  1. I might be able to do just that...no, no I'm not sure if thats enough words? LOL
  2. Parcel arrived today... 5 days late, but it arrived...
  3. https://parcelsapp.com/ gave me a good answer as to the process... I now have the P2G and the Hermes tracking numbers - P2G has made no change to their site, so that is a write off... Hermes fairs a little better.. But what it doesn't do, is explain to me how a 24 hour service can be delayed by 3 days... no communication from anyone is not good service, it's shockingly poor "service"... and yes, I am aggrieved by this, as is, I'm sure, the sender. This was a simple deal... "Can I buy your piece of gear?", "Yes of course", "Great, here is the money", "Thank you. The parcel has been collected for 24 hour delivery", "My thanks"... and here I am on day 5, wondering what is going on... Anyway... this has been an informative thread for me... thank you for contributing.
  4. As far as I've been lead to believe, Parcelforce, Parcel2go, Hermes... they're all much of a muchness. Unless you pay for the really big boys like DHL products UPS, they're all pretty much the same thing. I've not experienced anyone issue with say DPD, or Hermes or The Courier Guy... and they're all affiliated with P2G. What irks me, and this would be true of any service I was engaged with, is there is no communication, no way contact them. And as fat as I can see, no recourse other than waiting. @Supernaut, your comment is indeed true, but it's not the point. Someone paid for an expedited service that has not been given. @Bassman666 should, in all fairness, be entitled to his money back. Surely this is not too much to ask, that a courier, well... couriers????
  5. Well... I suppose the only consolation is that ,y band is pretty much on extended hiatus ... been looking forward to this Spectracomp for ages now... finally bit the bullet and now this nonsense... Royal Mail may charge a wee bit more, but I've never once had any issues... Anyhooooooooooo.... chin up, best foot forward and all that sort of thing... Talley ho! What, What, What!!!
  6. Will do - many thanks all
  7. I only have the P2G tracking number... I don't know who the actual courier is.. I guess I can try all of them, Hermes, Parcelforce etc... I know I saw a link on the page somewhere...
  8. Hello all... Anyone here used Parcel2go recently to send anything? I bought a pedal from @Bassman666 (thanks mate) and he sent it on Tuesday on 24 hour delivery... it's now Friday and the status hasn't gone beyond "collection" - which is the 2nd point and just before "in transit" which comes before "at the depot" - which means that it is not yet even ready to be sent to me!!!!!!!!!!!! P2G no longer uses a contact phone number and there isn't an email or anything to get in touch with them... their online chat bot I swear is more stupid than my French Bulldog. It seems purposefully obtuse in trying to evade answering the question. The tracking status now says "We are very sorry that your parcel has not yet been delivered." because now all is right with the world. WHERE IS MY BLOODY PARCEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahem... does anyone know anyone who knows how to get hold of these people? an email, a phone number, the name of a carrier pigeon even? This honestly is THE worst service I have ever experienced from a courier, and I come from South Africa! Kind regards... albeit with a slight hint of anger Julian aka glassmoon
  9. Hello @Bassman666 Is this still available? Julian
  10. I've played with the Shape, and I find I can't quite make it up with the high mids - so I will just boost a little onboard too - besides, disco and funk is not all boom is it hahahaha
  11. Wow, very lean on the low end, eh? My bass is at least at 10 past hahaha But that's awesome. Thanks nate, much appreciated 👏
  12. Hey @Lozz196- happy new year mate! Quick one, what settings do you use for your clean?
  13. Yeah @Merton, I agree that the input gain plays a massive role in how the drive sounds. It's definitely not an ABM preamp, which is a pity (IMHO). I've owned a few ABM heads (and would still own were they not so heavy) and I never found the drive so dependant on the input gain. I've no experience with the other heads, besides my Retroglide, so I don't know if the input gain influences the drive on those heads, or not. I'd be interested to know. But this is the best sounding preamp I've owned, and I've owned the MXR M81, Aguilar Tone Hammer, Fender Downtown Express, Radial Bassbone and a couple of others. Only the MXR was as transparent (again, just my opinion). I think this is a keeper....
