You're welcome. Mine are up in the for sale thread now - a couple of quid more than if ordered direct, but you know they will arrive within a day or 2.
That was quick! - Didn't do it for you? What did you think of them?
-
oh by the way - it looks like both the guitar and bass EQ pedals have been marked up as 'bass eq'. I've sent them a message anyway, but the blue one is guitar, the silver is bass.
-
That bass EQ could be on the list then!
-
Best I go check the ad' then! I have three on the way - I hope they are good'uns!

It'd either be a stacked knob, or I would have a pair of sub-mini 'preset' surface mount type control put in. It seems that pretty much everyone i have spoken to has given up the gauntlet to getting everything in to a small case, but I am chatting directly with One Control now instead. The Mosquite Blender looks pretty unbeatable at the moment. I will be back with more info' soon!
You use a capo on bass? I don't believe you! Where did you get a capo that big? Is it custom made from a bit of scaffolding & a gator out of a tyre?
Hahaha! it's a superb tri-action capo from Planet Waves at the moment and clamped over the top 4 strings leaving the other 3 free for normal bass useable. Very cool for drone or pedal notes low on the neck, or great for tapping high on the neck! I haven't gigged the Capo yet though! No endangered species were harmed in the making of this music hehehe!

p.s. don't use Monkey as it will get the latest driver - go to the downloads section of the Line 6 website to scroll through to the previous driver 7.1.7. -
Line 6 UX1 - Mac will not recognise Please Help!
Dood replied to zranyard's topic in Repairs and Technical
Ok, been having a chat with tech support - try this - go to Applications > Line6 > Drivers folder and use the uninstaller to remove them. reboot machine. then go to Line6 and get the 7.1.7 driver, not the latest driver and install that instead. I'm testing the driver on mine and so far it *seems* to be behaving. Whilst I was at it, I reinstalled the UX1 firmware too just to be sure. There's a whole lot more that tech support have sent me, but it is a known fault that they are trying to sort out. Good luck, I will post my findings. P.s. what interface did you buy? I might get another too! -
Have a look in the 'Total" menu. I seem to recall seeing what may be (maybe not too!) input gain control of some sort in (if memory serves) the rhs screen. I'm at work and can't check it for you on my own B3 at the moment. Greg
Unless I have missed it twice, lol!
-
Could you not just put that pot inside the B3 then? Maybe if they release the software update for it that will contain an input gain control.
Also a possibility!
Why not have a small, switchable, attenuator pedal made?
That's a very good idea actually - I could build one in to one of those small pedal boxes. I think I'd get away with a passive version too as it would be sat between to active devices. I'd guess a pair of jacks and something like a 25k Log pot in a box would work fine. I'd not even worry about the switch. Food for thought!
would you not just turn down the output on your bass? I'm not sure of your signal chain but it would be the obvious solution
Yes, but live I do a fair amount of swells and volume control stuff so it'd annoy me setting the volume at 70% and then knocking it up or down - I prefer the control to be full on all the time. I guess the other option is to install an attenuator in both basses, but it's not the bass that is at fault as none of my other pedals suffer. Would rather fix at source I feel.
did you manage to stop it clipping Dood?
There doesn't appear to be an over all input gain unfortunately, so what I had to do is use an EQ pedal with my normal boosts and cuts on it, but pull back the level control a notch more to bring the level down so it wouldn't clip the B3. Interestingly, my bass won't clip the EQ or LS-2 as easily as the B3. It's a little bit of a pain until I can find a fix - I don't really want to have to have the EQ limited to it's uses. I might ping zoom a message in the hope there's some help to be had.

