1. Bit of interest but nothing rock-solid yet. Online prices for the RH450 head are between £829 and £899 plus shipping and you're looking at an additional £150 odd for the foot controller too, so maybe I am being daft for offering it for such a low price and need to rethink?
2. I was gonna delete this spam post, but you guys made me laugh so much today I'm going to leave it a bit longer and deal with the spammer's account first. Oh yeah - and clean the coffee off my keyboard.
3. It will be just fine! - What kind of music will it be used for? If you are using distortion pedals and the speaker cabinet has a tweeter, you might want to turn it off (or down) so the distortion doesnt sound too harsh.
4.
[ What part of the country are you based? Regards Eddbass
Replied to your PM EddBass!
5. 'SVT' - You know the thread guys ;o)
6. Aha!
7.
Was this the BBNE2 6 string like Nathan plays currently? I asked Nathan about it at Bass Day and he said that it was always meant to go on sale to the public but it never materialised. The only BBNE2 6 strings are Nathans Still, the 5 string is still an awesome beast. The finish quality is staggering... about as good as it gets. Of course, it sounds great too... its one of my favourite sounding basses... but when you look in it, the preamp is quite comprehensive!
Ooooh! I didn't know that! Thanks, I'll go have a search for some pics! I only ever saw him with a TRB. I just noticed I typed IIRC instead of AFAIK too in my post! doh!
8. I have just advertised my TC RH450 if that floats your boat?
9. Wow! yum yum! I have the active 'Power Jazz Bass Special' in the same colours. Love it! Mine's a 1989 and shows a bit more wear though.
10.
I like this a lot - my only concern would be that it could introduce mains hum into the signal
The description says it's a DC supply so would not induce and mains born noise, even if it were very close to signal cabling etc.
Cute idea but I think it would only work with guitar and bass rigs that were the same height on stage. Also, if you're going to raise the standards of lighting for your amp then it will also look weird if you don't do the same for back lighting the wall behind you, the drummer and the keyboardists (if you have one) just so there's some consistency...not as simple in execution as it appears.
Steve, who gives a monkeys about the rest of the band - it's the Bass gear that is the most important on the stage!!
11.
Look at the pinned Ear Plug thread.... then go and buy some ACS ER15's.
Agreed, or if you play in a particularly loud band, you might consider going for a higher attenuation ER25's. I actually have two sets of filters for my plugs, one of each value depending on the gig. ACS are resellers for ER plugs as are many other outlets. The plugs themselves and the filters are made by a company called Etymotic Research (Hence the ER in the name) - You can check out their own website for more details. ACS will just arrange taking a mould of your ear and deal with sending them off, taking payment and arranging delivery of you finished product. I highly recommend these plugs - they are brilliant and worth every penny. When you first get them, they might 'sound' a little strange, but your brain will soon get used to them and you'll wonder why you didn't get them sooner!
12. Pictures!!!! Little mark on the bottom There's a little scratch on the side of the controller too There a tiny scratch between the 1&2 pedals and another between the 2 & 3 pedals, if you can make them out in the pic!
13.
shame you don't want a not quite so compact Hughes and Kettner head
Sorry mate! I'm sorted for my BIG RIG! It's a Hartke sized monster - but I want something for smaller stuff and the RH450, although absolutely ace at everything, wasn't quite to my taste. If anything the Staccato would have been a better choice.
14. Nomm Nomm mate! Nomm Nomm!
15. Hi all, I bought an RH450 and footcontroller brand new 4th September 2010 and have decided I prefer the sound of the MarkBass F1 for a lightweight portable rig. I'm therefore putting this one up for sale as I intend to grab an F1 or possibly F500 depending on price. Original boxes, Head, Foot controller, Power cable, MIDI Cable, manuals. No trades (unless it is an F1 + cash.) Price is a give away £650 + shipping (or free collection). I do need to take some pictures for you so that you can see a line mark on the bottom where I slid the amp out of a rack. There is also a loose foot that I have used a small piece of plastic bag to act as a gasket! (You can't see it at all and does not affect the amplifier's operation!). Ok, Pictures later.. Thanks Please do PM me as I will get an email notification on my phone quicker than popping in to check the thread. Dan {edit for clarity} I'm sorry, I really can not go any lower with the price plus shipping.
16.
Joining the MU gets you public liability insurance.
Yup I have 10 million pounds worth of free cover included.
17.
Epic
Yeah, love that one!
18.
Some musicians seem to question why they need public liability cover, but it is essential if you're gigging. For example, if a member of the public is seriously injured at a gig by your equipment, falling over a lead, a fault in your amp causes a fire etc. Those sorts of claims often run into tens of thousands (and in rare cases millions) of pounds. The venue's public liability insurance may cover the claim, but the venue's insurer can (and often will) seek to recover from you or your band if it was your negligence which caused the accident/damage. I'm an insurance lawyer by day, and I see far too many claims of that type where people are inadequately covered.
Great to have some feedback from the industry, thanks Simon!
19.
Apparently MU are good for insurance ... http://www.musiciansunion.org.uk
I was with MusicGuard for a lot of years and have recently joined the Musicians Union. When you join the MU you get £2000 worth on Insurance free included (You will get information on how to apply for it). The insurance covers anywhere in the world. If you require enhanced cover (i.e. you own more than £2k worth of gear) a direct comparison gave me a cheaper quote from the MU Vs Musicguard. However, check the FAQ's to see which cover wil suit you best! MusicGuard were always very helpful and I only stopped using them because the MU Insurance was included with my subscription. The M.U so far have been brilliant in supporting me as a musician.
20.
Hmm, surprised there's been no response yet - when I asked about something similar to a Fender tonestack in a pedal, one of the ones I was recommended was this one.
I've not tried the EBS pedal myself, but you Delberthot have a lot to answer for!! Certainly more than a couple of times I have found myself pondering the question about said preamp in a pedal format!
21. Here's a REALLY rough method of switching. I've nabbed a diagram from the web really quickly and bastardised it, so it's very ugly. You can see this box is for three outputs. A mute could take the fourth pin on the rotary switch and connect it to the ground via a 1M Ohm 1/4W resistor.
22. Five of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1252 (That's four inputs and one output)
23. One of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Module...O&U=strat15
24. Yep, off the top of my head - if you are happy with a passive one with a rotory switch to be mounted in your rack case, I think I can cobble a schematic together. I actually had a spare rotary switch somewhere, so I know it is possible!
