1. You will need to specify a fixed price for all as a set or individual price them as per the T&C's, thank you!
2. I larrrrrffffffed out louuuuuuuud!
3. As promised - I've reviewed the OTB 500 and my colleague the Hartke Kilo both in the brand new issue (7) of the FREE Guitar Interactive Magazine. Check out http://www.iguitarmag.com To go straight to my Bass department click 'ere: http://licklibrary.ceros.com/iguitarmag/iguitarmag-issue-7-johnny-marr-guitar-interactive/issue7/page/152
4. Can you still do the 'steam' thing through lacquer then? I thought the idea was too keep moisture out?!
5. His profile suggests that he hasn't been about since the 23rd, hopefully he'll have email notifications set up for PMs and will be in touch soon.
6. Wow, i need to go through this thread post by post! So many great songs posted. Ok, my addition is (when played properly) is Gnossiene No.1 by Eric Satie. In the right mood it is just astounding. Really.
7. Likewise, i havent tried a different browser yet. I've just installed Atomic that looks great, but yet to try the PM facility.
8. Great thread! I had a Snark bought for me as a prezzie and I also currently have in my possession the Planet Waves Mini and also the Korg Pitchclip. I'm going to have a play with all three and then get back to you all as a very important question has been raised. What to do if you do not have a headstock? Standby for a test or three!
9. So maybe a modelling pedal that can do a variant of those three then? Pod, Zoom B3 etc, if you want to use a single pedal solution. An idea I guess. Or something like the Line 6 X3 or Boss GT10b for a multi?
10. Lemme rephrase that.. I believe that Justin uses the GT2 with a blended signal path for that dirty sound. Correct me if i am wrong, but i feel sure i've heard him discuss it at some point.
11. I think the beast you are looking for is the Sansamp GT2! You may find that you will want to mix in a clean bass sound too by means of a loop pedal to add some bottom end back in.
12. Ok ok ok guys, the cash is in the post! ;0) No honestly, I genuinely mean this: Thank you for the kind words, it's very much appreciated and I'm happy that you've enjoyed my sessions as much as I have delivering. I love my job and can't think of anything better than playing Bass all day and sharing the low end goodness! Iconic, I've ping'd you a reply back.
13.
I'd get onto the people who run the site and complain
I know! Then when I've done that, I'll have a moderator fired! It's..... It's..... An outrage!
14. Oh wow, first time i've noticed... The head of my little predator dude is missing! <<<<<<<<<<< must edit!
15. Predator never sleeps! ;0)
16. Thank you StraightSix! Much appreciated! Iconic, I'd be happy for you to come over to my studio for a 1-2-1. Feel free to ping me a PM.
17. Hi, I have the Kilo in my rig and yes at some point I will do a bit of tube rolling with it - something i've done with most valve amps i have owned. Although I haven't looked under the hood yet, I'm expecting to find Sovteks, maybe the ElectroHarmonix/ GT choice, the 12AX7WA .. My personal taste in valve is the telefunken style valves like the JJ ECC83S (premium model) that definitely has a different character to the Sovteks. More upper mids and zingy top end.. Although in some ive found that it sounds like they have less wooly bottom end, mthus making them sound clearer vs the Sovteks. Reading reviews, valve amp purists say the first valve in guitar amps is the 'critical position' and thus i'd stick the best quality valve in there... But what 'flavour' is personal choice. Mr Foxen is quite correct, if a valve is part of a distortion circuit, then you may have to look at the right valve fornthe job, as say a Mullard sounds different to a GT sounds different to a.. Etc etc. You could buy a selection of valves and try a few out over a few gigs / rehearsals to see what you like best? Maybe let us know how you get on! Oh, caveat time, be careful when changing valves!
18. Hi Iconic, where in Norfolk are you?
19. The action on my Shuker 6 is incredibly low and set up for a light touch. The last six months or so I was playing some brutal metal material that sounded better with a bit of digging in.. the only problem is that the tuning was down to Bb (semi-tone) enough to rattle and buzz my lovely set up. I actually bought another bass just to play the material on so I didn't have to mess with my Shuker!! So for me, anything that messes with my set up is a total b@ll@ache!!
20. Cocco, I can't confirm this, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that the neck was modelled on a '62 Jazz profile. I've not ever played a '62 Jazz so I can't add anything to that - but it's slim, fast and feels great! The ATE control is brilliant and at the quick twist of the control near the bridge you can go from scoopy slap to parpy Jaco mids. These basses are fantastic and even mine, which I think is an '89 with it's worn finish still plays like a dream.
21. I have one in red... wonderful bass - if I wasn't looking for other gear right now, I'd be all over this one! Free bump on me!
22. I'll be there with my buddies from Hartke! Last year it was fits n' giggles, so no doubt mre of the same this year! I'll be wearing a suit and a red rose on my lapel..... Oh wait, that's a different sort of meet up isn't it? The code phrase is 'rats fly at dawn, the pig is down'.. You haven't seen me right? Tally ho!
23. Ahhh yes! We played that track live in London amongst others and it sounded sooooooo good!
