For those having moved to "FRFR" with powered cabinets like those from RCL and QSC (and many more of course) they are already enjoying Bi-Amping and the benefits that a well tuned system can bring. In this case I love the idea. Pop to a gig with just my Helix and one of these active cabinets for monitoring. Chuck everything in to the PA - that's practically one trip from the car!

An enjoyable morning spent with MudPup today. Jon has just bought my Berg cab - Absolutely spot on and I am sure that had we more time, we would have nattered all day. BassChat is a great community and Jon is certainly one who makes it so. Cheers Jon!

Comes in original tin with plastic wrap - it's never been out the house. Was supposed to be for a mini rig but I've never used it - One of the smallest MIDI controllers on the market and this one is as new. £100 includes insured shipping to mainland England. If you want it sending further it will of course cost more!! (Bank Trans) http://www.tech21nyc.com/products/effects/midi-mongoose/ Whether you’re a MIDI-meister or amongst the MIDI-mindless, the MIDI Mongoose is a super simple way to control your gear on stage, in the studio, and on DJ decks for sound and lighting, too. Tech 21’s intuitive engineering eliminates the intimidation of trying to decipher an encyclopedia-sized manual just so you can change a darn program. The MIDI Mongoose is the next generation of its predecessor, the MIDI Moose. It has a significantly smaller footprint and additional capabilities. There are 2 independent inputs for continuous controllers to facilitate use with your other MIDI equipment, as well as a 7-pin phantom power jack. With just 5 footswitches, you can change groupings of preset programs by five or ten at a clip. You can also access Special Page functions to set MIDI channel numbers and to set continuous controller channel numbers and calibration. MIDI MONGOOSE FEATURES Three modes of operation: • Standard 9V alkaline battery (not included) provides a minimum of 200 hours usage • Optional power supply (Tech 21 Model #DC4) • Phantom power via the MIDI cable • Access 128 patches on any of the 16 selectable MIDI channels • Smooth-action custom actuators • All-metal housing • Large, non-glare LED display can be read from any angle, in daylight or darkness • Probably the world’s smallest manuals for any MIDI product • Size: 11.5”L x 2.5”W x 1.25”H

I probably need to do this quickly so I don't regret it too much... (I will) Comes with an official Bergantino cover (that has signs of wear and some minor loose stitching, but that just shows that it has been doing it's job - protecting the CN212 within. No shipping currently UNLESS I can find a big enough box and essential packing. £660 please - I may entertain specific trades and will get a list together, depending on my needs. I'm not gigging at the moment and thus I only need one full bass rig, my Bergantino amp and a pair of matching Bergantino cabinets. So this one is on it's way out to pay a few bills. From one of the finest bass cabinet designers of the 21st Century comes a new range of lightweight cabinets using cutting edge Neodymium speaker technology coupled with advanced lightweight cabinet design. Using only the highest grade lightweight void free Baltic birch and precision built custom drivers, this new range of cabinets from Bergantino Audio are already another hugely popular addition from this established company. The Bergantino Audio Systems ‘Carbon Neo’ CN series of lightweight speaker cabinets nod their head to the traditional HD series but have a different function. These are the lightest speaker cabinets that we make. The precision tuned cabinet architecture and the enclosures are built with the finest lightweight Italian poplar plywood (with Baltic birch baffle boards) selected to our specifications. This lightweight cabinet material (along with the lightweight magnet material) helps reduce the overall cabinet weight. The lightweight carbon covering is used for cabinet cover material and is also lighter than the traditional tolex covering found on most speaker cabinets. A rigid black grille is added to protect the drivers from damage. The internal components used are extremely high quality and they are of Bergantino design. No ‘off-the-shelf’ parts are used. Woofers with Neodymium magnet material are used for the low frequency section of the CN series cabinets. The Neodymium drivers have a punchier low-end and a very sweet midrange that is placed a little more forward in the sound field when compared to the HD series. Fretless and upright players will often prefer the CN cabinets because of how the midrange ‘speaks’ with their instruments. The CN series cabinets have a high intelligibility tweeter mated to the woofers through a custom designed phase-coherent crossover with a tweeter control. Because of the increased cost of the Neodymium magnet material, imported wood for the cabinetry and the unique covering material, the CN series speakers cost more than the HD series, but may just be the right match for your playing style and weight needs. Model CN212 specifications: •2 x 12" Custom Neodymium drivers with 7 oz magnets •high intelligibility 1" tweeter •custom phase - coherent crossover with tweeter level control •Precision tuned 100% Baltic Birch cabinet •power handling - 700 watts rms •frequency response: tbc •sensitivity: tbc db @ 1 Watt/1 meter •2 x 1/4" and 2 x neutrik connectors •impedance: 4 ohms •dimensions: 31"H x 18-1/2"W x 15"D •79cm x 46cm x 38cm •weight: 46lbs/20 Kgs Image and text borrowed from Bass Direct's cached pages (Google search)

