  1. Now there’s something you don’t see everyday. Lovely looking bass GLWTS
  2. Thanks AnalogBomb. Yes great sounding bit of kit. anyway this has now sold🙂
  3. **NOW SOLD** Up for sale is my Valeton Dapper Bass. Used only a few times and put back in box. Comes with PSU, instruction leaflet and box. This unit sounds really good imo but I’m just not going to use it enough to justify keeping it. Onboard FX modules are : compressor auto wah (+ fuzz) pre amp octaver chorus also an onboard tuner and an FX loop 1/4” and XLR outputs £55 + £5 postage
  4. Congrats! Looks great in that colour. 🙂 I love mine. The neck profile is a smidge wider than I normally like but as it feels shallower front to back, it’s really rather comfortable. Can’t wait to start rehearsing with my new band in the next couple of weeks. I think the OMG setting is going to be my staple tone.
  5. Hopefully one of these will be in my future. Not the single H, this one with the three single coils 😍
  6. Yours was an earlier (and better build imo) than the black cherryburst 5 I had at the same time. Hard to quantify but just some subtle differences that elevated it that bit higher Keir
  7. marleaux62 those are some of the nicest stingrays going. I couldn’t possibly pick one but if I had to it would be the Neptune blue. simply amazing😍
  8. ^ that Ray35 was mine for a while. Lovely thing it is too. In fact was tempted to buy it back off Darren earlier this year.
  9. I bought a brand new CLF research L-1000 a few weeks back. Quality is terrific, fit and finish is a couple of notches up from a regular Fullerton made bass imo. Even the control knobs are lush. This is fairly local to me and If I could have sold something of mine this would be a great partner for my wunkay. GLWTS!
  10. Bridge plate looks heaps better. Some nice, tasteful mods on the electrics too. GLWTS!
  11. I like the idea of a passive Stingray. Ebony board and black hardware with the natural ash is a really nice look. Congratulations!
  12. I had the exact same model for a while last year. Local musician wore me down and twisted my arm for it. It was a great partner for the LB-100 which I bought from you around the same time. This one has nice straight grain in the ash. I know I would have one of these over a MiM Fender. Great basses. GLWTS!
  13. Met Neil this evening when he bought my MusicMan Cutlass. Easy deal with good comms. great fella to deal with and even bought me a coffee. Would happily deal again and highly recommended, a credit to the forum and an all round good egg and stand up guy. hope the bass serves you well Neil🙂 Keir
  14. My new to me Classic Sabre. Waited a long long time to finally get one and after setting it up I am extremely happy with it.
  15. Bought Lukus’s Classic Sabre from him after travelling down to London. Lukus met me at the train station and was great to deal with. His Sandbergs were awesome, just a shame I didn’t get any time to play them before I had to head across the city again. Would deal with Lukus again no problem. Top fella with some good knowledge of basses in general, and from my point of view, welcome insights into the brands he has that I don’t. Great day out which was extremely worthwhile. Thanks again Lukus😎
  16. Beautiful😍 I’m hoping to be reacquainted with all things Sabre tomorrow after a twenty four year absence. If I wasn’t picking that one up this one would have had me PM’ing you. GLWTS!
  17. BUMP for Price Drop. now £850 with case or £800 with MusicMan gig bag. would take a Lakland Bob Glaub, 44-64, Sandberg Electra or similar value P bass in part exchange or possible straight trade for USA Sterling 4H/G&L SB-2 or Sandberg California prefer VS4 or VM4 and prefer gloss finish would also be interested in a Lakland 44-02 Dlx as I have just caught the Lakland bug 😊 thanks for looking Keir
  18. Seems like a lot of bass for not too much shekels GLWTS! edit : just noticed the date 😐
  19. Just owned a USA Sterling for a short while and sold it to help out another bass player after one. After a number of years not owning one, it was noticeable to me just how ridiculously good they are. The neck and tone, the ergonomics and the playability were just fantastic. I’m GASsing hard for another one.
  20. Both the following threads have basschatter reviews on the Sterling 4H https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/6399-musicman-sterling/ https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/215245-ernie-ball-musicman-sterling/ fwiw I’ve had four of them and just sold one to help out someone after their first USA MusicMan. Upshot is he loves it and I’m Sterling-less again. Great basses, can’t speak about playing with a pick so much but really rated it for finger style. The USA Sterling has the signature MM tone but with a little bit of extra grind and a couple of extra options via the three way switch. It’s your left hand that gets all the love though. The neck shape and feel is fantastic imo. I’ve yet to play a better neck Keir
  21. MusicMan Cutlass finished in ivory white with vintage tinted maple neck. Comes with MusicMan hard case. My scales say it weighs just over 8.5 lbs edit: nut width is 1 5/8” or 41.3mm and the fingerboard radius is 7.5” Full specs on the MusicMan page https://www.music-man.com/instruments/basses/cutlass-bass Great sounding/playing (and discontinued) P type in near showroom condition with no structural, electronics, cosmetic or playability issues. Can box up for shipping though would prefer buyer to arrange their own service, level of cover etc. Could possibly meet if you’re in the midlands or thereabouts. I will likely withdraw the Cutlass if the bass I’m after on here sells. thanks for looking Keir
  22. Just sold a Pearl blue Sterling to help another bass player out and I am already choking for another. The smaller, sleeker body, the extra grind of the ceramic over alnico, the smaller headstock, the 3 way switch, the rounded heel shaping and the neck……that neck…..well for me the Sterling neck is simply the best neck on any bass. period. It really is a thing of beauty!
  23. Karlfer thanks for the reply and yes these are really excellent basses. Sorry will amend the original post to reflect the colour not being some form of limited edition. Just followed a number of other adverts and a video on you tube which claimed rootbeer metallic was a limited finish. Itsmedunc if you fancy a change let me know 😌 And warwickhunt the only weight I have at the moment is when I measured it earlier and it was bang on 9lbs on my digital scales. I’ll try and get another reading too and see what that says.
  24. Thanks gareth. Yes, these were made in the G&L plant in Fullerton, California. As versatile as they are, I sometimes find the MFD pickups a bit too dark sounding which possibly has had an influence on my decision that only a couple out of my last half dozen USA and Tribute G&Ls have had them. I’m not knocking them merely stating that I like G&Ls with a different sound too. This one reminds me of my old Spector Euros a bit but without the tonepump clipping. Seems enough headroom with the EMG BTC though I believe there is an 18v mod for more
