  1. I play a 1205 and I can say without prejudice that it is one of the most amazing basses I have ever played - sonically and in my hands. And for that price ... wow, I'm tempted just a 2nd hahahaha
  2. Damn @stewblack, that's just another reason to get this. Right... The "official" Plethora thread
  3. I like the idea of a digital pedal board, but without the complexity of some MultiFX units. I've tried a few and as you say, most of the effects are of little use... Even to the fringe bassist I would suspect. A drive in the loop would sort the "hole" out, and as you also say, these are quality effects and relatively easily customised. Now to find £399
  4. That's a great review then mate!!!
  5. This is exactly what I want... I love chorus, delay, reverb... the rest is just a plus. The TCE compressor I am unfamiliar with, but seems to have good reviews - and especially as it's TP driven, as are all the effects, that is a win (plus the software to tweak). I guess I will just have to wait until I can get one - or justify one through "house arrest" Thank you for the great feedback @stewblack
  6. I guess they're figuring (as this is definitely geared more towards guitarists than us lot) that you'd slot your choice of dirt pedal into the loop, aaaaand be able (like onboard) to select where in the chain it goes. To be fair to TCE, if enough people ask (or complain), chances are they'll include drives in a future firmware. This looks like a win though for a lot of jobbing bassists. Me included
  7. Hey @stewblack. Nice one. What TonePrints (if any) are you using...and/or what "pedals" will you be using? I've been interested in one of these since it was announced. This or the H X Stomp, but I like that this is pretty much a pedal board's worth of stomp boxes and very little else. And I do like TCE
  8. @bottomfeed Stunning. How is the MB octave? I've found very little by way of reviews or videos (that weren't from MB themselves). BTW, what board is that?
  9. If only I was closer... amazingly nice unit
  10. I had a 1995 Yamaha TRB6 with the "thin" pickups - which were in have split humbuckers - not in the least bit "thin sounding"... I replaced them with Bartolini G6's and the sound was incredible.... My idea for the old 1306 was to do something very similar, probably with Nordstrands. Carey will do a custom pickup as per my sonic requirements. Bung in an updated preamp and I'm away to the races. But yes, to your point WRT "thin sounding" thin pickups, I concede there is a lot of truth in that
  11. Can't comment on the bass itself, nor the Aguilars, but the Nords are super warm and rich. I've always been a bit of a Bartolini fan, but I have to admit to swinging towards Nords.
  12. A quick look at the Ibanez page (https://www.ibanez.com/usa/products/detail/sr306eb_02.html) and there it is - a coil tap similar (so it would appear on the surface) to the older ATK switch.... interesting. and boy, what a price!!! Bung some Barts, or Nords into that!!! 😎
  13. Solid mahogany body too - can't go wrong with that. Looks a treat too! Pray tell, what is the "Power Tap Switch"? is that a coil tap or something completely different?
  14. I recently (after, let's see... 22 years) moved away from 6... long story and I won't bore anyone with it now... but I am missing a 6. if only to noodle with and record my insane compositions LOL
  15. I am after - somewhere down the line - a 1993/4 SR1306 - the one with the slim IBZ J6 pickups (i.e. that can be fitted with Barts later) Such a stunner!!! I had the SR1306 that came after this - but with the wider ADX6 pickups - and it was incredible to play - well, as you'd expect. But the 1306 (and the SR886 that had the same pickups) is just a stunner. The Gallery (Camden) had one but when I found it, it was already marked as sold.
  16. 🤦‍♂️ duh.. of course... sorry for being an idiot!
  17. Excuse the ignorance, but what does the acronym "NT" stand for?
  18. Why thank you 🙇‍♂️
  19. I must be honest, the small bodies were never a factor until I picked up my first BTB - and going back now, I remember the size issue. But having lost 6 stone and the fact that the bass is sooooooooooo light... it's a win!
  20. A little blind never hurt anyone
  21. Can I join please? After 14 years, I am back with Ibanez
  22. Right - who's handing out numbers - I'll take 1205 please 🤣 After 14 years away, I am back with Ibanez... the things we do when G.A.S. attacks!
  23. The CE2-B is astonishingly good, yet so undervalued
  24. I have to say that I think this is the best looking bass on this site. An absolutely stunning instrument and from what little I know, a great price too. Good luck mate. Bump!!
  25. Hi @patrikmarky Are you open to trades at all?
