  1. That's a lovely looking Jazz -black/white/maple always draws me in. Don't get me wrong, the black guard will look great too but I like it as is.
  2. Now withdrawn. Thanks to those who expressed an interest 2013 Sledge Sabre for sale or trade Wanting to change things up a bit so looking to let go my 2013 Sabre in the Premier Dealer Network Limited Edition Tony Levin Sledge finish. Colour is a bit of a chameleon and shifts from grey to having elements of different hues depending on the type and brightness of lighting on it. Bass is mint condition. Very nicely figured neck with both flame and birdseye in it. The Sabre is the only Classic model to feature the compensated nut and the fretboard radius is 11" compared to 7.5" on the StingRay. No string thru option on the Sabre - top loading only on the bridge. The selector switch gives Lakland mode on position 2 which is the bridge humbucker plus the bridge facing single coil on the neck pickup. Position 4 is very P bass like, being only the bridge facing coil on the neck humbucker. This position benefits from noise free operation courtesy of the onboard silent circuit. No issues with bass at all. Comes with the original black guard as well as an WD aged pearloid one. The original MusicMan SKB style hard case is included. A really superb bass but I already have my cherished and keeper sunburst/maple Classic Sabre which gets all my Sabre playtime. Trade wise I'm looking for : *StingRay Classic in black/maple *StingRay Special preferably with ebony board and black hardware (aqua Sparkle/jet black/charcoal sparkle) Happy to consider other options on a Special. *USA Sterling with cash from your end Possibly open to suggestions of Overwater, Warwick Streamer Stage I / II, Status, Spector etc Looking for a bass in excellent condition with no issues. Bass can be auditioned in Market Drayton in North Shropshire. Will post if buyer arranges their own courier service and level of cover. Trade would really need to be face to face. EDIT: any marks etc visible in the pics are just reflections. 3. It's the lightest bass I own. Not very scientific I know but I'll try and get it weighed tomorrow. Should be able to do something with the me without bass then me with bass on the scales method Keir
  4. Looks great. Loving the newer Sterlings with the roasted necks. GLWTS!
  5. It looks lovely and is right up my street but after my excessive holiday spending, I'm resigned to bottomfeeding. Not that that's a bad thing at all, it just means that basses of this ilk are out of my reach for the foreseeable. Keir
  6. Sire V3 Gen 2 with reworked pickups and rolled over fingerboard edges. Sire preamp with active/passive switch. Low action, light weight, no issues. Very little use as kept as back up to other Sire. Now £200 Edit: I have weighed the bass and it comes out at 7lbs 15oz. This feels right to me as it is feather light and way under my other basses. I have had enquires about postage and I am happy to box up the bass for courier but buyer will need to arrange their own service and level of cover.
  7. I'd love an MM one but options appear very limited at the moment
  8. Love it! Pearl blue looks great I'm just going on holiday for two weeks today though and ideally looking for a rosewood board. (though that is a lovely looking piece of maple) Can't see this hanging around long Keir
  9. I've been intrigued by these Klos basses over the last year or so. Info and demos are more readily available now but the price has gone up a bit too https://klosguitars.com/collections/apollo-basses/products/electric-bass
  10. Think you've got my old sunburst flame top GB 99F. Great bass that one
  11. Beautiful! I've had half a dozen Cort GB basses (2 x GB74 +GB 75JH, GB94 and GB99F) and every one of them has been a great instrument to own. Massively underrated which fly under a lot of players' radars but they can easily hang with basses costing a lot more imo Keir
  12. That's a beauty Owen. The turquoise finish really is something to be honest I kind of miss the OMG setting now that my L-1000 has gone. One of, if not THE best instantly playable fingerstyle tones I've ever had from a bass. When you say you've taken delivery of a J5 do you mean a Fender Jazz 5 or a G&L JB5? Keir
  13. Looks lovely! Struck me that I've never owned a Yamaha bass🤔
  14. Walnut finish with the tort plate looks so good! 😍
  15. Definitely agree with this. I don't have one these days but I'm often tempted to go back to playing a five string just to play an SR5 again. Way different to the four string imo, just slots in with anything, nice fat even tone that never takes over, just compliments everything in just about any genre. I likely prefer the tone of the SR5s with ceramic magnets as they were on the ones I owned and prefer the Sterling to the Stingray 4 for the same reason (amongst other things). I play a pair of Classic Sabres now which as a bonus have a fairly convincing P bass sound on one of the settings too🙂
  16. Lovely colour. Always fancied a Jazz bass in this finish
  17. If I was going to have just one bass then a Streamer Stage II would be a serious contender. Before bass forums and GAS, I had a Stage I as my only bass for around 3 years. Loved that bass!
  18. Beautiful bass. I look at it everyday. a classic case of if only I had the readies😞
  19. Hi yes it was. It went to another Basschat member who I bought it from at the beginning of April. Mick the Sabre is definitely a flavour worth trying😉 Thanks for the comments so far. It really really is a super example of the breed and a rare edition of an already few and far between MusicMan bass. Keir
  20. * withdrawn.* MusicMan Classic Sabre Sledge Didn’t think I would sell this but things change. Genuinely reluctant sale as I lusted after this bass when it became available previously but I already have another Sabre, which I’ve owned longer and am more attached to, can’t bring myself to sell my Valenti, the fretless isn’t shifting and I’ve seen some other basses which interest me. This is a 2013 build and was the first of the Classic Sabre series which ran for a few years before being discontinued. As far as I know, this one is the only rosewood fingerboard Sledge Sabre officially imported into the UK by Strings and Things, the official distributor for MusicMan. The bass has previously been owned by Andy Travis and EldonTyrell on here and I’m sure they will vouch for just how nice this bass is. 2013 Ltd edition Tony Levin Sledge finish which goes from grey to showing different colours depending on angle viewed from (see pics) The bass is in mint condition. Wildly figured maple neck with lovely rosewood fingerboard. No issues with the bass at all. Comes with MusicMan hard case and original black and WD pearloid pickguards. Weight is 4.6kg. Bass can be auditioned in Market Drayton, between Stoke and Shrewsbury. Prepared to post if buyer arranges their own courier and level of cover etc.
