1. Niiiiiiiiiiice! Sounds like a dream rig to me ;0) its a shame Hartke aren't offering a lightweight 'gig bag' solution like the Streamliner. But the Kilo is a tremedous beast!
2. You know it Rik! That was a day to behold!!! Thank you Larry
3. Hi all - it's true, the 'old' version was never put in to production despite the advertising and marketing blurb being sent to online stores etc. Thing is, the original design was pulled a loooooooong time ago due to Larry Hartke wanting to redesign the head. So, it's bad form for these online stores to have not bothered updating their sites with the new and correct specifications. The Kilo has been out for a while now. I received mine back in October and it has been delivering by the truck load. - I've even done a review of it in the...errr... reviews section! (Pictures n' all!) http://basschat.co.uk/topic/167916-hartke-kilo-1000w-bass-head/
4. Ok, moved for ya!
5. Raggy, your whole signal path looks pretty damn amazing! I can only imagine how good it sounds!
6. Ok, I'd planned to do some nice photos of me demonstrating how I could fix any of the three tuners I mentioned above on to my headless Shuker bass. Well, it would have been pointless. The planet waves mini sadly had nothing to attach to despite it's ratchet locking clip.Very secure on my other instruments though! Next up, the Snark. The biggest sized jaws on it's clip of all three. I could sort of get it to hang on to the nut clamp, but fell off easily. Both the Snark and the Korg Pitchclip could easily be clipped on to one oftye control knobs and actually functioned properly picking up the instruments vibrations. However they would no doubt be in the way of operations. So to sum up, on my headless bass at least, none of the three offer a permanent solution. On my headed basses, the Planet Waves is great as it is so small. I think is some rare cases an odd shape headstock could cause viewing angle problems as you only have an up and down axis on which the clamp pivots. That leaves the Korg with it's flip out display and the ability to be moved about using the clamp. Probably the most flexible for other instruments but at the same time being as inconspicuous as possible. If it's functionality you require, the Snark tuner has a built in microphone as well as the ability to pick up instrument vibrations AND a metronome on board to with a 'tap tempo' button. Three brilliant tuners each with their own strengths.... And weaknesses.
7. P.s. the distorting is just where the levels haven't been set up quite right yet and can be sorted quite quickly depending on how you configure.
8. I'd say pop the Paradriver away in your gig bag as the X3 can do all the things the paradriver can and a whole lot more on it's own, including driving a power amp directly. Shame you don't live closer as i used to own a PD and X3 so am familiar with getting one to sound like the other. I'll move your post too for ya!
9.
....an AV sender unit, a 3 mobile PAYG mobile dongal, a 22" innertube
Quality musically related merchandise, of course :surprised: ;0)
10. Oh MY!! I had no idea! So so sad - I've got a few BT albums as my Dad is a huge fan - Her work with Dil Katz pretty much made me buy a fretless bass way back when. Certainly I hadn't been following her career for many years now and I wasn't aware of this.
11. I'm having massive pangs to get etched again and you sir aren't helping one little bit! Yeah, nice I like that a lot!
12. Thanks for the reply iKay! Hmmm interesting!!
13. Great video - I think it (the amp) works well with that tasty P bass!
14. I can certainly recommend the Licklibrary DVDs - ok, I may be a little biased ;o) but Danny and Andy are awesome musicians and we have a good laugh on stage too. Very talented guys and the DVDs are very informative.
15. Has anyone had any experience with using one of these as a kinda 'notator' - I mean, firstly for just recording bass lines as MIDI parts but then also using it to 'score' with. I appreciate it won't be clever enough to work out positions on the neck for 'tabs' but wondered how it faired for just getting a line down in MIDI?
16. Aaa Cheers Pete! Thank you for the info'! Look forward to hearing clips!
17. Hey Simon, do you have anything recorded? Would like to hear more of the individual settings.
18. /subscribed! would like to hear about these too. I've seen some Youtube Bass reviews that feature them and I like what I hear.
19. Ok, so i haven't done it yet... Sorry!
20. It's very hard to describe tone! But i've had plenty of basses with EMGs and a couple with Barts in as well. Really it's going to be impossible to answer for sure in your case. I know of one Sei owner who did the same as your situation. He (and his guitarist) both said that for recording the Bart J's sounded awesome but for live the replacement EMG DC pickups just had so much more presence in the mix. I have to say that my own experience was the same and have been using the DCs in my basses for a long while. i guess it depends on the kind of music you are playing and tonal set up. This is by no means belittling Bart' pickups.
21. Hi, i have to say, i thiught the SD QP was exactly that, plenty of output and lots of mids! SD do a more vintage type pickup too, but there are a whole host of great passive pickups you can take a look at from the likes of Wizard and Delano to name just two. why not look out for a Fender reissue pickup too? I'd really like to give one of the Dimarzio pickups a go in one of my P basses.. The Will Power or maybe Model P. Sorry, I can't be more precise than that as i've been an 'active EMG' user for years!
22. Awww thank you Jackers!! - Adam, ok, I'll get on to that at some point!! ;o)
23. Get me a 6 string with a 16mm spacing Ned! Here's a funny story. I asked EMG to make me a set of their soapbars with a curved top to match the radius of my Bass. I thought as I'd been using EMGs exclusively for over 15 years they might at least register some interest. Think I needed to be a big company making shed loads of basses!! They said no they wouldn't help lol.
24. Finally if you would like to see the head in action, reviewed in Guitar Interactive Magazine by Tim Slater, here's a link to the Bass section. It's free to read!