If you have been following the huge IEM thread here on BC and are using the Behringer XR mixers, then these two are essential items for your IEM needs! The P16m is your own 16 channel mixer with EQ on every channel as well as an overall limiter to stop your ears being blown! The P16m can save your mixer settings in 16 memory slots. Perfect for different venues or indeed different bands. I used this mixer with a function band and adored listening to all of our mixes in glorious stereo knowing that I had complete control over what went to my ears. I preferred using the P16m over an iPad for remote control as I could reach over and grab a control knob rather than having to faff with whatever apps I currently had open on my iPad. The P16m sat perfectly in a Stagg stand! The P2 ISN'T required to use the P16m but I kept this powered headphone amplifier as a spare in case I had any failures in my kit. Therefore it is still as new, boxed, still wrapped up and ready to go. You can use this with the P16m if you really want or pass it on to a band mate. https://www.behringer.com/Categories/Behringer/Signal-Processors/In-Ear-Monitoring/P16-M/p/P0421#googtrans(en|en) 16-channel digital stereo mixer to create your personal monitor mix Ultra-intuitive "analog" operation with total recall and 16 presets for custom mixes State-of-the-art 24-bit D/A converters for premium audio quality 16 Channel Select buttons with dual LEDs for perfect overview Level and Pan/Spread control per channel with LED meter 3-band EQ per channel with mid-band frequency control Solo and Mute functions per channel Global Level and EQ controls plus Panic Mute function High power and "drummer proof" headphones output Fully adjustable limiter protects your ears and headphones Additional mono/stereo line output to connect your powered monitor MIDI IN port for real-time remote control of all channels by external MIDI device such as Behringer BCF2000, BCR2000, etc. Standard CAT5e connection delivers power and 16 signals to each Personal Mixers ULTRANET connector to daisy-chain up to forty-eight P16-M mixers for large systems (in conjunction with P16-D) Ultra-low system latency of less than 1 millisecond Powered via external power supply (included) or P16-I / P16-D Mounts easily on a mic stand with the P16-MB mic stand mount (not included) 3-Year Warranty Program* Designed and engineered in Germany https://www.behringer.com/Categories/Behringer/Signal-Processors/In-Ear-Monitoring/P2/p/P0CH4#googtrans(en|en) In-ear monitor amplifier for personal monitor applications Ultra-compact and lightweight design High power and "drummer proof" headphones output XLR and TRS input connector with locking mechanism Level control with power on/off switch Stereo/mono source switch (internal) Runs up to 12 hours on 2 AAA batteries (not included) Battery control with LED indicators Integrated current limit protects your ears and headphone Convenient belt-pack clip included "Built-like-a-tank", impact-resistant metal chassis 3-Year Warranty Program* Designed and engineered in Germany The P16m definitely shows signs of use as I had penned on what each channel was across the bottom panel, but it has always been stored in a shock proof container when on the move. I recall watching a luthier design new and exciting body shapes once. They had all the tools for doing the artwork and everything. What was interesting is that rather than starting from a blank canvass, it was more a case of slicing off or adjusting angles of templates they already had... and I wonder what the templates were? Hmm! With that in mind, you can lay the outline of many basses directly on top of said basses and much of the important angles tend to line up. I.e, the leg scoop, the chest cutaway and the length of the upper horn. Small details like a shallow lower horn can mean a bass won’t stay perched on the leg, or if the upper horn is too short, the bass will neck dive when strapped on.
-
I was thinking of posting something much the same! The P or J outline, it can not be argued was bang on to begin with. Leg scoop, chest cutaway, upper horn for strap button anchoring etc, etc..

The centre section is indeed a ramp! I worked with Jon to design it. It adjusts the same way as a pickup does - and it quickly became a standard feature Jon offered on his basses. (Rather than being a fixed lump of wood attached to the face of the body, it can be lowered right in to the body out of the way) interestingly it is also the same size as an EMG MM5 pickup... you know, just in case I needed a big ole MM pickup one day! 😂 Thank you! The finish is actually a silver and black crackle finish over which one of my favourite flip paint finishes is applied. So the crackle finish changes from Purple to Green as you move it in the light. Sometimes even looks blue too!

Sorry I took so long to get here. Headless and curvey!

Funnily I was just wondering what an SVT 2 Pro on top of a Barefaced Big Twin 2 might be like!
-
My interest in the SVT 2 Pro have been resparked.. not by playing through the real thing, but spending a lot of time with the SVT 4 Pro model on the Line 6 Helix. Running the model in to cabinet sims of the speakers I used to use with my SVT 2 immediately reminded me of not only the tone but the feel of my old rig. I mean, I spent over 15 years with the same set up, live and in the studio.. and it was weird to be reminded of the good and bad about it, yet not have a physical amp in the room? Gahhhhh ha ha! Of course there’s certain things that a pair of big ole studio monitors or my favourite cans on my ears can’t reproduce... that magic spot on the SVT dial up on stage. I do miss that, even if each of my cabinets weighed 45Kg on top of the weight of lugging that SVT up on top every gig!!!! Maybe I’ll just have one for my “home play time rig” ha ha!
-
I do rate the SL and the SLS. Some brilliant and forward thinking features! I would have loved to have seen the power amp sections also splittable with a stereo effects loop as well. This would have opened up the Studio/Live range to even more musicians, for example those running dual/parallel type rigs or even messing about in stereo alone which is great fun. I liked the tone of these too.

I’ll chime in later... but I really want a US SVT II Pro! I miss my old one lol!! #NothingButMothsInMyWalletNow

I think I'm going to make up a Youtube playlist out of these all when I get a moment - but for now, I have submitted all of the songs up until this am as part of a column in BGM. I'm sorry I cant name everyone who has offered such great examples as I was already nearly 80 words over my word count and had to trim a bit off my column text to fit it all in! THANK YOU! There's some new songs in there that I hadn't heard before and that's what makes BC great.
