Sandberg California VS4. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

That’s a cracking looking bass! I had two Godlykes at the same time around ten years ago. I got them both from eubassix. A see thru red Disciple 5 and a fretless Deity 4. The main difference was that the Deity had a figured maple top and a set neck. Both were really great instruments. I was working my way through a lot of brands at that time and as was the way of things I moved them on. With the benefit of hindsight they would be keepers if I had them now. edit : Over my photobucket limit 😔

I've never been much into using the mids on a 3EQ SR4. On the SR5 and the USA Sterlings the mid control worked better for me in series or single coil setting. In parallel I always liked what my ears told me was a sound with cut mids. It's the sound that drew me to the StingRay in the first place. Re the USA Subs, I really liked them and owned a couple but I'm sure they were wired in series so were a bit different sounding to a full fat SR4 I've got an Sterling Ray34CA which is the slab bodied Classic Active 2EQ one and it's a lovely thing. Only two things on it I would want on it are thru body stringing and a slightly wider nut width. Otherwise does the job very nicely! If the OP is ever in Ayr it's available to try

It's a 1991 USA B768 Elite bass. Did a load of gigs with it and a Breedlove fretless a few years back. The Breedlove got sold but the Ovation remains though doesn't get used so much now.

Thanks. Scale length is 34" on the treble side and 35.5" on the bass side iirc

Now been set up by myself to my liking and given a good clean up.Sounds, looks and plays fab. Strings on it are well used and dull but I don't feel any need to change them until I put some flatwound strings on it. As always hoping it's a keeper and that I don't have my head turned by something else on here/gumtree etc🤞

Thing is I was after a Precision and was going to put flats on it. Then this came up. Think l will put flats on this for a none more old school vibe Ye the switch too. Seems quirky and a bit over the top but maybe that's how I see Gretsch as a brand anyway. Saying that I liked the selector switch on the G&L L2K and Asat basses I owned in the past Thought it would neck dive but can't say I feel I'm ever holding the neck up. It's ok on the forearm too. I have a deep bowl Ovation Elite bass which also has a square edge where my forearm rests and being pushed out a bit further can get uncomfortable after extended playing time. No real complaints with the ergonomics of the Gretsch though and even if there was I'd forgive it on account how drop dead gorgeous it looks.

Got this rather fetching Gretsch long scale today in a trade. Lovely thing it is too and I've been playing it pretty much since I got it! btw I don't think I've ever seen this before on a bass but it has a master volume as well as individual volumes for each pickup.

Sterling Ray34ca which arrived today. Still setting it up to my liking but already hoping it fills a niche in my basses and stays.

Lovely! I'm a recent convert to Ibanez but I am rather taken with my fanned fret 6 string after it re-ignited my passion for playing. So much so I have another two new Soundgears on their way to me at the end of the week. Can't wait!!

Bought new from Guitar Guitar in Glasgow last weekend. Was after a one of these with a maple board and this rubyredburst is a great finish. Owned a few Stingray five strings in the past. Liking the SBMM version too. Owned by me from new until I traded it with Steve last month. (I originally bought it for a particular project that folded) I had tried a fair few electro acoustic basses before settling on this one after being taken with the big, articulate sound of these. The build quality is top notch and it has a couple of genuine design innovative features too. Steve's a top bloke as well! Buy/trade with the utmost confidence. GLWTS! Keir

Selling my Hardwire CM-2 as having a bit of a change round. This one is a later CM-2 and states its a distortion. It's actually their overdrive and for a long time the CM-2 was labeled as 'tube overdrive' (The Hardwire SC-2 was their distortion pedal in the range. The CM-2 has quite a wide range of gain on it which is possibly the reason they changed the name. I have used it on both guitar and bass. Great sounding pedal with really good build quality for not a lot of sheckles. Near mint condition, Comes boxed with the manual and the extras (stomp lock etc) Velcro is already on bottom of pedal £35 Postage by RM 2nd class signed for is £4.10
