1. That is a really good price. I just sold one elsewhere and got 50 quid more than what you are asking.Had plenty of interest in it too. The passive ones don't seem to be seen as much either. lovely bass..... GLWTS!
2. I owned this bass for a year around 2008. I traded it for a 3EQ Stingray in vintage sunburst which was a daft move in retrospect and then I nearly managed to get it back from Richard a few years later. Brilliant bass, superb player. If I had the funds for it I would be in for it. As it's definitely a bass I regret letting go. Someone should buy this and then just keep it and enjoy owning it and using it for a long, long time. (rich words coming from me I know) Every time I see this bumped back up I think of ways I could maybe buy it back but alas the bass fund is empty :-(
3. Just bought a Tanglewood Canyon III fretless from Stuart. Easy, smooth transaction and the bass is just great for the money. Stuart was a pleasure to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again. Highly recommended! Keir
4. bought a Tanglewood Curbow bass from Mike. bass arrived as described, straight up guy, easy to deal with. many thanks Keir
5. loved my Asat semi-hollow. I dont regret letting many go but that is definitely one I do.
6. Bought an M-Audio controller keyboard off Andy this last week. Deal went smoothly. Thanks! Keir
7. I would be interested in the Oxygen 25 if still for sale Cheers Keir
8. I've owned four Bongos at various times (4HH & 4HS & two 5HH) Also owned a Stingray 5 at the same time as a 5HH and always felt like I'd plugged in and the tone had dropped out playing the SR5 after the Bongo's somewhat monstrous EQ. I always preferred the ergonomics of the Stingray though and it was a nice sounding bass that sat well in no matter what I was playing. I kept the SR5 over the last Bongo I had as I preferred the simplicity of it, the way it seemed to work with everything, the unfinished neck and the balance and feel of the bass in general (getting GAS for another SR5 I think) That said, the Bongo is a flavour worth having if you like it enough and can keep both. I think yours could possibly be graphite pearl and not ES btw. Looks like my old bass.
9. Sweet looking Stingray at a super price! (I did pay £1100 for my 2EQ with the EBMM gig bag)
10. I have been playing keyboards in one of my covers bands the last few months, as well as guitar and this week I just updated my sound, buying a couple of Waldorfs - a Blofeld and a Streichfett string synth. The Blofeld sounds fantastic though is maybe going to take a few weeks learning it and bringing it into my set up. The Streichfett sounds lush and will be getting gigged this weekend. It replaces a laptop running the Arturia Solina V emulation software which did sound really good but I get nervous about using the wife's laptop playing out! Much better to have a piece of hardware that can do the job. I think I'm going to enjoy owning these synths. 11. I have one of these in the same finish though mine's (possibly an earlier one) doesn't have the rounded heel. these are a really nice alternative to a MIM Fender and one that I am enjoying owning - so much so that I am now hankering one of the contemporary models (when funds allow)
12. PM'd and BUMP for a sweet looking bass
13. I have the fretless BJ350/CM cedar topped fretless and its a beauty. I didn't know they did a five - looks awesome!
14. I've never had a hankering for a Classic Sterling or Reflex but the Big Al and especially the classic Sabre were both on my to buy list. Hoping there's enough around used by the time I do get some scratch together
15. According to the 'what colour is this?'thread in the ernie ball forums, your bass looks like Stratus Blue Sparkle. I used to have a white Sparkle Sterling 4H and I now have a Silhouette bass guitar in Blue Dawn which is a sparkle blue finish. I think there's a Stingray 4 in this finish for sale on these boards at the moment.
16. cheapest Big Al I've seen. Lovely!
17. Simon Atkinson & The Foundryman's Apprentice @ Wickerman Festival, main acoustic stage @ 3.30pm on Friday 24th July Pop by and say hello :-) Keir
18. Maybe a Boss RV5 for the modulation setting? I've owned a couple of thoseand regretted selling them afterwards both times. It was only the purchase of a Hardwire Supernatural which stopped me from missing the RV5. I use the supernatural on my guitar board but I do put my musicman silhouette baritone/bass guitar through it and it sounds brilliant. apart from a spring and plate it has some really great ethereal ambient shimmer type settings.
19. PM'd
20. http://www.music-man.com/instruments/basses/classic-stingray-4.html I quite like the trans blue and in that pic it does look like teal in its bluer moments. (Loved how teal went from green to blue depending on lighting) but I can't understand there being Pacific Blue burst in the classic colours. Looks more of a G&L colour and is still in the current colour options on the regular Stingrays and Sterlings. Would much prefer to see the original trans blueburst which is lighter than the current Morse blueburst. If they ever did a Sabre Classic in the original blueburst with the birdseye neck I doubt I could do anything but succumb to GAS.
21. This is the exact same fretless model as mine. Apart from liking the jumbo body which gives it a big acoustic sound and the lovely woods throughout, I think a few of the features really add up to a quality, well thought out instrument eg the bridge truss system, the side soundhole and the LR Baggs preamp. The case is a real quality job too. I paid double for a new one what's being asked here and I had a couple of hundred off the rrp. Absolute bargain!
22.
Lovely stuff - is that chap to your left playing some kind of electric mandolin?
Hi yes it's an electric Mandolin called a Mandocaster. The other instrument on extreme left is a bouzouki
