  1. I can't believe how easily the words slid in to the ears. *Probably should stop asap.
  2. I heard it can be hard-on your ears.
  3. As you have a TC head, well, as a stand alone pedal, I would recommend the TC Dreamscape and toneprints for a pedal with different types of modulations. TC's Corona Chorus is also pretty nice too. For bass, anything that allows blending of the effect in to the dry signal is a thumbs up to begin with. The Toneprints are superb.
  4. @ped I understand the difficulties with implementing custom options on a community forum. I will quickly kneel down and do the "We're Not Worthy" stance to everyone involved in BassChat, a huge thank you for making this platform for our low-endedness such a good place to have our community. I think the addition of a SOLD button is a great idea. Maybe following that, should the software handle it, a function where editing a post isn't possible after a set time - say, a day or so. This would then mean that a poster would be able to edit out spelling mistakes or add extra pictures to the initial post. All further edits or additional information would then be added to subsequent posts, which also become un-editable after a time. I appreciate this could be a problem as it would circumnavigate the bumping rule (but of COURSE everyone on BC is honest enough not to post nonsense on an advert just to get it to the top of the pile right?) Anyway, there must be a way that we can help users - I don't see this as a way to make life difficult. I expect some would complain that they'd want to have some time to create a good advert - maybe a template can be provided for such times (which I am sure we have somewhere??) Would welcome thoughts on that one!
  5. I’m afraid that the B-Stock example I snagged had to go straight back. I can comment on sound and quality of paint job, but sadly the set up had problems that set the instrument well outside of the B-Stock description. I wouldn’t take that as a general commentary on the M7 though and I do want to try one that would be considered ‘brand new’ before I reviewed.
  6. I've played a PRS SE Kestrel this week. The latest versions are brilliant. Vintage jazz bass tone all the way and ... so well balanced. NO neck dive at all.
  7. Well, the amp already had a four band fully parametric EQ. Which is exactly what i need on an amp. The variable HPF function now has a variable LPF to pair with. The onboard compressor has been further tweaked and is a parallel type by default now (i've been using parallel compression for years, so i am pleased to see it in B|Amp. ) All the settings are programmable meaning that there are three memory slots to save specific sounds. That could be for three different basses, or say, drive, slap and fingerstyle etc etc. The drives have all been tweaked and of course the foot controllers are all wireless. Its good down to 2 ohms. Of course the DSP speaker profiles to match cabinets to the head are still there and I love these, they really do work. Since my last review online, Bergantino have changed a few parameters regarding the way the interface functions too. Its great to see tweaks being added and updated so readily. oh and finally, its just a great sounding amp. Hard to describe, but it has a lovely "all flat On the dials" tone with the profiles loaded.
  8. The EABB - East Anglian Bass Bash.  Come give it some support!

    @jonunders tagged.

  9. Whats the score with inviting non-BCers? Do you have a link as I'm daft as a bush and didn't see it!
  10. Sex On Fire Sex On Fire and Sex On Fire I appreciate that is only one song, but my **** it's worth mentioning three times.
  11. I've recently reviewed the 502 and Neoline 210 cabinet and I agree, the pair were crazy loud. Great tone and stays clean all the way up the dial.
  12. My audiologist told me that especially with moulded ear plugs, they should be remade every four years. This is because your ears (canals etc) do change shape and size. Some brands of filter are more susceptible to damp (sweat etc) so it would be wise to maybe get fresh filters when you get new plugs. In the short term you can use a gel to help keep an airtight seal - Yes, KY Jelly is your friend!
  13. Sure, YMMV as they say, but I've seen many pull the knot too tight and leads get tangled.. Interestingly, "proper" coiling 40 cables will need less space in a bag than knotting as they lay flat - and then you can do a roadie throw where the cable always falls out in a straight line every time too. But these points aren't rules and there's no guarantee that cables will hold out when you finally strangle the guitarist with one for taking too long coiling his own cables! 😂
  14. I realise that my last post was back in July. I just wanted to add to this thread that the new software update for B|Amp has knocked it clean out of the park. It's bonkers good - and @Bergantino Audio have just released a new wireless (yes no wires) foot controller to go with it that I want to get for mine too. Love it!
  15. Yeah, thats pretty lovely actually!
  16. Congratulations! - As they say on the internet, "this thread is useless without pictures", so looking forward to seeing the new beauty! Brilliant
  17. The thing with some basses that I review is that they can have say, a scooped tone, or a peak in the pickups response that can't really be ironed out. I recall one instrument, thinking that I couldn't hear it in any other genre than metal. It was a lovely bass but in had "no middle" and all the great pick attack in spades. It wasn't really even the fault of the electronics as I'd heard them in a completely different bass and they were fine. It just had one dimension. Anyway, cut to the chase. The Viking has a really nice focussed tone without any of the above. I would have a hard time trying to think of a genre it wouldn't sound good in actually. I don't own a Mayones by the way. I had to give this one back!
  18. No problem! I loved the neck profile and balance on these. The example I played I don't recall being too heavy and I particularly liked the voicing of the preamp that suited the bass nicely even though Barts aren't my usual 'first choice' of pickup (even though they are good, no doubt about that.) I really want to try a 5 string version to see what the Low B is like - but what I did notice is the strength of tone in the lows. A punchy rounded kick verses some instruments being a little woolly in comparison.
  19. P.S. LOVED IT! I also really like the BE Ash basses too and would like a 5 string.
  20. Here ya GOOOOO!!!!!!
  21. Lots of great suggestions for quality cables - also worth noting is how you treat your cables! I treat all of my cables as if they are way more delicate than they actually are. Case in point, I have had just one cable failure in well over 25 years and that was my fault when a cable got stuck under a metal stool leg IIRC. I currently have a whole drawer full of cables "in active service" as it were. So a few tips: Learn the correct way to coil and store cables. Many prefer the over-and-under technique. I never figure of eight my cables and I cringe when I see anyone knot them or wrap them round their arm to coil up. Don't throw cables in to a bag and forget about them - well, you'll spend way too long untangling next time anyway. Plugs should be removed from sockets only by grasping the barrel casing and not by the cable or strain relief. Don't sit down on say a settee to play where the cable can get bent over at an excessive angle. Don't buy cheap, you'll buy twice.. maybe more. Don't stand on cables, yank them about or stand gear on them. Speaker cables and Instrument cables are different even if they have the same 1/4" plugs on them. Don't confuse the two! There are more tips I am sure, but these are good habits to form.
  22. I've tried my "system" with the H1n, Q8! H4nPro and Q4 - they all work. I have a Q2n4K to try out as well but I'm pretty sure that will work too. The great thing about the Q series is obviously that you can record video as well as audio AND use them as a set of "active ear plugs".
  23. Great review! Maybe put a copy of it in the review section of the forum so it doesn’t get lost amongst the general chat here? Will be useful for us in the future!
  24. Should we be putting gear reviews, especially ones so detailed in to the reviews forum so they don’t get immediately lost in the Amps & Cabs discussion? (Which has a high turn over of posts)
  25. Funnily, I ended up swearing at "universal" IEMs as they keep falling out of my ears all the time, so yes, I understand that. I think I have narrow canals and even the smallest size foam tips would fit correctly. I made the switch to moulded units and everything has been fine and dandy since.
