Yep, I'll +1 that - I really had a great time down at the show. Here's a pic of me at the Hartke stand with the team - we were havin' such a laugh!

[/quote] Hey Ste' That's an awesome picture! - I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to catch up for a coffee and chat. - Ya know, from reception it took me nearly an house to actually get in to the main venue as I bumped in to loads of fine basschatters for a natter - and that's pretty much how the day panned out for me! ya know, I only picked up TWO basses all day! Sadly, with all the racket around me - I didn't even bother plugging in the £8k Fodera or the Brian May bass!! - Though gotta say, I would have the BM bass - that was cute! ha! Just wanna say, it was great to meet so many basschatters and put faces to names! By far one of the best bits of the day for me was meeting y'al!!

Check out the line 6 range of products, such as Toneport, POD GX, UX1, UX2 etc - Yes they do a whole lot more than just input your dry sound, but they really are great fun!

One thing to take in to consideration is that to make full use of the benefits of a 64bit OS, you will need to make sure that your Interface is running 64bit drivers, your DAW is a 64bit version (Reaper is available in 64bit thankfully) - and then if you chose to run plugins in the DAW too - then 64bit is the way to go. However, you can still run 32 bit software, drivers and plugins on a 64bit OS. W7 has 'bridging' to enable it.

If you want a free version of Guitar Pro 5 - Google 'TUX'. They both are good, but riddled with head bashing frustrations I think - Guitar Pro 6 isn't perfect, but it's definitely an improvement in GUI in my opinion - though as Bob says, there's a few things that you have to do differently between versions which can be frustrating!

I'd just add that if anyone were planning on leaving the amp in a bag whilst in use, to make sure that the fan vents are not obstructed - as they can get pretty hot inside, even if the case doesn't feel like it's baking. Which could lead to component failure.

I am supremely sure that Jon would not have let a Bass leave his workshop with 'top end frets slightly raised'. Jon wouldn't let me anywhere near my new Bass until he was totally sure that it was ready! I have never heard of buzzing on open strings being caused by 'slightly raised frets'. Sorry, that is rubbish! Especially when the noise went away when you put tin foil in the nut. Those frets would have to be out by a good couple of mm's. - I'm afraid your own diagnosis appears to be better than the 'repair man'. The amount of back bow you'd need on a bass neck to make the string bash against frets 12+ is incredible - the kinda back bow on a bass that had been set up by chucking it off the top of a multistorey! heh heh heh! To fix the problem the set up should cost no more than 30 quid by an independent luthier. - Something I could do with few tools and I wouldn't be touching the frets either! I'm not having a go at you and you haven't been foolish posting on here - if anything you could be saving yourself some money by going in armed with the information on this thread from some knowledgeable people! Go buy a laptop bag mate!! - They're designed to give maximum protection - and because the F1 is so skinny, it will fit in practically any decent laptop bag. Speaking of which, I have a bag big enough to carry my laptop, F1, leads and recording interface all safely in one! - which means I can record pretty much anywhere and travel light too! Now if Hartke were to make a lil amp....

Yes, I definitely do and lose far too much time when I should be doing something else!! Very entertaining!