  14. Greetings and a very Happy New Year to you lot. Here's hoping that 2022 is a great deal better than the catastrophic year that 2021 was. My missus blessed me with the OriginAl for Christmas. As we were with family up in t'North for the last week, I've only just now been able to get 5 minutes to play with the unit. Now, I'm very much a first impressions kinda chap. If I don't get the hair standing up within a few minutes, I move on. Well, I had a few minutes, then a few minutes more... No hair standing.... Buuuuuuuuuuuut.... Then I realised that I was hearing the Ashdown sound, nothing more, nothing less. Then I got it. It's the classic Ashdown sound in a pedal format. It delivers 100% that classic sound. It is more subtle than I was expecting, but it's all in how powerful the mids are. The bass and treble tame the tone more than scope it, while the mids do a lot of the heavy lifting. The overdive....? I think it's safe to say that I'm a bit of a drive snob. I like precious little in the drive arena. The EBS multdrive being probably the best I've heard (for the record, I absolutely cannot stand anything in the D@rkgl@ss ilk). I've read a fair bit that some recommend swapping out the tube for something more subtle, and going on what I've just heard, I'd say that's probably a fair assumption. Having said that, I'm not going to be sweating it... I wanted Ashdown at my feet, and I've got it. Tomorrow I'll put this through its paces running into my Ashdown Retroglide head into the two 210 cabs. I play with the graphic flat, so I'm guessing things can only be bigger and better with the OriginAL up front. More to cone... Glassmoon aka Julian
  15. Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm, as always, 100% behind Dave and the Ashdown lads, but I thought I'd run this up a flagpole and see what you all thought. This is going to be epic...Ashdown OriginAL into Ashdown Retroglide into 2 modded 210 Ashdown cabs (thanks @Lozz196). Now to get MORE GIGS!!!!!
  16. Hi all I was blessed by my awesome wife with an Ashdown OriginAL pedal for Christmas. The paraphernalia in researching the unit, stated that it didn't come with a power supply, so we ordered an 18v unit from Amazon. Well, the unit did actually come with a 15v power supply. I emailed Dave at Ashdown who said to use the supplied unit, but I'm curious to know what supply is used by the players from basschat.co.uk. 15v or 18v? The unit says 18v on the chassis and nothing else in the manual (not supplied but downloaded). Anyway... My thanks in advance. Julian
  17. Hell's teeth,that's a stunner
  18. Is this still available @ChrisGordon?
  19. 3D print...hmmm 🤔
  20. A. I am supremely jealous (in a good way of course) of that absolutely gorgeous bass. Wow, there really is nothing finer in my opinion. B. Thank you so,so,so much for the information. That is stellar of you. That has made my day, month and year @Ectoplasm.
  21. Ah, many thanks @Pukie. I have seen something like that before... I will head over there right away
  22. Perhaps a strange question, but I've been in love with the Ken Smith BT6 since I first saw John Patitucci'videos back in the mid 90s. Unfortunately, I've never seen one up close, let alone that I'll never be able to afford such a prize, but I am interested to know as much about these basses as I possibly can.... (dons geek cap) Body dimensions, overall length, etc. etc. Any information really would be so very much appreciated. Is there anyone who is ready, willing and able to pull out of tape measure for my bass nerdery? Kindest regards, Julian
  23. It's the original for the SUB Ray 5, yes indeed. https://www.thomann.de/gb/sterling_by_music_man_s_u_b._sting_ray_5_bk.htm
  24. I'm getting rid of unneeded bits and bobs. From my EB SUB Ray5. £25: ceramic 5 string pickup £5: Volume, bass & treble EQ (no battery plug & wiring as required for upgrade) Everything works 100% - prices exclude P&P
