1. Clever Audio to MIDI interface AND audio recording interface in one!! Mine looks exactly the same as this, boxed, manuals, plastic bag! It is brand new, not a mark on it. i've decided to sell it on as it was a daft impulse buy and I don't really need it. I've upgraded the firmware (literally a five minute job) and have had great fun plugging it in to my iPad via the camera kit and playing synths and other MIDI instruments. I am selling for £95, a huge discount off of the web prices + insured delivery. WEB BLURB: http://www.sonuus.co...cts_i2m_mp.html Continuing from the appeal of the G2M™ and B2M™, the i2M musicport™ combines the features of both these units (to support both guitar and bass) with an optimised USB interface for even faster MIDI performance. Featuring extended MIDI features and configurability to satisfy the most demanding users, and a high-impedance audio interface that won't suck the tone from your instrument, the i2M musicport™ is the new way to connect your musical instruments to your computer. Designed particularly for guitar and bass, it works with most musical instruments including wind instruments and the human voice. Now you can record great-sounding tracks and play synthesizers and samplers how you have always wanted to: by using your favourite instrument. 16-bit, 44·1 kHz/48 kHz digital audio with Hi-Z input preamp. Any musical instrument can be used as a solo MIDI instrument. Optimised settings for: Guitar, 4-String Bass, 5-String Bass and Voice/Wind. No instrument modifications or special pickups required. Robust note detection — minimises wrong notes. Very low latency & ultra-fast tracking. Ultra-fast, accurate MIDI pitch-bend or chromatic mode. Ultra-compact, lightweight and portable. USB bus-powered (no power supply required). Future-proof upgradeable firmware. Plug and Play Using class-compliant USB drivers built into your computer's operating system, and with no special instrument set up required, the i2M musicport™ offers a true plug-and-play experience for all musicians. Ultra-Fast Monophonic MIDI Conversion Although latency is unavoidable when converting musical pitch into MIDI messages, the unique technology used in the i2M musicport™ reduces this to a minimum. Not only is the MIDI conversion extremely fast, but accurate and robust. In fact, the pitch-bend detection of the i2M musicport™ is more accurate than many popular guitar tuners! Fine nuances of your playing are captured by the i2M musicport™: note velocity is determined from how hard you play; and subtle vibrato and bends are converted to ultra-accurate pitch-bend messages with virtually no latency. Everything from the emotional subtlety of a 'cello solo to the most extreme use of a guitar's whammy bar are tracked flawlessly. The optimised USB MIDI interface further minimises latency by intelligently managing data packets and avoiding the inherent delays in the traditional MIDI hardware protocol. Flexible MIDI Architecture The MIDI converter architecture is very flexible and powerful comprising six zones (splits), each with configurable pitch bend, MIDI channel, transpose and other parameters. Hi-Z USB Audio Interface The i2M musicport™ features a very high-impedance (Hi-Z) audio input circuit. This means it won't degrade the tone of your musical instruments, unlike typical "line" inputs — often a problem with electric guitars and dynamic microphones. The input pre-amp also has adjustable gain to accommodate a wide variety of musical instruments. High quality 16-bit, 44·1 kHz (CD quality), and 48 kHz (DVD quality) digital audio can be recorded into your favourite audio application, or used live, for example through amp-simulators with great-sounding results. An ASIO driver (only supported on Windows operating systems) is available to provide low latency audio and features the unique ability to use any other audio device (even other ASIO devices) as the output audio device so you can hear everything you do in real time. Future-Proof (Upgradeable Firmware) To support new features and to make it futureproof, the firmware (internal software) of the i2M musicport™ can be upgraded. This means you can invest with confidence in the i2M musicport™. Pocket-Sized / Gigantic Possibilities Fashioned as an in-line ¼" jack-to-USB adapter, and about the size of a car key-fob, the i2M musicport™ has an ultra-compact design that can easily fit into your pocket. But this tiny box will redefine your musical possibilities. An invaluable composition tool, the i2M musicport™ will let you access new sounds with ease, enable you to create tab and scores, provide you with new inspiration and let you have more fun than you thought possible. Go on: Unlock your music! Desktop Editor Software The i2M musicport™ features a very flexible and powerful MIDI converter architecture with 6 zones enabling MIDI to be sent on up to 6 MIDI channels simultaneously, with each zone being independently configurable. You can customise each of the operating modes for your particular requirements and exchange these settings with other i2M musicport™ users. Four presets can be stored on the i2M musicport™ so you can switch between these without requiring the Desktop Editor Software. This software is available for Microsoft Windows, and OSX (10·5 and above). Note: the i2M musicport™ doesn't include its own MIDI sounds, you must use suitable software (sampler, synthesizer, sound module etc) or your computer to record or to hear the MIDI output.
