1. For those who have watched my gear journey for the last however many years will probably have a little chuckle to themselves when I say that it took me FAR too long to realise that it was the cabs all along that I needed to get right!! - and yes, it did cost a lot to learn that lesson too *gulp*. Bass speaker cabinets play a much larger part in the final tone of a signal path than an amplifier in most cases and thus I have spent more money on getting my sound right from a speaker cabinet P.O.V than an amplifer one.
2. Ah! It seems like the site is up and running! - Yes indeed I am! - not only have I a bunch of material here to be worked on with the guys - I have also been confronted by the man in his undies, so yes, I guess we've got to that level of 'the relationship'!!
3.
TBH though as bass players we're usually putting the finishing touches to someone else's chord, so we rarely need to play more than one note, just the right one.
That's very true. As an example, I've played a fair amount of stuff where a listener has complimented the 7 string guitarist's girth to his tone - but I then had to explain that it was a standard tuned 6 string guitar but we worked closely to voice the chords between the guitar and my bass to give the illusion of a drop tuned guitar. Most of the time he played chords with a 5th on the bottom and I would make up the rest of the voicing with root, maybe a third and the fifth to meet in the same octave. I think most of it was also working on the bass and guitar tones so they 'melded' together, instead of being so fussy and precious about each other's personal taste in tone! lol
4. Sold! Still looking for an F1 though! Anyone?
5.
Personally i would love to learn more advanced chords on a bass as i love the sound too. The ones i do sometimes are just pretty much octaves. Very amateur as i am
Ahh! See if you can find 'Chord Basics' by Jonas Hellborg - it's a great little book to throw in your case that features tons of chords that you can refer to at rehearsals etc. Also check out this great resource http://www.davegrossman.net/guitar-and-bass/ for tons of information about scales and chords on Bass too!
6. Ahhhh I LOVE chords on bass! There's something about the tone of them which is so pleasing to the ear! Especially with nice new strings. I use 6 & 7 string basses B_G; the extra strings allow me (like many others) to play bass lines and chords at the same time. As you say, nothing new - but iI find that anyone who says that you *shouldn't* do something on an instrument is close minded and blinkered! I'll play drums on my bass if I damn well want to! he he (as long as I think it sounds good ha!)
7.
A single 15 pushes more air than 2x10s ,as it has more surface area,so 2x10 + 1x15 should seem louder

I'd agree with this, and the mix of speakers SHOULD also give you a better balance of sound, but that'll depend to a large degree on what kind of sound you're after.
If the 2x10's sensitivity is much higher than the single 15, then 2x2*10's will be far more effective, because the 15 simply won't be loud enough. I found this with mixing a Hartke 4.5XL with a single 115XL. It was actually pointless using the 15, because the 4x10 tranched it in every way especially bottom end. Two 4.5XLs though a very different story ;o) = a very nice one too!
8. Holding pending sale to Kohpnyn!

13.
Seriously great amp/pedal and very low price! Some absolute bargains on here ATM.
Thank you my friend! - I know what you mean though - even kit that I don't need I've been eyeing up!! Is there no stopping this G.A.S!!
14. OH GOOD GRIEF!!! Yes, it's down yet again! - next time it's up I'll copy the page I think, just in case we lose it for good ha ha!!
15. Shipping in England will be £22.50 insured.
16. Hi guys, I have the pleasure of owning both at the moment and agree with Musicman20's description. I've posted a few thoughts on the forum about the two as well, but the above sums up well. Out of the two I have a preference for the F1 because I do all that fluffy tapping and percussive stuff with loads of effects on so find that the additional clarity of the F1 and new twangy strings are more my bag. My RH450 is currently up for sale in the For Sale department.
17. Appears to be back now folks!
18. You might be able to find a TC Electronic 'G-Minor'. I have my mate's one here in front of me now - It's a circular pedal with three buttons and it can be programmed for various uses, but it sounds like just the thing you need. I hear that the above 'Mouse' is really good too. Maybe something will show up on ebay for you?
19. Yep, the whole site is still down I'm afraid! Looks like my awesomeness melted the Server!!!! - I had a message to say that the site owners are aware and are working on the fix - so in the meantime, let's take a look at The Gallery... (anyone remember Tony Hart?)
20. Hi, just a + for TC in general. I've owned a fair amount of TC products (though not any voice models) and have to say they are my favourite effects units and sound amazing!
21.
I've just had a weeks holiday in 'Wells Next The Sea' (well, it is when the tides in), and had a day in Norwich. Is it just me or is this place a haven for Muso's? Where we parked we came across the East Anglian Drum Centre within 50 yards, and this was followed by a music shop of some kind about every 20 yards for the rest of the street, must have been about 10 shops in all, half of which had some bass content! Personally I've never seen such a cluster of music shops. Anyway, managed to try out a second hand Vintage five string in Crack Converters (they have a dedicated music shop in Norwich as well as the standard one). Actually very impressed with this (playing through a G&K Combo), but I thought they were charging too much for it given its condition (£360 IIRC) Also in another shop tried a G&L MIA L2500 (£1200?), through a cheapish Ampeg combo. I really wanted to like this, but I found that for all its pickups and switches the range of tones available was a bit dissapointing. To be fair to it I did not have the manual so was flicking switches and turning knobs fairly randomly, so may have missed some great tones along the way. Also the action was set considerably higher than I, and I suspect 90% of people, would have wanted it. Why, when the staff in these shops have nothing to do a lot of the time, do they not sit down and set some of there instruments up a bit better? In the same shop also tried a MM Sterling 5 string (£600), through the same combo. Again, really wanted to like it, but it failed to excite me tonally, and the action was again rather high (but not as high as the G&L). Also saw, but didn't have time to try a couple of Yamahas, and several Corts, along with the usual crop of Fenders and Fender clones. So, a very interesting day, but saw nothing that made me want to sell my Ibanez SR505. PS: My wife was also happy as one of the shops was a real piano shop. Mmm - starting prices at around £7000 - puts our instruments' costs into perspective doesn't it!
By the description, You walked up Benedict's Street - and yes indeed it is the street with the most amount of music and musical instruments on. I'm glad you parked nearby! - It's not the only place in Norwich with instrument shops either! 'More?' you say? - yes indeed - There's also a fairly large PMT store on the other side of the city too!
22.
Northampton ish (on the A5 near Towcester) I'm working on the missus - selling an expensive cab to get a cheaper one is always ok with her, but a 4x10 takes up plenty more room than the tiny Tecamp.... and my rig lives in the lounge!
Hmmm, shame I have no plans to head over that way in the near future, else I would have been happy to have brought my whole rig over for you to play with! Lemme know if the F1 is due to leave the flock.
23. Hey everyone! Thank you for your kind words  It means a lot to have such nice feedback from my fellow bass playing bretheren. I'll gets some more tunes up on YouTube soon just for you! Thank you Basschat, you're ace! I've sent a message to see what happened with the dead link and will let you know when I do.
24.
Because we love ya for it ........we've all bought crackin' gear

And I greatly enjoyed owning/using that amp for a year or two, before trading it on to Flanker. The Digams are just superb pieces of kit.
Ok, so I am glad that my gear went to great people who I know would look after it
25. I've had a word with LickLibrary.com to get me involved with their tuition DVD department. Their guitar side of things is great, but they really need to have an amazing Bass department too!!