I held on to this one for a while, But I have decided to let it go after all. I have the box and manuals too. If you are specifically looking for the red limited edition version, then worry not, according to the TC website all the patches are available to download on to this unit. The hardware between the two models is exactly the same, only the outer shell colour is different. Save yaself some pennies! -
I played a gig on Saturday with my B3 again. Just brilliant. What makes me chuckle is that even if you were to just leave the pedal on your three favourite pedal effects and never change them, you *still* have three great sounding effects in one box that is cheaper than those three pedals available separately. Mostly for the weekend's gig I used a chorus, the great tracking Octaver and either a bit of Big Muff dirt and that was enough along with my 'preamp' set up. I think for the money, everyone should have one as a 'swiss army knife' of effects.
Don't know about the LH1000, but having looked at the schematics I can say that the HA series has a fixed mid scoop on the tube input channel, basically a Fender tone stack without the pots. A
Yup that's true, the HA does - the LH is a Fender/Alembic a-like so has the 'scoop' programmed in when all the controls are pointing upward (as described in a previous post) - So it'll do flat, or a small mid bum in extreme settings but if the bass and cab both have scoops in their responses then it'll cancel out any mid boost from the amp.

From what I have read so far they are listed as a 'good HiFi speaker' and would probably be ok for rough mixing purposes as would any decent HiFi speaker. There's actually a set on eBay with an hour left right now for £50 with no bids. I looked at completed listings but no 727 models came up. You may be looking at sub £50 for the speakers alone. Not sure about the QED - I believe they were a big name too once upon a time? Hope this helps!

Recording a video of yourself playing using an iPad
Dood replied to Mr Lizard's topic in General Discussion
I use mine to record riff ideas on both guitar and bass. For acoustic guitar it's fine. I stand it up and record through the built in camera app. For bass, I plug in to my monitors or an amp just so the iPad can pick it up clearly. I've not used it for band recording yet, but my girlfriend has successfully recorded one of my bands playing shooting video on her iPhone. I think there's various apps out there that will make the job easier - my first thoughts are to look for a recording interface such as the Apogee Jam - but it's only a mono recording device. If you are looking to do band recording, then maybe there's a stereo option? I'm not sure! -
Same for me as Phil's post. I really like the use of a capo - in fact any open or drop tunings too. Sometimes it sounds good to take a particular open tuning finger picked pattern and shift it higher up the fretboard. My 'go to' position for some reason always ends up around the 6th fret on my acoustic. I also transpose on the fly if necessary - except those days when I'm feeling really tired and everyone turns to laugh at the disaster unfolding in the corner of the rehearsal room ha ha!! Oh and dare I even mention that sometimes I have used a Capo on Bass? Mostly for finger picked or tapped lines that require certain groups of 'open' strings.

Line 6 UX1 - Mac will not recognise Please Help!
Dood replied to zranyard's topic in Repairs and Technical
Firstly, have you updated or do you already have Mountain Lion on your Mac? If the answer is yes, then take a ticket and join the queue. There's quite a list of upset customers on the Line 6 forum with open tech support tickets for devices that are failing to connect, or drop out, or glitch since updating to Mountain Lion. I can run you through set up as I have a UX1 too, but it may not help if the answer to the question above is in the affirmative :0$ -
Sheer class !
Thank you! I've really tried on more than one occasion to 'upgrade' to something smaller but every time I have put them away, I've had to get them back out again! Just sound wonderful in comparison to everything else I've owned. My studio monitors are a different kettle of fish mind, but for just music listening pleasure, the 733i's are brilliant.
never used the pick ups but I did install a EMG EQ once, it was bloody awful and cost £120, total bland crap, think I've still got it some where, It might sound better coupled up to some EMG p/u's, free to anyone who wants to pay postage!
I guess it depends on what you need from an EQ. The EMG system is transparent and 'colourless' tonally, only providing boost and cut to the frequencies specified in the spec sheet. Therefore, if you send it a bland signal, then that's what you'll get out of it. If you replace it with a certain well known preamp that has a lot of colouring in it, then the EMG will sound flat in comparison. I've heard people reviewing the likes of the EBS Multicomp calling it flat and lifeless too, but again, this is a really transparent pedal not designed to colour the signal at all - i think the same applies to that too. I put EMGs in to my first serious bass many years ago (about 20 I think!) and I've always used them - even when I tried something else, I've come back to EMG. Yeah, great pickups - powerful. I really like that you can make EMGs sound old skool easiliy if you want, but it's much more difficult to get an old skool sounding pickup to sound like a modern EMG. As for guitar pickups - If they're good enough for Dave Gilmour - and of course my fellow LickLibrary tutor and (sometimes band) mate Andy James, then that's a pretty good endorsement I reckon!