2. I have a MicroBass II that is in great shape, recently serviced by EBS UK. I've not really found much use for it and thus, I may as well sell it on! £155 INCLUDING insured shipping mainland. Ask for additional overseas cost. I'll get pictures up later
3. Hartke website with cab specs: http://www.samsontec...cabinets/4.5xl/ Professionals choose the XL Series because of its carefully calibrated and tuned cabinet design and high quality aluminum-cone drivers. XLs produce a smooth response along with the clear, punchy attack that changed the sound of bass. Each cabinet is built tough with a shockproof metal grill, reinforced corners, recessed carry handles and a rugged covering. Maximum impact. Four Hartke 10" drivers and a custom 5" high-frequency speaker in a tuned, ported cabinet. Handles up to 400 watts at 8 ohms. Wide frequency response of 30 Hz to 12 kHz for more coverage. Ultimate Hartke. "Expanded-Design" Tuned, Ported Cabinet Custom Hartke 5" Aluminum-Cone High-Frequency Driver Four Hartke XL 10" Aluminum-Cone Bass Drivers Power Handling: 400 Watts @ 8 Ohms Frequency Response: 30 Hz To 12 kHz Sensitivity: 99 dB @ 1 W/1 M Voice Coil: 1.5" Magnet Weight: 60 Oz. Parallel 1/4" Inputs Dimensions: 27"(H) X 24"(W) X 18"(D) Weight: 99 lb. 4. I've got a few items I'm putting up for sale over the next day or so, first of which is my other 4.5XL cabinet to that of the one I sold here http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1685376 recently. This model is much newer. I *think* it's a couple of years old and although has gigged has been treated very carefully in terms of volume. Like the other cabinet I have had a Speakon connector added as well as the jack sockets, so that it can be used with heads that use Speakon connectors too. I have also added four large rubber heavy duty wheels, but I may pilfer those for something else! (If i leave 'em on, it's a freebie, but they aren't cheap ones!!) So, cosmetically, the cab could do with the odd corner being 'fuzz busted', as the carpet has been roughed up a little. Some signs of carpet lifting edges, but nothing at all to worry about. I'm afraid I can't sell this one as cheaply as the first cabinet. However, you're still getting a tremendous deal at £200 Shipping would be difficult as it is a substantial cabinet with a monster large tone! I'd be happy to 'meet halfway' within reason and compensated for the usual fuel, sustinence, time, space blah blah. I'll get some pictures up soon, in the meantime, expect a reply or two with website links and specs on.

New Zoom B3
Not too sure about the scroll function, but I could see that being incredibly useful for setting up Amp, EQ and Compression, and just leaving them on, then having 3 effects you're using as the 'active' displays.
Now that's an idea I really like.
6. Great to have you aboard! Any more? ;0)
7. It reminds me that many years ago I was part of a world record breaking achievement. We had the most amount of guitarists playing the same song together for the longest time over two cities in the UK. No idea what happened to my certificate though! And speaking of large collections of musicians together, congrats to those who were part of the Stick It To MS event. 800 drummers playing the same rhythms in the same place at the same time. That I bet is an incredible feat! Probably way more harmonious than a visit to the LBGS he he he he!
8. Hi! The action can indeed go crazy low i think! This one isn't at the moment. It has been set for a moderate to firm playing style, but easily adjusted, of course. Personally I like mine very low too, but there's not a single buzz or rattle to be heard at the moment. I don't think i've seen any clips of a Parker 5 of this model in isolation. Mebbe I should find time to record a quick demo! It's just a great sounding bass. Those ultra jazz pups are great! I've liked Dimarzio pickups for ages too. Mixing with the piezo is a really nice touch as well as running he piezo alone for acoustic sounds. A really flexible instrument.
9.
hello...? if y that rich buy a fodera or alembic u dumbass. altho i do like old burners. but the rest of em, to clean cut nice guy.
PM'd
10. Somewhat surprisingly still available! Offers considered. The photographs don't do this beautiful bass justice really. I think when we finally get some daytime sun, I'll take some more pictures.
11.
...but I must have blown and replaced 6 aluminium 10" speakers over the years I had it
Crickey! I've had Alu cones for donkeys years at a time and only managed to blow one cone - and that was my own fault! Sounds like you've had a bit of bad luck!
12.
I do like the more recent HyDrive stuff. They need to join the lightweight gang though... even Ampeg has now!
The HyDrive gear is all Neodymium and a huge weight saving on the XL range - I agree though, I think the LH1000 with a really good D Class 1KW power amp would be just awesome. Dead simple and masses of Hartke girth !
