One important point that always bugs me in discussions like this. The IEC 60320 connectors/lead found on musical equipment ARE NOT THE SAME AS A KETTLE LEAD. The connectors found on musical equipment are the C13 (female) and C14 (male). They are rated at 15A and up to 70°C temperature. The temperature rating is the important bit, because as you know water boils at 100°C and therefore the connectors used on kettles need to be rated accordingly. The IEC 60320 connectors for kettles are the C15 (female) and C16 (male). They have a temperature rating of 120°C making them suitable for appliances that boil water. Also they are a different shape, the plug having an additional cut out and the socket having a corresponding locator ridge. This means that a lead with a C13 connector which doesn't have the correct temperature rating won't fit into the socket on a kettle. Only leads with a C15 plug on them are kettle leads, because only they fit a kettle. The leads that came with your musical equipment will all have been fitted with C13 plugs which will not fit the socket on a kettle, and therefore are not kettle leads.
Thank you! I was just about to go outside and shoot myself! - 'Kettle leads' is a phrase that irks me more than people calling D-Class amplification 'Digital'. - I remember posting such a description of the differences between the two plug and socket types a while back & thank you for doing it his time!

I can find reasons for picking each part out of my chain to comment on as to why it has a bearing on my 'tone' or Bass sound. I chose to select 'Cab' this time - My cabinets are well known for having a particular 'tone' to them and I have been through a lot of gear to return to the very same cabs again - so it must be something about them that just works for me.
Thanks very much, I was hoping it was something as simple as that.... I will have a fiddle round inside over the next few days and post the results, if I haven't fried myself! EDIT: This head is actually a beast for fuses when switching it on - it blows fuses in kettle leads and distribution boards, and even trips mains fuses sometimes.
I'd say if it is blowing fuses (of the correct value) then it's a good time to get it checked out by a professional. The fuse in the power lead should be 13A - and if there is a fuse in a cartridge on the back of the amp then check it's the correct value and type (e.g slow blow). If it's tripping a distribution board, then alarm bells should be ringing ;o) Good luck, I hope the fix isn't costly!
In Premium, I understand you can 'save' tracks for running locally and furthermore at 320k bit rate. Are they stored locally as MP3's or in Spotify's propriety file system?
I'd asked as I'm deciding if I wanna go premium or not. I know I use my MP3 player a massive amount and having tracks dropped on to it would be brilliant whilst I am out and about. What I don't wanna end up doing though is not making enough use of the premium service - I really don't spend 10 quid a month on CDs. Though I wonder how much that is due to Spotify Free being available.
Yup - Had one myself. It isolates that one output of the Daisy Chain and then doubles the voltage to give you an 18v supply for just one pedal. Great little unit.
Thanks for the information Higgie! - I'd never thought about 'DC Pump' before and usually stuck with separate PSU's. That'll lighten the rack unit a bit!
Discount the fact that you can`t remember the specifics, and look at it from another point of view. Why had this supposed legitimate buyer not cashed £375 which was supposedly owed him? It`s a hell-of a sum of money to not cash, especially when you have sent an item back in good faith. My thoughts are that said bass that was returned was probably a fake, and that they kept the real one. Western Union Overeas Buyer (not an issue on its own, I might add, I`ve dealt with overseas buyers, and no problems, don`t want to offend anyone here) Supposed Issues - minor Asking for refund Forgets to cash £375 Item returned All of the above put together, in my view, stinks. And as others have said, check your bank account - £375 leaving yr account will be easy to identify. And, shot in the dark here, did you keep records of the serial numbers of the bass that was sent, and the one that was returned.
It does sound like a classic scam - the kinda thing 419 Eaters would go to town on. I agree with ensuring the first cheque is properly stopped and can not be cashed before entertaining the idea of sending another.
+1 I did around 6 years on and off from around 17 yrs old , and it was good grounding . It's pretty much all feel (as I found it) , especially the Western swing , or maybe the Outlaw stuff (Waylon Jennings etc) . If it's Country and Irish , it's unlikely to be of the Ricky Scaggs frantic pace . Just enjoy it , as if it's a proper Irish boozer , prepare for a great night . They'll love the band , forgive you for almost anything , and likely to be well hammered by the end . If they've got a switched on drummer , then you're set . Just enjoy it mate , I guarantee it by the 2nd set you'll be in full swing . You will let us know how it went I hope ?
The first 'proper' band I was in - age 13 or something was a Country and Western band! Yes, honestly! - But I learned a massive amount fast. The set list seemed a mile long and I have to admit that a few of those songs are in my guilty pleasures list! ha! Well, that's my prog metal reputation down the swanee!

You are quite correct, Hartke do not make a 2x10 in the Hydrive range. I can't say I totally agree with it being an oversight on their part - It was more of a manufacturing decision; I know that Hartke were keen to keep the price of the range as affordable as possible. Larry himself received stacks of requests for all different configurations of cabs including 6x10's and 2x12's - but as I understand it, wanted to keep the range manageable. I think the Hydrive 410 is probably one of the most compact 4x10's on the market and thus making a 2x10 to fill the gap between the 1x12 was probably a bit pointless. I can understand your frustration, but probably a bit harsh to call the guys at the show brain dead - they were able to field my own questions and I'm a tech-head!

Sadly I feel I may be giving up, 20 years to almost the day but I am not in any band and I rarely pick up my gear, it may change in the future but will have to see Hope your well.
Ahhh mate, really sorry to hear it! - Yes, all is well here. Still teaching low enders and keeping out of mischief! Dooooooood.
Would the 210XL be okay with my 115TP in the short term? Until I can upgrade the TP to an XL! Would I notice much difference in sound replacing my 410TP with the 210XL?
The speakers and cabinet design of the 210XL will give you a far better performance - however - the 410 has double the amount of speakers and can therefore move more air. I think the 210 will give you a better bigger sound, but I don't know how it will stump up against double the amount of speakers volume-wise. If it were the 2.5XL however, I reckon it'd chuck out more low end in comparison.

+1 on all of the above. The XL range is so much cheaper now that they have been discontinued, so a really great time to grab a bargain. My first 4.5XL, when they first came out I believe was nearer 700 quid! You can still pick them up from outlets and they are one of my all time favourite cabinets. The Hydrive range are brilliant too and I agree with the comments above - the 3500 is an all round winner - I'd say upgrade from the transporter range and reap the benefits of the 3500! D000000000d
So where does he advertise it,its not a bass, amp, effect other muso thingie? i suppose erm yes, rules are rules.......strange but rules all the same
We had to implement rules about what is allowed for sale in this forum as we found that we were getting all sorts of completely unrelated adverts appearing. This is a Bass forum after all - for everything else - there's Ebay and Gumtree. Here is the list of what is allowed for sale in this forum: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=129198
Does anyone know of a repairer for line6 constrictor? Looks a bit like one of robocops shoes! Bought from local cash convertor and lost the receipt. No power going to the unit from battery or psu. Help!
Line 6 have a UK repair centre - I found the address via the Line 6 website. I'm sure they'd be able to help.
