I'm yet to get to try out Vanderkley gear properly! I set myself a task to go check them at the London Bass Guitar Show, but alas it was one of the many stands that I didn't have time to get to. Just crazy busy! I'd like to hear a pair of these or the 2x12 version.

Ok, one more... apologies! - I'm going to do a thread about it. Just arrived, the [url="https://www.zoom.co.jp/products/handy-recorder/h2n-handy-recorder"]Zoom H2n[/url] field recorder that can record from 4 directions (kinda like surround sound). It's just brilliant for picking up rehearsal recordings and even gigs. Yeah, I knew it would be good but it ended up being much better than expected!

More recently though, the D'Addario Eclipse tuner that I bought with my last order of strings is really rather good. Also from TC Electronic, I still love the SpectraComp, but just arrived, the 'Sub n' Up' is just a bonkers good stand alone Octave pedal. The tracking down low is better than any pedal I've used to date.

I had to 'reshape' my stands for my 7 string. The neck on my Shuker isn't massive as I use a 16mm spacing, but I had to go to work on my stands by gently opening the hefty metal neck supports. The neck just squeezed in but I knew it was safe. Now I just use those tour stands that allow instruments to slide in sideways instead. This sort of thing:

I'd probably just go for one of the 1U sized D Class heads like the Eich T series, MarkBass F1 or F500, Gallien Kruger MB500 or MB800 (Or Fusion models) , (TC BH500 or BH800 for a little larger) and plug in to the effects return socket, which ends up being kinda the same thing. Simply because the cost of these small but loud stand alone power amplifiers can be higher than buying the mass produced head equivalent. What's inside the box is often the [s]same[/s] similar power amplifier guts anyway ha! That said, if the price was good, I;d have probably stumped up for the Demeter as it gets good reviews, but the the Bergantino B|Amp came along, and that is a seriously nice amplifier.

If those sleeves are the cause of the issue, you could use a hot glue gun to fix them in place. (It would be wise to run it by a tech if you are unsure where to put the glue). I have to say though, It's unusual for these to cause noise unless one of the components nearby has a dry joint or is faulty. The first place I'd actually go look is at the valves in case they need reseating or one or more has gone microphonic, often the cause of vibration noise being amplified. There are three 12AX7 and one 12AU7 (ECC83, ECC82 for us in the UK). Check those by gently tapping them with a pencil whilst all is plugged in and turned up. Again, there are very high voltages running around inside the amp so if you are not happy with doing this, run it by a tech

[/quote] They won't fit the Dingwall 37" basses (e.g AB1) but will fit the Super P and Super J basses as they have a shorter scale length of 35"

A great cabinet with a decent set of drivers and an exceptional crossover doesn't appear to be the norm. It's a shame as it should be. There are of course plenty of manufacturers that do make incredible sounding bass cabinets, but unfortunately there are also plenty that make cabinets to a price point rather than a quality point. The poorest of designs leave a gaping hole in the frequency spectrum in between the woofer and tweeter, often making the HF unit a pointless addition as all you end up hearing is hiss from the amplifier through it. This is made even worse by those using, for example, dead strings that have a softening of top end content anyway, or, an amplifier that is design to roll off the highs in the regions where a tweeter might be useful.

i've just started using the [b]Deepdish GigBook[/b] app. Having found others to be clunky and a faff to sort out, this one, after reading the helpful 'how to' had me up and running in minutes. I liked ForScore but I couldn't help thinking there had to be an easier way and have now stopped using it. OnSong again for some reason I just didn't find intuitive even though it gets rave reviews. We're all different I suppose!
