1. CK,minor point I know, they were made through to '91. Long time ago I had a 1989 natural finish Sabre fretless with the covered p/ups and the 5 position switch. I also had a pre EB Stingray at the time and in summary I'd agree 100% with your take on the tonal differences between the two. Looks wise I preferred the slimmer outline of the Sabre to the Ray's roundness(like the older G&L L2K before they were changed and given more curves).I'm kind of tempted with this but have plans on one day aquiring another late 80s EB Sabre in trans red/maple or blueburst/maple if I can ever find one
2. I got this Bolin from owen and traded it back with him after a while (owen was missing the Bolin just like I was with the spector euro I part ex'd against it) Its probably the poshest bass I ever owned, sounds stellar imo, the piezo was such a great tone. good luck with the sale!
3. Hi Sean, been recording with it this last couple of weeks. the bass sounds great shame my intonation is a bit iffy hope all's well your end cheers Keir
4. very nice indeed. first glance looks like a L1500. is the p/up on the same place as the L2K neck humbucker? also what profile is the neck, is it a #6 or a #8?
5. mines has been modded with a 3 way switch and a tone control. Its also got the birdseye neck and ebony board options both of which i'm pretty much sure are no longer available on the basses. It's the only passive bass I have and its such a sweet thing to play and own

9.
Bump, back on sale again.
wish I had the readies for this mate, I'd have it back in an instant. - I love these Asat basses this one is very light for sure, the semi hollow I had at the same time weighed more best of luck with the sale some great G&Ls up for sale on here at the moment
10. cosmetic I'd say. looks swisher in black
11. I had the V3 version. I didnt bother with the bass or electric settings but it worked great with a condenser mic recording vocals and acoustic guitars onto the Zoom 802CD I had at the time. The mic preamp models on the Zoom were rubbish so for the price the ART was, it paid for itself after about 10 minutes of using it.
12. if one half of the W was hanging a bit lower maybe but ladies bottom it is. very nice looking bass btw.
13. I have the LIne 6 UX2. As well as the guitar/bass side of things there are some wickedly good vocal presets/preamp models imo. I thoroughly recommend it!

15. is this the white one one that sold on ebay a few weeks back?
16. love the 20th - looks lush - great collection too!!
17. looks great - I like the footswitches on these and the X3 Live - my older XT LIve was terrible in that respect - real hit and miss selecting patches/adding boost etc - I actually quite fancy selling my Line 6 single pedals to fund one of these M13s. does it have amp models too/speaker emulation or is it just models of pedal FX?
18. the Euros above belonging to Mike Brooks,Lifer and Josh are all beautiful looking. as is cetera's newest black cherry aquisition in the FS section. (I'd have had that if I'd seen it! -I'm mostly thinking this week of Spector Euro 4s) btw which Euros have the black hardware? It says on the site that they come with gold or black h/ware. I've only ever seen a matte black one with black bridge and tuners.
19. I never got a PM back from you and I had the cash for it at the time, and I wish I still had the readies as its a seriously nice bass back to the top!
20.
. Hugely into Japan, and post-punk bands like Magazine, Siouxie and the Banshees, and Joy Division around that time, but +1 for John Foxx era Ultravox; “Hiroshima mon amour”, “Quiet Men”, and “Maximum acceleration” still some of my favourite listening material.
Shaggy, you are a man of impecable taste! Ultravox before Midge,Magazine and the Banshees are 3 of my favourite bands ever . I saw John Foxx on tour at the Barfly,Glasgow last year. he may be getting on but was outstanding for me hearing the entire metamatic album and b-sides after 27 years. also saw Siouxsie at the ABC in Glasgow in march of this year.another great gig
21. +1 on the sound. looks great too
22. Bowie/Roxy/Velvet Underground/Kraftwerk > Numan/Foxx/Ultravox/Human league > Duran/Japan/depeche Mode etc. Nick rhodes and John taylor said they grew up listening to bands like the velvet underground, roxy and bowie iirc from interviews around the time they first made it big. they did a great live cover of steve harleys cockney rebel "come up and see me" and then the album "thank you" in the mid 90s which shows their influences http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thank_You_(Du...)#Track_listing (the drummer credits on that album are just mental btw)
