  1. Indeed Indeed he did! he he he! Yes, the Fischer Stick has been in long term service. I have two IEM set ups. One where I hard wire directly in to a Behringer P16m that is connected via 'digital network' to our digital mixer, or for gigs when I don't have that luxury, such as deps, the Fischer Stick is so easy, light and out of the way. I leant it to a dep drummer recently and he loved it. I may even buy a P2 as a spare, not that I will ever need it mind!
  2. I went somewhere in the middle and I love this thing. Built like a tank with a decent metal casing . The batteries seem to last forever and I love that you can run it in stereo or mono across a standard Mic XLR cable which locks in to place. (Or standard TRS if that takes your fancy)
  3. I feel inspired! Hopefully I will find time to give my 76er a good scrub up too!
  4. Joking aside, it is an incredibly simple amplifier to use. You’ll just have to trust me on that one. Easier to use than a microwave oven
  5. It certainly does look fantastic!
  6. Absolutely and utterly the @Bergantino Audio B|Amp. If we could get together you can try mine. It has an adjustable HPF and a feedback filter you can enable. A parametric EQ, compressor and a beautifully clean preamp that I’ve been really pleased with whatever I’ve plugged in to it. There’s the option to save three presets on it too, ideal if you switch from bass to bass. (Accessible from a wireless pedal no less!) For electric bass there are drive settings on board and both the compressor and drives can have a clean blend for those who like a bit of parallel processing to heat the signal up a bit. What I do love personally, given the interest in FRFR in bassyworld, is the addition of selectable ‘speaker profiles’ that can be enabled to tweak the response curves of connected cabinets from the Berg range. Although I should quickly add that Bergantino have just released a universal tweak that also works well on non-Berg cabinets. Actually, in all honesty you can use any preset on any cabinet. You’ve just got to use your ears
  7. In all honesty I was comparing against my recollection of the KZ ZS10. Maybe I’m wrong, but the AS10 is yet to ‘wow me at this price point’ like the KZ10.
  8. We love @obbm's custom cables - Dave makes great IEM cables too!
  9. I have new artwork! Come see my awesome new Avatar and cover art! I've been BRANDED he he!! :)

  10. I've grabbed one direct from Donner for £35 I think, though I am not sure if I am going to be roasted for customs and excise yet!

    FRFR?

I think this thread: is still pretty relevant and well up to date. I'd be careful to answer this one, save to say "the manufacturing figures won't tell you the whole story".
  12. I dont know if I like them. I bought them from AliExpress and got a little discount on my first purchase. Like the previous KZ's I had I found them difficult to get in my ears even with the smallest flangey dudes. Maybe that's the problem but at the moment the sound isn't doing it for me. I'm not sure if I can send them back / sell them on.
  13. I know that you are looking for a pedal tuner, but IO;ve just a bought a couple of these: Permanently fixed there's no chance of losing them and drop tuning would be a breeze as there's no fiddling with a wobbly clamp: http://www.accessories.daddario.com/pwProductDetail.Page?ActiveID=4115&productid=1156&productname=NS_Micro_Clip_Free_Tuner It comes with a screw or two that replaces one on a tuning key. Here's a picture of my Ibanez guitar with one fitted: (it's a reverse headstock so the keys are underneath!)
  14. I even think we've got cocktail sticks!!
  15. I have a guitar headstock here where the tuning key screw holes have been drilled slightly on the skew. The holes in the maple headstock will need solidly filling in such a way that a new hole drilled could encroach on the border between the normal wood and filling. I am looking for possible solutions - just save myself the trouble and take it to a tech
  16. @EBS_freak AS10's just arrived. They look rather nice! The presentation is also a step up verses the previous models I bought. They also seem much smaller than the other model too. I have included a (slightly worn ha ha) plectrum in the images to compare. I also have a second (spare) cable in the bag too!!! How cool is that??!
  17. I have a brand new set sat next to me that I have been promising myself to get installed in to a bass.. I will be comparing them against the pickups in the bass and also the EMG HZ Passive P pickup too. If I pull my finger out, I will record samples of each for a BassChat review. Time it seems is not plentiful when it comes to setting aside some 'me time'.
  18. It starts there and then slowly, but surely, your whole music career goes the same way as the caffeine...
  19. I have the Line 6 Helix LT ready for an FRFR cabinet.. and my 'dream try out' is an RCF NX45a. However I neither have the funds or the opportunity to try out something that may well prove to be total overkill.. but then, since when did I ever do things by half?! lol QSC K12.2 is a speaker I keep coming back to look at but again I don't have any specifics to compare with right now. I'd love to hear the Yamaha DZR models too as they are brand new and could well be an interesting option verses say the DSR (and DXR mentioned)
  20. I think the only issue I take with this is that ears don’t actually recover from damage caused by excessive noise. The effects of damage such as tinnitus and loss of balance etc are caused by the brain misinterpreting the signals it is receiving verses what it should do. I suspect caffeine inhibits the brain getting used to these new signals rather than caffeine being an inhibitor to any sort of physical recovery. Whilst we’re on the subject of damage, a key point that so many active musicians don’t realise is that ringing ears after a gig etc is an indication of actual damage. When the ears stop ringing, that’s not recovery. The damage is still there. Next time post-gig ringing happens it is more damage on top of the last. It’s cumulative. Until one day, after thinking you’ve been lucky all this time, the ringing doesn’t stop. The white noise begins and your brain can even have a hard time dealing with this indefatigable mental noise. Some people struggle with depression caused/exacerbated by the effects and there is even news of a lad who was so traumatised by tinnitus he took his life.
  21. Firstly Zalastar, you are not alone. I have had at least a couple of students who have also had serious bike accidents and now suffer limited movements in their hands and wrists which led to left hand positioning problems. One certainly found it easier to 'broom handle' the bass neck rather than having an open position with the thumb on the back of the neck. Secondly, as Ace' has suggested quite rightly, you may benefit from an excellent tutor who can look at your hand position to see if there's anything that can be done to assist. I've heard that even physio could help loosen up muscles if they have gotten used to their limited movement. I'm not a doctor so maybe seeking some professional advice there could assist too.
  22. The fan fret bass design wasn't about being any more 'playable' than it's parallel fret cousin. Ergonomics was secondary to the original design goals. A side-effect, if you will, that some will see as either a benefit or detriment to the design. Incidentally, not all fan fret instruments are the same. It is possible to adjust the fret slant angle across the strings as well as the amount of scale length difference between strings. The two of course work together and drastically change the playability of an FF instrument. I think Dingwall have it bang on actually.
  23. It's a great sounding little pedal and does a great TS tone. I did blend clean low end in with it and at the time favoured the 'just biting' tones rather than maxed out. The mid bump in the EQ is pretty good for bass too. - I also liked the Digitech Bad Monkey.
  24. @Al Krow - Did the Valeton OC arrive yet?
  25. If I ever get this flipping solo EP, album thingy written, can I name a track The FireDragon Triplets?
