1. Hi all, Please include an area / region in your advert title so that potential responders can search through the adverts more easily. We are looking to implement a way of filtering posts - this would certainly help but is most beneficial for you, bands. Please also include area / region information in the 'topic tags' box too to aid forum searching. We may look at imposing rules later to ensure that the forum can be kept as tidy as possible, but for now, please help us - and well, in the long run, help yourselves get the musicians you want! Thank Doooooooooooood
2. Thank you Rik! I appreciate feedback so that I can improve my lessons - this is great to read I have a brand new studio now, so the teaching environment is even more comfortable and tailored for playing music!
3. Please could you all edit your posts to include the area you teach in the body text as well as the title to make it easier for potential students to find you. Please also include it in the tags, as well as 'Skype', 'FaceTime', 'MSN' if you teach remotely as well. It's gotta help, so it's up to you to do so! Dooooooood.
4. Hi NIM, I spotted you have three adverts in this month posted, so I've taken your best one of the three and cleared the other two for you. Feel free to update just the one advert instead. Just makes it a bit easier to find a tutor without trawling through duplicate pages. Cheers.
5. Ok folks, take your personal disagreements elsewhere. This thread is no longer about ERBs.. disappointed I am.
6.
My point was that several people on here chose to be deliberately offensive and provocative knowing full well that the player in question would probably read their comments. That's just spiteful. We don't have to like everyone's music or playing, but we have a choice about how we express that distaste.
agreed. And I can't see any other good reason to keep this thread alive. If you haven't got anything good to say, it's usually best not to say anything. There's been some pretty sh*tty comments on this thread - amazes me how some behave.
7. Ey Jason! ;0) I've just read through the thread and would like to add my own experiences. I've been a Rotosound user for many years and certainly would press that the new strings (post machine update) have been fine. I havent had any faulty strings at all. I am a sweaty tike and i do kill strings a lot quicker than some if i am gigging alot, but they, including the massive 175 gauge F# strings sound really good.
8. P.s. bun fight over, please.
9. Fez-157, probably wasn't the best idea to use other people's pictures for your first advert without saying before hand! I see that you were able to edit your post, which was a wise move. Any way, to help ensure there are no more misunderstandings, it's probably best to post your own 'photos in future. We have a very close knit community of bass players across the UK, so although it's easy to find pictures of UK basses on the net.. They probably belong to BassChat members as you've found out. As always, Caveat Emptor, try before you buy.
10. Bump! Calling Steve 'Stickman'!
11.
Andy James
Ive played with Andy in a local band for a good few years and after a little break i'm back working with him again, so hopefully we'll be out soon tearingbsome faces off
12. Yeah really nice tasteful playing! Groooooooooovy! i've recently had the pleasure of playing the Nathan East 30th anniversary Yamaha BBNE2 bass and gotta say, it was stonkingly good! Bit like Nathan really!
13. Cheers Ewan mate, no i hadn't seen those! I'll check 'em out!
14. I've recently had the pleasure of gigging with all my fellow Licklibrary tutor guitarists, Andy James, Jamie Humphries, Mike Casswell, Danny Gill and Stuart Bull. Add to the mix, Pin (ex-Sikth) who i worked with in a band for a cuppla years, Steve Smyth (Forbidden/Nevermore/Testament) from a recent project and Jamie Hunt (ex-biomechanical) and the superb Leah Woodward who plays with Pin in the band Aliases, i reckon they are amongst my fave guitarists and friends. They all have their own styles and feel, even if some are in to brutal tech metal!
15. I like it a lot! I'm a fan of two/three aside headstocks!
16. Certainly been enjoying the Dirty Loops videos that have been appearing on YouTube. Really talented bass player. Hmmmm, not sure actually - really been listening to more guitarists for a bit of influence recently. Mike Casswell, Jamie Humphries and my buddy Andy James who I'm doing some stuff with at the moment. Great players!
17. I reckon you'll be getting lots of requests to help design other BCers basses too! That looks really cool!
18. I would like to use the word 'nommmmmmm' to describe my delight at these fine pictures!
19.
Anyone interested freely has my email, address and phone. If they find the neck's tempremental nature a problem that they can not handle, I'd be happy to take it back off them for the sale price providing I get it back in the same state it left me in.
An invitation to view the bass for assessment is the right way forward. Caveat Emptor always applies in a purchase on BassChat.
20. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/129198-list-of-acceptable-items-for-sale-in-this-forum/ Under the link above, licensed Software is not allowed, however driver discs are fine as is the sale of hardware interfaces. Dood, Über Mod ;0)
21. Correctly made in-ears also have to go to a specific depth to help alleviate the 'occlusion effect'. Looking at the moulds in this video, I'd say they weren't anywhere near that required. Clever idea though, it'll work for staff in hifi shops chucking out cheap in ears for the general consumers.
22.
http://www.musik-schmidt.de/gb-TecAmp-Puma-900-1HU.html
I guess I should have qualified my statement with 'in the UK' on the end! Sorry, but yes, mthank you for the link!
23. Thank you for the feedback Bren'. My plan is based on the point you have made actually. I can't really be dealing with too much 'on the flight deck' as it were. Really a volume control and pickup selector is enough. I'd like to have an eq controllable with preset style pots instead of ones on the front of the bass, so I can tailor the voice of the instrument, set and leave then use my back line to adjust stage sound. All the electronics and controls could then be out the way, set and left. I think with this in mind I am looking at a bespoke solution, or I have to use an external eq if necessary.
