1. It pains me to see this ad mate! I have an acoustic kit in my teaching 'zone' and given the funds would grab this kit in an instant as a replacement; I travel to Kent often. I don't usually like posting 'oh if only' responses, but this is a fiiiiiiiine piece of kit! Good luck with the sale! - I'm asking for a windfall tomorrow please finance gods! Ha! A free bump because the video features my mate
2. Well, I think that's pretty cool. I think it's easy to forget that a massive amount of work goes in to developing and delivering a touring show. It's a shame you can't post too much information about it, but can understand why. Nevertheless, it's great to have heard a bit about it. So it was mainly for lighting, or stage power / FOH too? Either way, it sounds like a massive set of plans!

Hartke LH500
I've just taken delivery of a second hand LH500, bought here on basschat and it has possibly the least number of controls I've ever seen on an amp. Four control knobs marked 'Volume', 'Bass', 'Mid' and 'Treble' and that's it. Am I right in my assumption that the 'Volume' control attenuates the amount of signal from my bass passing into the preamp and then onto the power amp? Most amps I've used in the past have had an input gain control, which attenuates the amount of signal going into the preamp and then a volume control which attenuates the amount of signal passing from the preamp to the power amp. Interestingly, I recently watched a an 'AmpegTV' video on YouTube which demonstrated how to set the levels on an SVT-CL. To get a loud, clean tone, they recommend you wind the ouput volume level control all the way up then control the volume with the input level control. On the LH500, it looks as though they've decided to remove the 'wide open' volume control and allow the user to control the volume by varying the input gain. I may be way off the mark but I'd be interested to hear other, more informed BC'ers thoughts
This is correct, the volume control is actually the gain control for the preamp. The preamp is wired directly to the power amplifier with no master volume control. As you say, it's like the master is all the way up. I've had a few Hartke amps..I still have two and the LH is the cleanest, punchiest amp I've owned. (lH1000) highly recommended.
4.
Not a lot of love for Muse on this forum........ I recently designed the power distribution system for their latest tour. I am really proud of it and wish them all the best
Am I the only one who thought this was a rather cool and impressive job? Without you, things would be a bit dark and quiet, right? lol! Tell us more!
5.
I wouldn't want to be in a band with anyone who uses there where they should be using their. P
Likewise.
6. Thank you! I've replied
7. Price is UK delivered, by the way.
8.
Update for anyone else looking at trying midi. The Peak midi switch arrived, and i had it controlling my rack gear in 10 mins flat. i programmed a couple of banks to change the patches on my PSA and a couple of banks to lay my effects, seperately on top of those. Much easier than I had hoped. Thanks to Dood for his help with this.
No problem at all Chris! I'm a bit of a geek, but I'm happy to share!

10.
Man alive! Rehearsed it today... Sounds brill. Plug n go. Sounded great without fannying... And the most even tone across the entire bass I've ever experienced! Top of the neck on the G string still sounds big and fat and the big open E isn't swampy, it's crisp and tight... Totally went straight to the top of my go-to bass list. I can highly reccommend this bass if anone is fence sitting... It has exceeded my expectations by quite a margin.
Superb! Well happy to hear it! - I have to say, that in my 'job' I get to play some amazing high end basses and I still can't figure how Jon manages to make basses that are truly amazing at his quoted prices he has stuck to for years, usually lower than those on his website. The guy will never be rich, he's waaaay to generous! I love his basses and he is an amazing chap too. We've already designed my next Shuker. The spec is a total peach!
11.
Just took ownership of "Suite 16" My one-off (Serial number "16") Shuker JJB PBass. The Black Headstock, rare Rosewood board and mirror plate was my personal request, and as it was to be a "Special one off" Jon agreed! It plays like the best pbass ever, and tomorrow I shall get to hear it at volume... I'll let you know!
Beeeeyooootifullll! Congrats!
12. Naturally, I have to mention my band mate, Thomas Lang but also my friend and UK session pro Craig Blundell - both playing styles I think are fantastic!
13. I write the bass department in Guitar Interactive Magazine and this OP is something I am very aware of. In every gear review I have done since we started the bass department last year, I haven't 'shredded' once. I play very simple and sometimes repetitive bass parts as it's the gear under review, not my playing. I will do examples of finger style, or maybe chords and a smattering of slap in order for the reviewer to hear in the videos how the bass, amp or pedal sounds. I know my gear - I'm a geek lol but I also know that those reading my reviews are interested in the equipment, not how widdley the reviewer is!
14. A super fast purchase with Mike - Thank you for the expression pedal - arrived well packed and super fast!
15. Would you be interested in selling the expression pedal separately? PM me a price, as I have a B3 that would jolly well like to be paired with such an addition!
16. +1 for the ISP Decimator. i had one built in to an ISP bass preamp. Actually awesome!
17.
Nice one Never realised just how cool the finish on this bass really was!
Thank you! Yes, it's a metallic purple / emerald green flip paint that changes colour, but under certain indoor lights it looks dark blue. Outside in bright sunlight there's a flash of red round the edges too. There's a link to my build diary in my sig below.
18. I was pleased as punch to get an FB tag from fellow BCer Attitude Castle to say that he'd spotted my Shuker Singlecut feature in No Treble magazine as Bass Of The Week! How cool! Read the piece here: http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2012/09/20/bass-of-the-week-shuker-singlecut-elite/ Yayyyyyy!
19. The amp isn't plugged in. lol.
20. Ah, beat me to it Chrismuzz!
21.
No way that's amazing!
Isn't it!
Latest update for the G3 allows this so surely must be in the offing for the B3...
The suggestion from Zoom so far is 'not available, but we'll pass on your suggestion to the development team'. I think it'd be a really good idea to do it, unless they want to keep the B3 limited to make the MS more inviting.
22. The write up suggests six effects at once and the ability to fast toggle between three patches each containing six effects in any order. Having just bought a B3, i'm feeling a bit sick, as this sounds amazing! Come on Zoom, let us have the '6 effects at once' update for the B3 please! P.s i'd like one of these too
23. P.s. if you can't find a Nova Dynamics and can do 'rack' then the TC C300 or C400 are both amazing I had the C300 and changed to the N.D when downsizing.
24. I still do regret selling mine yes! I'd take that review quoted in the OP with a pinch of salt too. Frankly, the person who wrote it should work for one of those 'hifi' companies who manufacture power leads for £100 lol
25.
Kiwi has asked me and dood to admin it when it's live. No rush as the domain is parked for now - but I think it's better to plan properly than rush, as it won't just be a copy and paste of Basschat, p.s. Definitely easier to register new accounts than try and migrate them.
DoooooodChat.co.uk lol
