  1. ***NOW SOLD*** Offshore Indonesian version of the MusicMan Axis SuperSport guitar. Not one of the cheaper SUB models, the AX20, now discontinued, originally retailed around £550. This one has had the back locking tuners changed out for regular ones from a later AX30 model with the trem which did need the locking ones. As this guitar has a hardtail bridge, there’s no appreciable difference in the way the guitar holds its tuning. I actually prefer the look of the ones on it now and the neck has lost a bit of weight at the end. No constructional or electronics issues, guitar plays great. Given the swapped out tuners and the fact I already sold the Sterling gig bag, I’m asking £225. Guitar can be auditioned just outside Ayr which is 30 miles south of Glasgow or will meet up as far as Glasgow. Will box up for shipping if buyer arranges this. thanks for looking! Keir
  2. ——————————————————————— **Withdrawn from sale as can’t be doing with the inevitable seller’s regret with this one** ——————————————————————— Ovation B768 Elite bass built in New Hartford, Connecticut in 1991. Owned by me the last six years. I have loved owning this bass as I wanted one for many years but the last couple of years I’m no longer using it for anything other than in the house. Bass is in first class condition for a 29 year old instrument and has been well cared for throughout its lifetime. New Ovation under saddle pickup bought direct from Ovation shortly after I bought it. No issues with the bass. Action can be got stupidly low for an acoustic bass which is testament to the build quality and it plays faster than pretty much all my solid body basses. The acoustic tone is big and detailed sounding and projects well with the usual Ovation hallmark of high note definition and clarity over the entire fingerboard. The body is a deep bowl and moves a lot of air. specs: Solid Spruce top with exotic wood multi soundhole epaulets Bound Ebony fingerboard with maple inlays 2 pc Mahogany neck OP24+ pre-amp Official plush hard case included. Exterior of case showing some wear and tear but I gigged this a fair bit and it did its job keeping the bass safe. Bass can be auditioned just outside Ayr, 30 miles south of Glasgow. Will box up for shipping with a courier if buyer arranges this. Keir
  3. Jeff drove 120 miles to hand deliver his G&L Tribute JB-2 which I was buying from him. Super helpful guy and someone who knows their basses! thoroughly recommended. Hoping to buy another G&L from this chap sometime soon🙂
  4. cool, feel free to check back when you’re up. fwiw I wouldn’t describe the Ashula neck profile as thin. Feels more substantial front to back and in the shoulders too than my SoundGear fan fret 6 string Keir
  5. PMs replied to. I’ve got a bit of a G&L love in going again. Therefore interested in both USA and Tribute models
  6. Forgot to say but a heads up for anyone interested and who hasn’t seen the sale price, Andertons are doing the JB-2 for £279 new
  7. The neck on the JB-2 is a medium C and very comfy. Finish on the back of the neck appears to be different to the Tributes I had in the past. Seems thinner, less plastic feeling now. Much prefer the feel of this one. Just checked on the G&L instrument pages and the main difference between this and the G&L Tribute JB (offset, fender jazz-a-like) is the fingerboard radius. 12” on the JB-2 vs 9.5” on the JB Keir
  8. Both a new sonic blue G&L Tribute JB-2 and a new trans black Cort GB75JH arrived today. Spent most of the evening setting them up and got them both playing pretty much to my liking. the artificial light makes the JB-2 look white (it’s a pale washed out blue in natural light) and the see thru grain on the Cort doesn’t show on these pics either. Shame as they’re both very pretty in the daytime. The Cort will be my back up 5 string for gigs and the JB2 is simply to re-ignite my fondness for the brand. Been a while but I owned a fair number of both USA and Tribute models way back. next up I’m after a Sire V7 in one of those sexy new colours! Keir
  9. I had one for a few months earlier this year. It was a five string in the twilight grey satin finish. I really liked it and thought the Barts and EQ sounded better, for want of a more technical description than the same set up in my Ibanez fan fret 6. the Cerro had oodles of sustain too. However another bass I covet came up for trade and I kept the fan fret over the Cerro because I wanted to stay with the six string. No complaints from me with the singlecut though. I would definitely buy another if funds allowed it and at £350 it’s a steal imo
  10. still available BUMP. Could also add a bit of cash for the right bass. Thanks itu. I’ve not used the bass in a band setting but have really enjoyed the scope it offers when jamming with a looper pedal.
  11. Ashula II by Ibanez Hybrid fretted/fretless fretted 4 string E-A-D-G, nicely figured Jotoba fingerboard, Ibanez Super J single coils with Vol, Pan and 2 band EQ fretless 3 string A-D-G, Purpleheart fingerboard, flatwound strings, Aerosilk piezo system with Vol and Tone. Master volume and toggle for fretted only/both/fretless only Gloss finished mahogany body with Burl Poplar top finished in Dragon Eye Burst. Maple/Jotoba/Purpleheart 7 pc neck with twin truss rods. Comes with fitted Ibanez case. Near showroom condition. Couple of very small marks in back of neck which were there when I bought it new in January of this year. No issues at all with the bass. Everything works as it should. collection from just south of Glasgow. Can meet up within reason or will box up for shipping if buyer arranges courier. Thanks for looking! Keir
  12. #8 neck shape on the USA SB-2 and Asat basses I had was great to play. Also had that same neck carve option on a flame maple topped L2K too and I preferred it over the standard 1 3/4” nut width on that model.
  13. I’ve owned a pair of USA L2Ks, a couple of Tributes and a pair of Asat basses. I genuinely liked owning all of them though for various reasons they were swapped/sold. I am planning on acquiring another at some stage as I like the versatility of the pickups/pre-amp. Also had an L-1500 too around ten years ago. Could not get on with that bass at the time. Now my hearing’s dulled, I would likely appreciate it more🙂
  14. I have this bass. same model, same colour. Build quality is outstanding imo. GLWTS! good review here :
  15. BUMP for shimmer reverb and shoegaze delay loveliness
  16. Boxed with instructions. Collection from Ayr, P&P will be extra. Payment by ppg or bank transfer
  17. I’ve looked at your bass a fair few times thinking I can maybe just maybe swing something but then just as soon the realisation sets in I can only do trades as nothing of mine is selling either. Lovely bass and like you, surprised it hasn’t sold
  18. That’s a cracking looking bass! I had two Godlykes at the same time around ten years ago. I got them both from eubassix. A see thru red Disciple 5 and a fretless Deity 4. The main difference was that the Deity had a figured maple top and a set neck. Both were really great instruments. I was working my way through a lot of brands at that time and as was the way of things I moved them on. With the benefit of hindsight they would be keepers if I had them now. [/URL] edit : Over my photobucket limit 😔
  19. I've never been much into using the mids on a 3EQ SR4. On the SR5 and the USA Sterlings the mid control worked better for me in series or single coil setting. In parallel I always liked what my ears told me was a sound with cut mids. It's the sound that drew me to the StingRay in the first place. Re the USA Subs, I really liked them and owned a couple but I'm sure they were wired in series so were a bit different sounding to a full fat SR4 I've got an Sterling Ray34CA which is the slab bodied Classic Active 2EQ one and it's a lovely thing. Only two things on it I would want on it are thru body stringing and a slightly wider nut width. Otherwise does the job very nicely! If the OP is ever in Ayr it's available to try
  20. It's a 1991 USA B768 Elite bass. Did a load of gigs with it and a Breedlove fretless a few years back. The Breedlove got sold but the Ovation remains though doesn't get used so much now.
