending on how you EQ too, lose some of your low end subs and boost the mid range too if you don't already. Maybe add a bit of bite at around 4Khz for pick attack. A simple trick is to turn the bass control down a bit but turn up the overall amp volume the same amount. I hope that helps!
I'm struggling to see the point of this thread, other than a bit of trolling. She's out there playing, giving it a go. C'mon Basschat, we're better than that!
It takes balls to put yourself out there, especially in a sea of frankly horrible people commenting on YouTube, so I commend her for uploading a play through. I've always turned commenting off on my own videos. A stronger person than I in that case!
A lot of that might be to do with the pickup, which you can 'pick up' separately... But I suspect a lot of it is also to do with that beefy neck. I had a classic 50s for a while and it had something special about it, best sounding P I've ever tried, but found the combo of wide neck / small radius / sharp board edges uncomfortable to play.
I agree with regard to the pickup, but even acoustically the SH had a clearer bell-like tone to it with a girth to the note. Not 'more bass', but more note definition in the lows. Possibly down to the maple neck and maple body combination rather than the rosewood fretboard/ash combo of the Nate. The neck is a much better finish on the SH too. Interestingly, I did spot the Scott Devine discussion about comparing his new Moollon to the Nate Mendel bass. The SH I demo'd matched his description of the Moollon in comparison to the Nate. Thing is, I'm not bashing the Nate as it is still a very good bass. Just different and less 'my thing', if that makes sense!

Those basses are really nice. It was a shame that the one I tried out was the heaviest P bass I've ever picked up. Had it not have been, even with the logo, I'd have been hard purchased not to buy on 24 months interest free (the offer the short had at the time). I wish they'd finished the Nate Mendel neck as nicely as the Steve Harris model, but tonally the SH had the better sound.

I always thought I was really late to the party when it came to Transferwise, so I never really mentioned it before. Surprised at how many people are still fighting with Paypal and excessive bank transfer charges when buying and selling in Europe. (Careful not to mention the B word and 'it can only get worse' etc etc)
Found this a lot funnier than I probably should have!
He he! Thank you, it's not often people laugh at my jokes!! Looking back though, I should have said B Major. But then, that's probably why people don't laugh at my jokes; watch me kill the punchline ha ha!!

Fender Deacon-ification MkII. Late 70's - Mid 80's era.

Thank you! I should add that the neck is an official Fender product. I would most definitely have not even thought about asking Jon to make a Shuker with another name on the headstock. I had the piece already, along with all the parts. It sounds great, You know when you pick up an instrument which acoustically sounds alive? Yeah, that! He then did the magic with a tub full of kit and delivered this lovely bass! -
That's it internet! Take the rest of the day off, you've earned it! Solo', that's just brilliant The answer is a very reassuring yes, there is indeed a formula!

Hi everyone, I'm just looking to find out if there is a Boss/Mxr sized pedal out there that can drive the signal from instrument level to line level with a master volume (and maybe a parallel out) to enable running a few effects straight in to an active cabinet? I know that SFX already has a design for something that would be perfect yet a little on the large size, but I was wondering what might be available on the second hand market, being as I am about to be wiped out by car bills. Options: Simple line booster with input, level, output and parallel out. Stereo version of above As above with three band EQ As above with separate levels for DI output and 1/4" output (Which is the SFX model, no EQ) Any thoughts? Of the 'preamp' pedals out there, which will definitely drive a power amp *properly*? (I know I'll have to look at input sensitivity on the active cabinet and output levels attainable from the pedal, but wondered if there were a device already out there that guaranteed an 'all encompassing' output level.)
It's a million-to-one chance, so it's bound to happen. love this! Thank you Solo', my inner geek is spending too much time thinking about this. Which is great, because that means I'm not having to think about the purchase I had planned (and sold a favourite cabinet to fund) slipping through my fingers. Oh well.

Transferwise user here too. Cheaper and safer than PayPal.

It does and there's a thread in the Builds forum now!

It's really strange, I've offered bassists the use of my bass, but they've always looked worried and said no politely. Guitarists often go quiet too.

So, did anyone mention how good Reaper is yet? lol I've been using it for many years now, even on professional releases that I have recorded session bass on. I do use Logic Pro X too as I often am sent complete sessions using said app, but I love the fast and easy workflow of Reaper and the niggle free experience I have with it. Logic sometimes has no Logic. Reaper just does what you want, when you want.
They do not muffle the sound just cut the volume and some frequencies. My bass and the drums sound great. Had to get something quick after getting tinnitus at new year and these do the job for now.
Out of interest have you compared these to moulded in-ear protection or the 'flanged' in-ear protection?
