cont.. Or if Synergy make a GH100L preamp module like the 6505 for their new Syn-20IR valve head... then maybe I'd settle for that instead - have you heard those? Insane! /back on topic..

Only yesterday I was making patches on my Quad Cortex with the 5150/6505 models and captures. I don't think Peavey's James Brown and EVH realised what sort of beast they were unleashing! Absolutely killer heads. One day I'm gonna have one of those and the Laney GH100L in my collection! Incredible amplifers!

Thank you Makes sense!

I have a pair of the Indonesian made (the good models) Peavey Cirrus 5 strings. What's not to love? 35" scale, slim and fast neck through, through body or top mount stringing, mono rail bridge pieces, VFL active pickups, active pre, well balanced, and a low B that defies its price point considerably. Actually, I don't know if I've just got lucky, but pop a set of Pro Steels on one of these basses and the low B is as impressive as basses I have reviewed that are considerably more expensive. I don't need both now as the project I planned to use them with isn't happening, but I am absolutely keeping one of them. I think the Cirrus basses were probably Peavey's best basses and a shame that they stopped making them - but, Peavey did announce at last year's NAMM that they were starting to make the premium USA models again.

If it’s a fixing to a smooth (say poly finish) painted guitar, then you could use Microsuction tape. It won’t damage the guitar finish and should hold still. I’ve never tried it with a ramp, but a wireless brand supplied a piece to a fix the transmitter to guitar bodies. edit: I think it is also called nano tape, but don’t quote me on that, lol.

I was just about to type a very similar post! Great communication, prompt transaction and updated me to let me know the device arrived safely and is up and running as we speak, thank you @sammybee! A++++ as they say on eBay!

It’s be impossible to tell without looking at the amplifier. A bit like asking why a car won’t start. However, unlike cars, the schematic diagrams for the SVT 2 Pro are readily available and, any electronics engineer worth their salt would be able to fault find the boards, irrespective of it being a valve amplifier. I haven’t worked in fault diagnosis for many years, but I can see that the “fault condition” circuitry (if that isn’t at fault itself) checks for expected voltage levels in multiple areas of the schematic, so, I’d start by tracing those against expected voltages. (Taking the necessary safety steps as not to cause more damage to the amplifier). Ergo, take it to a tech. Contact Yamaha to find out where the nearest service centre is.. I have a sneaking suspicion it’s not in the UK if any official centre for the SVT..

I seem to recall (not that my memory is that great these days lol) that I’d seen pics of James with the LEDs on.. (He’s in the same county as me), but judging by the ad, the bass is sold now.

I think that might be owned (or was owned) by @jamesbur?

Congratulations!!!!! Wow, that’s a beautiful bass right there!!

Jon doesn’t know I’ve designed another bass. A 4 string P. I can’t afford a tuning key for it even, but it’s a corker. Would love to hear this one @bremen!!! Looks stunning!

If social media platforms weren’t necessary for my work, or I didn’t need them to stay in contact with friends, family and work contacts, I’d probably have ditched the worst offenders, if not all by now. I appreciate they need to make their money through advertising, but I’d love the option to choose to see only what I follow or subscribe to. Everything else is an endless cesspit of where good content goes to drown. Fake news and propaganda, endless spam videos, stolen content recycled, AI posts that haven’t been checked and click bait that makes my brain itch. But, you only get to see that once you have sifted through vacuous wannabes, the look-at-me and the desperate for validation.

Hey mate, In the meantime, I’ve had it confirmed that with accessory cables, Runsten can power the Neural DSP Quad Cortex, for those who need high current outputs.

The Bass Show UK - Cranmore Park, Birmingham - March 1st and 2nd
Dood replied to Goliath_FX's topic in Events
Hey all. I have to admit, I was really looking forward to this show. It has been too long in my own calendar since I’ve had an opportunity to catch up with our fellow ‘chatters and my wider group of bass playing and industry friends. There’s a number of brands that I’d also really like to talk to, kinda important for my job (and passion in general) too. Sadly due to an ongoing health issue that has reared its ugly head in spectacular style this week, I am very ill. I’m just too weak to be able to attend. This week was made bad enough having to endure missing our dear friend Nick Smith’s funeral on Tuesday 💔(though it warmed my heart to know that Peterborough Cathedral was so full, people had to stand up.) So, this much needed trip out, even for my own mental health, I’ll have to miss. Please, as usual, lots of pics and videos, wish I were there to hang out with our BC fam’.- 192 replies

I have a micro mixer made by Max of SFXSound ( @Silent Fly ) that blends signals, but I’ve not seen Max around these parts for a while. Absolutely brilliant little box that even has an LED to light up your board on dark stages too!

Sorry I’m late to the party, I’d have asked if the EBS Runsten is suitable, I’ve one sat here I’m about to review and it promises much. I think it might even power the Quad Cortex using doubler cables and the like.

A basic prompt that I have used has been over 800 "words" even before I have asked a question or fed it any details to work from.

I’ve one boxed up in my studio right now along with the 2x12. I’ve submitted my video review ready for release. I’ve had plenty of Laney gear over the years and none of it let me down; the fit and finish of the Digbeth kit suggests more of the same. I think the vertical arrangement is so much better as a 1 cab solution than DBV’s two by two version available, but I agree that the latter would look better stacked. In use, the DBV gear has lots going on throughout the mids, but you can still dial in punchy lows - and they don’t get ‘flubby’ with bass control boosted a tad. I had a nice surprise when I mixed my recorded audio, the blended DI and Mic’d tone solo’d with my old P bass was absolutely delicious. Both cabinets take drive well again, especially in the mids where we want it. We’re talking chunky cabinets and ceramic speakers for those who want to get back to those vintage vibes, and with that comes a reminder that they aren’t helium filled. But, along with the really nice overall stylings comes good quality handles, rear mounted wheels, a kick plate, skids and a top mounted handle to make manoeuvrability a nicer experience.
