  1. My answer above was based on you wanting a 4 Ohm load and the amplifier bridging at 8 ohms minimum.
  2. Stunning, I'd love to put it side to side with my Shuker headless 6er. I probably wouldn't give it back afterward though, it'd make a nice stage spare lol. I jest, I am sure it's amazing!
  3. Oh and of course, using the dual mono option later means that you can strap another couple of 8 ohm cabinets to the other channel and unleash hell at your next gig provide useful monitoring for your drummer by turning the extra cabinets round to face them.
  4. Yes, no problem, just make sure you plug in to just one input and, if the option is available, set the amplifier to Stereo. (There is sometimes an option called 'Parallel' or 'dual mono' that sends one input to both amplifier channels). Not that it will make any difference, but I also like to make sure the channel I am not using is turned all the way down too.
  5. I agree with your review. I’ve fallen back in love with a couple of my basses that I was thinking about swapping out preamps and pickups now that I have my B|Amp. It definitely helps to bring out the best in everything plugged in to it (with the right speakers!!)
  6. Anyone playing a Cort GB75JH (or JJ)?

Yeah, I'd go with a white guard on the red JH or black on the black. Or none at all for that matter. As I've a spare preamplifier here, it could be a good donor for some upgrades too.

I don't have an MM bass in my artillery and listening to the reviews this one (JH) does a pretty good job of sounding alike.

I had the earlier Korean model - GB75 JH which I liked a lot (so much that I got Jon Shuker to model the neck on my Shuker 5 to the same dimensions). Didn't get on with the active circuitry. Now have a GB55JJ as a backup, and to have a fretted, roundwound J to be completely different to my fretless flatwound Shuker P. Again, really nice playing bass. Very good B string on both.

Had a pair of GB75JH models. Both in trans black and both sold on here earlier this year. Missed the general vibe of those basses after they went so picked up a trans red GB74JH last month. It’s the cheapest bass I own but I like it out of all proportion to its value. Great instruments (I also own a flame maple GB94 with binding and blocks which is another fave rave of mine)

  7. I’m really looking forward to hearing the NXT’s! I have a pair of HD’s and would love to compare. Like the B|Amp and HDN’s I will video review these when I get my hands on them!
  8. Hard wired, well, maybe taught. We hear it so much from the earliest nursery rhymes to everything we hear all the time on mainstream media, radio charts and school songs. and when we do get to hear an odd time signature on these platforms, it’s usually delivered in a way that is almost indescribable for the casual listener. The theme tune to The Bill? I think Adam Neely discussed something similar a while back and, there are plenty of cultures where complex polyrhythms and more “out there” time signatures aren’t unusual at all. Check out Adam’s recent video on 15/16 which is actually a delicious time signature! I love prog, tech metal and the like, so I quite enjoy making something like a complex rhythm in to something musical. (I love the tech side of it but I am still a massive sucker for a good melody in the bass!)
  9. I feel for you, that really does suck. In reality, I can't see mine going out to gigs either as I don't have the best of backs these days, though things are improving with physio exercises and the like. It would be nice to crank it up as they do a lot with those 300 watts!
  10. I've sent the email request already
  11. I picked up one in the first lockdown for a good price. I've wanted another since selling my first (touring SVT) years ago. Itch successfully scratched as it sits next to me in my studio space, ready to rock!
  12. I just watched it on YouTube - very impressive! Right, best I see if we can get one in for review then eh!
  13. Keep an eye on my next review gear videos in Guitar Interactive, I think I have a new angle!
  14. I've already put my name down to get one for a video review in Guitar Interactive - It should be over soonish.
  15. I use 45DC's in both of my custom basses - which I also believe is what Spector used to put in their USA basses for a long while(?). That said, I used to run two Tobias basses with 45P's in both positions for a slightly sweeter sound. The DC's do have a dip in their character somewhere around 300hz-ish maybe - they are the closest to the MusicMan pickup sound. A P / J combination will work well too and I've heard that some like to put a DC in the neck and a J in the bridge. One of the cool benefits of using EMG soap bars! You can swap them round, even put them in upside down too!
  16. For some really good live-studio recordings I've been really enjoying guitarist Martm Miller's page: https://www.youtube.com/c/MartinMillerGuitar He's produced some superb footage with exceptional audio playing everything from 80's mash-ups to playing through Dark Side Of The Moon live - and much more. Full band and guests.

Comes in original packaging. Yes, the tin (that are no longer supplied with Tech 21 pedals) is unmarked! - Not that it makes any difference to the price, but its a nice-to-have, right?
  18. Official chrome tuning keys from a Fender American Standard Stratocaster. Right hand models. I took them off as soon as I got the guitar and put the equivalent Fender locking tuners on. Not because the guitar needed it, but because I hate changing so many guitar strings all the time. (I teach guitar and bass daily).
  19. A band like Vola would be amazing
  20. Gotta LOVE the 'Vool!
  21. Ahhh my first proper bass amp! Mine supported UK Subs, Sham 69, Captain Sensible, The Godfathers and many more! Super nice with a clean and balanced sound. Yeah, one day I might buy another!
  22. I will be asking if I can review these new cabinets in Guitar Interactive Magazine.
  23. @neilmurraybass my friend!
  24. Hmm, yeah, you know what, ok. Ping me a PM and I'll come up with a lockdown friendly price.
  25. If it's just a standard MIDI controller (That I believe it would be) then the Tech 21 MIDI Mongoose could well be the kind of thing you need. I have one that I don't think I've ever got round to using out of the house. Super small, lightweight. Could be the kinda thing you need?
