the switch is to select between parallel/single coil/series on the single humbucker version and it does give 3 distinct and usable tones to start with before fiddling around with the 3EQ. (I miss my old Euro 5's) Possibly a Warwick Streamer or Thumb 5. Let me know what you got

I took this in a trade last year for my Bongo 5HH. Its a 2005 build. Has a few knocks and dings on the back and a couple on the side. No marks on the front. Ding on the front of the headstock. Also had a ding on the back of the neck up near the headstock when I got it but I've steamed that with an iron and tablecloth (!!) and got it nearly back flat again. It is still noticeable under my thumb but doesn't bother me at all now. Also the case is a Musicman 2006 Limited Edition C&G tolex type with gold interior.I think these were the cases for the buttercream Stingrays. Has the usual fat Stingray 5 tone, very balanced across the strings in tone and volume. great sounding B string on a 34" scale length. I love these basses but I am saving for my wedding and find myself GASsing after something a bit different which I've seen new elsewhere. £775 collection from Ayrshire. Will be happy to box up if someone wants to arrange their own courier Cheers Keir

getting serious pangs for a Euro 5 again looking at this thread and wondering whether one of my Stingray 5s should be a Euro 5? some really beautiful basses on here

the finish is called metal flake brown and was available between 1999 and 2001. iirc it was introduced and discontinued along with another two colours - metal flake green and pearl lavender (and possibly pearl platinum as well). I have a '00 Stingray 5 in the pearl lavender finish (similar to fender's burgandy mist)

I managed to get 'Silver Box' for £4.49 on iTunes last month. I bought it as it includes their 'lost' album 'Our Secrets Are The Same' and that got me listening to a number of their albums again,Street Fighting Years being one of them. I forgot what a solid body of work it is and like has been said, works from first to last song.

My two Ovation Custom Legends. The sunburst is a '94 shallow bowl model 1869. The cherryburst is a '96 deep bowl model 1769

the non bass boost switch position you refer to will likely be parallel and the mids are more transparent on that setting. neck/passive/series should cut through more (it did from my experience with L2000/Asats) but the MFD pickups / tri-tone preamp combination is pretty dark sounding overall imo

I love the 5 strings, just perfect for me. I've owned a lot of basses (Bongos,Spectors,G&L,Warwick,Status etc) but never been more settled than I am now with a pair of SR5s.

downsizing my guitars yet again. it's a tough call between this black morse Std and my Morse Y2D but as I prefer hardtail bridges, this one with the Floyd is up for trade hopefully for an ebmm bass. I will consider most models but Big AL,Bongos and Stingray 5's are my first choices. maybe a Sterling or Ray with 2 pickups. try me... more pics available on request cheers Keir