13. Here's maself n' Junior having a bit of a chinwag. - I think I must have had my jaw wired that day, I sound ... odd! Maybe gritting my teeth trying not to blurt out 'i love you ' or something ha ha!! - I jest of course, it was very cool interviewing a bit of a bass hero and fellow Hartke endorsee.
14. I'm happy that you spelt my mate Dave's surname wrong too ;o) he he he - Thank you though Kilo is still kicking out buckets of low end!
15. Gareth, there seems to be a name missing from that legendary list!! *hint* ;o) LOL
16. The Tone Pump curcuit is well know for it's 'valve sound' like properties. It was designed using FET circuitry that can gently compress instead of distorting or just simply brickwall limiting when it reaches it's peak head room. It therefore sounds a little softer in certain settings, but dropped in the mix with a smidge of eq it sounds amazing straight to PA. i gigged a Euro 6LX at festival straight to DI and the engineer was very pleased. In that case, it was definitely the pre. My two main basses, Shuker customs both feature the same pickups as he Spector but using the standard EMG bass/treble circuit at 18v. 'softening' would be the last word i'd use to describe it! The flat tone is aggressive with lots of mids and top end ting on new strings. The lw end kicks like a mule. Add EQ and i'm pleased the pickups are capable in pretty much any genre. So, to sum up, could be the tone pump in the Spector. Maybe try it without any compression on your amp should you use it and dial in some trebles. Oh and remember that the zero/flat setting on the tone pump is not halfway round the dial like other EQ's. You are boisting both treble and bass by that point. That has the same affect as scooping mids which will soften your bite and attack too.

New Zoom B3

That'd make the B3 a pretty amazing piece of gear and one of the only things on my wish list that it didn't have. I'd buy new if that was an added feature!
18.
So to avoid anyconfusion I have just taken a (bad) photo of new LH1000 so you can see how they are shipped from us. As you can see we have a brown outer carton (often thrown away by the store), This is followed by the Inner Carton that is printed with images , spec etc for display should it be required by the store/outlet, You then have the white polystyrene end pieces to support the head in the box and the head itself is then sealed in a heavy duty polythene bag. In addition to that you have a manual (wahoo!) and a power cable. The tape used by the factory is clear so any change to this suggest the unit has been opened although bear in mind the amp may not have been used so it could be brand new. Hope this clears up any confusion. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gareth Underwood Samson and Hartke Brand Manager ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is what brilliant customer service looks like. Well done Hartke UK!
19. Hi, i'm afraid you've posted in the wrong forum, but don't worry, I'll move the post for you now
20.
121 likes when I last checked the page! Well done! (What does your pseudo-OCD think of that number? )
Ha ha! It was a nice surpise when I logged on this morning! Not bad for less than a day. Makes me sure that the community page is a good idea!
Three of my Facebook friends have joined already before I even noticed this thread. And one's a drummer too!
Excellent! Yes, although it's called East Anglian Bass Players, the idea is that all musicians can be part of the page too. However, i know how difficult it is to find available bass players around here, what with all the grass down the middle of the roads and that all forms of transport in Norfolk have straw bails attached to the boot i jest of course! It's hopefully going to make finding band mates easier in this area. I'd like to get as many BassChatters involved because I think it could also help to direct traffic to BassChat thus widening the audience and community here too.
21. ha ha! Like it! Having some good feedback about the page in messages already which is really good! I hope it can be a useful service for local musicians!
22. He he he!!! I overlooked how the name may look on other people's feeds! I'm only glad now that I didn't make an embarrassing typo!
23. Thanks fella! - It's growing steadily since lunch time which is great to see. I'd invite anyone - whatever the instrument or location to get involved. Feel free to add me on FB too, that's cool! www.facebook.com/DoodOnBass
24.
TBH we've had far more success with the physical printed press pack than any of the EPKs that we've sent out. These days anyone can cobble together something in the virtual world and email it out. Having a printed kit with an actual CD attached that has been sent in the post shows an additional level of commitment which can make all the difference when dealing with promoters etc.
Point well made. The same as any job application, use the EPK in conjunction with physical media (even if it's just a letter) and telephone calls.
25. Hi all!! As a local bass player in the region (as I know many of you are too) I often get asked if I know 'such-n-such' or if I know of any available bass players for a dep gig or stand-in locally. I get 'phone calls in to my Bass Tuition business asking lots of bass and band related questions too which is cool and I like to help. So, I thought it'd be cool to get a community page together for the East Anglian region. The reason being that should a dep gig come up, it'd be say, within an hours drive or so - or for example, buying and selling kit in the local area, it'd make it easier to travel to the destination. Anyway, I want this page to be used in conjunction with BassChat of course! Please do head on over - it doesn't matter if you aren't local to East Anglia, everyone is welcome! https://www.facebook...lianBassPlayers and whilst I'm at it, here's the Bass Tuition bit too!
