  1. Thank you so much! Flip Paint is definitely my thing!! I've basses here just waiting to get the treatment! (Maybe not the 76 precision though ha ha!) - Yes most people refer to TVR cars when they see my flip paint basses. Absolutely lovely!

    What to do...

Ok, currently I have (not in order) Lush Chorus, Slightly OTT Flanger, Oct down, solo boost, tremolo (pedal controls speed), Delay&Rev on one button, deluxe comp, wah, env filter. The wah is on the toe button and in some cases multiple effects or paths are engaged on a single button. It’s not really a serial set up like a standard pedal board. Actually thinking about it, my entire signal path A just sets up my core tone (I use cascaded drives to get a band-pass “warmth” and pairs of EQ’s for pre and post shaping. The EQ shaping I’ve been doing for years with silly amounts of rack gear, so it’s super nice to be able to do it in one unit now!) Deluxe Comp is blended and my solo boost is just a few decibels of lift to push me to the front of the mix more.

    What to do...

Well, just to go the other way in the conversation, I actually planned to sell mine too. I even bought an HX Effects with the intention of downsizing. Which actually worked rather well for the gigs I was playing. But then, one day I actually spent some proper time getting my LT set up in a way that better suited my needs, Once I figured that out..well, I sold the HX!! I'm hanging on to the LT now I think. Yeah, it is actually over kill for my current gig as I have it set up for only 8 effects really. LT does those effects gloriously though...
  4. FC50 sold pending shipping! thank you b714s!
  5. @MoJo - I do, it's a reverse type 640R Resolite Ping me a message! It's spare and looks new too.
  6. I might have one Mojo!! Honestly, I think I have the reverse type.
  7. Tons of extra info here: http://www.deaky.net/indexE.html You'll need the plectrums too: http://www.deaky.net/bass/pickE.html If you can find any out there!
  8. And here's the black-on-black babe. I believe it is still owned by the BCer who bought it from me. I did try to buy it back at one point, but understandably, the owner liked it too much! Good on him I say.
  9. oh, and if you can find a Fender PB70-US ASH R/W model you will be laughing!!!!!! Stunning Japanese made basses! I would grab one in a heartbeat , funds allowing. I'd say that that's a great place to start for your John Deacon bass.
  10. Hey folks, Just chiming in here. Thank you for the tag! Andy has pretty much answered everything you need to know! I did indeed do two JD tribute basses and my latest Fender is a nod to JD as well. My first, which I foolishly sold was a "Wembley 86 era" tribute which started life as a CIJ (non-export model) PB70-US. I actually had a special order with Fender Japan as they stopped making the all black version at the time. I would highly recommend this instrument to cover the '68 Fender JD had as it is a very close version - but also it has the 40mm nut width which would suit your request in the OP. My second tribute bass also featured a PB70-US neck, but I had Jon Shuker mate it with a stunning piece of timber for the body. This version went with the tortie pickguard and I alter sold it on BC as I knew I had a huge pang for the real thing! Pictures below: My JD tribute, but in this image it has a black guard and Billy Sheehan P pickup. Picture two is a snapshot from Wembley 86. You will see, with reference to the discussion about bridges, that after the refurb, JD had a Schaller 3D (2000??) bridge added. Not necessary if you are going with the natural look. and speaking of natural, picture 3 is my near-UPS-disaster and utterly gorgeous '76 precision bass. (I would have saved up for a 68 and found a couple I liked, but this one is my birth year) I LOVE it!!! Sounds amazing!
  11. *Sale Pending
  12. I'm not sure I need to post anything here at all describing the HX Effects as the threads about how awesome HX is are numerous here and around the internet. I have had the Line 6 Helix LT and more recently the HX Effects for long enough to say that I love them both. I am a huge fan. I bought the HX with the intention of downsizing and consolidating my set up in to a lazy one-box-schlepp from the car. However I have anguished as I really do like the LT more. Just over the last day or so I've started trying out a different way to set up my LT and something "clicked" in my head, so LT stays, HX is on the way! Pick up a nearly new HX Effects in original box (with manuals etc) for a very reasonable price. Mainland insured shipping included. I'm sure it's under a year old!
  13. I have a Tech 21 MIDI Moose, boxed and pretty much as new condition: http://www.tech21nyc.com/products/effects/midimoose.html That you can have for £80 - Tested it earlier on and it works a treat! I also have a Boss FC50 (Otherwise known as GFC-50)" https://www.roland.com/us/products/gfc-50/ Which looks a little battle scarred but nothing you'd notice on stage. £50 Note the other connections available on the boards as they do have extended functionality as well as just program changes on your favourite effects units, keyboards, myths, drum machines what have you. Shipping, well, I would like £6 to go towards insured shipping.
  14. Wow! Helix LT is back with vengeance, I think my HX Effects will go up for sale with some other kit tomorrow!

  16. Buy with confidence, Andy is a top guy
  17. (EMG Active) PJ for my 4 stringers mostly and for everything else I favour dual-rail pickups, specifically the EMG DC Active models in J bass positions.
  18. I love the deluxe, it's my all time fave drive pedal now I reckon. It just works very well with my own particular set up (though I maybe approach my drive in a different way, maybe not ha ha!) Oh and there's the new little babe sat here in a box that I will be talking to the Guitar Interactive studio soon. So you know what that means! (Oh and you can't ask me now as I've not been up to opening the box yet.) Erik is a great guy, I really like his style of playing and his reviews are making great viewing. Dan
  19. Good for you. I hope that you get what you are owed.
  20. My point above is useful here too. Every band doing a gig in a venue (and being paid for it) needs a contract in place. Sadly so many bands can't be bothered and leave themselves wide open to getting sh&fted.
  21. Most tend to pay up when they receive a letter from the MU legal department. I have not had to dish one out myself yet, but I know that other bands have and settled soon after. However, it does require the band to be in the MU to access that help. Even if the band aren't, it would be wise to flag to the MU about the venue anyway in case there are other bands who have also reported and maybe in the midst of proceedings.
  22. Are your band members in the Musician’s Union? Well worth having a chat with them as their legal department can assist with “writing a firm letter of intent”. Recovering fees and protecting yourselves in the future is something they can help with.
  23. And if I may be as so bold to add my own, here's just a few videos I've done: (Playlist) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF3285qKMRQac1DgPAJeHcX9Rl57CUILr
