FS feeler* EBMM '95 Sterling *CLOSED* not interested do not post.
Dood replied to Prime_BASS's topic in Basses For Sale
Anyone interested freely has my email, address and phone. If they find the neck's tempremental nature a problem that they can not handle, I'd be happy to take it back off them for the sale price providing I get it back in the same state it left me in.
An invitation to view the bass for assessment is the right way forward. Caveat Emptor always applies in a purchase on BassChat. -
Correctly made in-ears also have to go to a specific depth to help alleviate the 'occlusion effect'. Looking at the moulds in this video, I'd say they weren't anywhere near that required. Clever idea though, it'll work for staff in hifi shops chucking out cheap in ears for the general consumers.

Sorry, but yes, mthank you for the link!

On board Bass preamps with switchable Bass frequencies?
Dood replied to Dood's topic in Accessories and Misc
Thank you for the feedback Bren'. My plan is based on the point you have made actually. I can't really be dealing with too much 'on the flight deck' as it were. Really a volume control and pickup selector is enough. I'd like to have an eq controllable with preset style pots instead of ones on the front of the bass, so I can tailor the voice of the instrument, set and leave then use my back line to adjust stage sound. All the electronics and controls could then be out the way, set and left. I think with this in mind I am looking at a bespoke solution, or I have to use an external eq if necessary. -
Hmmm, maybe my messages were getting sent to their spam bin then lol! I wrote in english, though I suspect it wouldn't have made a difference in either as in general our german counterparts speak perfect english! as language speakers, we're really rubbish in comparison!

Hi shizznit! Sorry, totally missed your reply! Yes, certainly give Jon a bell for a chat, at least to say hi and that if he's unable to chat at the time, to say that you're sending a mail I guess. That way you're covering the bases. Though certainly if he is a bit nose deep in neck carving, arrange a time to have a proper natter as he'll want to discuss what you are looking for. Better still, arrange a day to go up and see him. It's a long trip for me up to Sheffield, but his instruments are worth a trip out to LA, I promise you that! Thankfully, he's a lot closer!!

The 900 looks great, but I'm sure it's rarer than the proverbial rocking horse poop. No one ever answers info' request emails at Tec Amp any more, so trying to find out more about them is a futile exercise it seems! Maybe Tec Amp don't need to sell any lol!

Hi voxpop! Sounds great, looking forward to seeing your new baby! Yup, I actually agree. 9 months is still nothing for a completely custom build. My 7 string was also a complete custom from scratch and took 9 months too. Which is still a lot less time than some other top luthiers. I'm pretty sure that there are plenty who will also agree that they have played basses costing way more that aren't nearly as good as Jon's workmanship. Speaking of Jon in particular, I have offered to be a contact to ask about Shuker basses and Jon is happy with, so if anyone wants to ask anything I can do my best to help, or act as a messenger for Jon as I know he's a busy boy operating noisy machines all day. I know that he does appreciate everyone being patient. He's actually not been so well recently which has affected time scales, but even if it took two years to build a bass, it is still totally worth it. Here's one man with a lot of people wanting basses built yesterday! You're gonna love this bass!

On board Bass preamps with switchable Bass frequencies?
Dood replied to Dood's topic in Accessories and Misc
Cheers guys - yes, it seems information is a bit thin on the ground around interweb world! I'll have a nose at ACG/East too. -
Hi all, Ok so I know there are plenty of bass preamps on the market with the ability to tailor the mid frequency centres and the treble too, but other than going for a bespoke design ( I have one or two in mind) are there any off the shelf that can at least switch between a couple of centres at least? Better still, sweep-able?

After picking up a 'project' MM bass recently in a trade I've become a bit of an MM fan! - The pickups on my other basses have a light MM rasp to them which is nice, but I'm really liking what I am getting off this instrument. I'm gonna have a look around, but I'm thinking about putting an MM pickup in one of my basses. I've looked at the obvious, Delano, Wizard, Aero and Nordstrand for a 6 string version of an MM - but who have I missed? The Delano looks great as it comes in two different casings as standard - I know that I could get a custom shell made up too, but for now I'm just seeing who is making 6 string versions of said pup.
-
I actually agree. I would hope that a 1-2-1 with such a bass would coax some better tones out of it - but I wasn't a fan of what I was hearing tonally. I'd have to swap the pups out - but then, for that money I'm afraid I would save a packet and go custom. Even my Shuker 7 string wasnt that expensive, sorry Ibanez, please rethink!!

Cheers visog, yes I'd seen this one and the GV video, but as I suspected there's very little of anything else with regards to seeing this mythical beast in action!

I joined yesterday but ceased to make an introduction..

Well... Music, Norfolk: From the world of music, the beautiful North Norfolk Coast inspires the heart-wrenching and emotional songs from singer/songwriters James Blunt from Cley-next-the-Sea, and David Gray at his seaside holiday home near Hunstanton. Roger Taylor, drummer and backing vocalist of iconic rock band Queen was born in King's Lynn in 1949. Cathy Dennis and Beth Orton are from Norwich. English classical pianist, television presenter, and former member of the UK pop group Hear'Say Myleene Klass is from Gorleston near Great Yarmouth. Also from Gorleston is Hannah Spearritt, actress and former S Club 7 singer. Rick Wakeman lives near Diss. Also living near Diss is Mick Taylor who was a member of The Rolling Stones before leaving to be replaced by Ronnie Wood . Blues Legend 'Seasick Steve' now lives in South Norfolk. Ed Graham, drummer of Lowestoft band The Darkness, was born in Great Yarmouth and has his studio in Norfolk. The Stranglers released an album called Norfolk Coast, and the Norfolk Broads are mentioned in the David Bowie song Life on Mars. -

Hi Emily... Ahhh great game! But I'm afraid that where I live, the contenders are.. Ummm... Let me think.. This county has churned out Cathy Dennis and The Darkness. Oh and 'A'. That's about it.. Unless you count 80's hairspray hell band FM. Norfolk and Suffolk must have spewed out more surely? Hmmm.. Will try google! -
Giving a member a chance before you leave negative feedback!

Given the time that has passed and the lack of response from the seller, you are perfectly within your rights to air your grievance. I'm disappointed that the BCer in question has made no attempt at being in touch. You know who you are, please at least drop me or any of the moderating team a PM. -
I was yes! I arrived really late due to traffic, but Craig gave me a heads up for when they were going on. John ( on the door) spotted me,and didn't even wait for a ticket; just stamped me and said 'get in there!' I had 5 mins to get a pint and the boys kicked off. Blooming brilliant!

It seems the low end talent runs in the family as brother Nathan is also an awesome bass player. He's playing with my buddy Craig Blundell and John Mitchell (It Bites) and song writer type Jem Godfrey in one of my face bands Frost* right now and they are awesome! Get ya prog on!

I was asked if I wanted to interview Chris recently, but sadly I was busy on the day he was free! Gutted!! -
Hey chap! Yup, ping me a message / email that's cool. Yes, I'm afraid once again other music work has been keeping me busy... Damn I love my job! But I will do a kilo + hx112's review on YouTube soon! Ahhh the Doodle rocks! Infact I'm loving her lil sister! The 6er is more about speed and control which translates to a real slick paying surface and I'm looking to prototype a few ideas of my own to test a theory or two! As for digging in, I'd say I am firm with the instrument but I don't waste energy by digging in to hard. Let the pickups, electronics and amplification work for you and concentrate on honing technique. A big plus for me is using a ramp. It actually stops you from digging in anyway, acting a bit like a mechanical version of a leveller or limiter! Incidentally, I've also seen that myung's basses now have 5 string necks on them but are 6ers, thus depending on width he'll be using something like a 14-16mm spacing too. I have a feeling my Conklin 7er I had years ago was a 15mm so I can totally see where it would benefit.. Really looking forward to trying a 14mm. I reckon I'll still be able to slap it too!
