1. This is a beautiful instrument and a few notches up from my other Godlyke,a Disciple bolt on 5 string. however I dont have the time to put into playing fretless really well and these days I seem to spend most of my free time in front of the PC with Reason and Cakewalk Sonar. I really could do with buying/upgrading on the PC side of things so reluctantly selling this Godlyke which I got in August from Eubassix Overview: ash body with 3A flame maple top finished in satin trans black set neck construction maple neck with ebony fingerboard Wilkinson bridge Gotoh tuners brass nut Custom MM + J pickups 18v 3 band EQ trimpots for notch filter + 2 x p/up volumes inside control cavity hand made in Japan by small custom shop full specs at http://www.godlykebass.com/SpecDeity4.php the bass is very light, ever so comfy with a low fast action and plenty of mwah and feels, plays and sounds top drawer in every respect. the side dots are where the fret lines would be. the bass comes with a gig bag. it has a couple of teeny small dinks(one on the back & on the side) looking to get what I paid for it which is £499 including next day delivery by courier, which is great value for a bass of such quality. would need to be money paid into my account, cheque or cash on collection. trial more than welcome if you're in the Glasgow area. original thread when Eubassix had it http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=godlyke more pics on my photobucket http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s162/du...20fretless%204/ cheers Keir
2. £35 posted re the Philtre I'd like one of those too,and a Metavox while I'm at it
3. did you buy a MIJ fender jazz & Trace Elliot 4x10 combo from me back in 1991? I lived in Hounslow,Middlesex at the time.I'm sure the guy who bought it from me says he was either in Mud or used to be. just curious
4. Bought these last year on here. I used them as desktop effects for my Zoom sampletrack and rhythmtracks and they served me well on that front, could be used as pedals as they've a remote pedal jack on each. each one is the same on the back theres a detailed review of them here http://www.sweetwater.com/feature/technotes/issue3-modfx/ unfortunately I dont have the power supply units, 2 of them came to me with a custom made PSU that powered both. That has recently since died and the other Mod FX didnt have one. I'm pretty sure I've got a generic PSU that is compatible and I can chuck in with them the only one I can see on ebay right now is one of the flangers at 40 quid new so £35 for the three? would really rather sell all 3 together cheers Keir
5. lovin the teal green with matching headstock
6. lol you should try one with a rosewood board. anyway really nice all 3 of them
7. BB no dramatics,I said I couldnt show the shiny patches because my camera is not working. THis is an older pic from when i first got the bass.I was just showing the satin finish in the pic. anyway i got a reply from Kevin at Godlyke so I know how to proceed with this now anyways The Satin finish on the Godlyke Basses is actually a pre-step to a gloss finish, so repetitive rubbing of any given area will cause it to be buffed to a gloss. The Satin finish can be "touched up" by handrubbing with a 2400 grit wet sandpaper. You should be able to "rub" out the glossy sections with a 2400 grit wet sandpaper and match the original finish almost exactly. Please keep in mind that continued playing will cause these spots to turn glossy again, so you'll have to re-touch them every so often, depending on how much you play the Bass. Let me know if you have any additional questions........ Cheers, Kevin Godlyke, Inc.
8. The Godlyke 5 string I got back in April has been well played these last 6 months. So much so that I've managed to turn the satin finish into a few shiny patches on the front of the bass (between G string & lower horn, above bridge humbucker and on the forearm contour) They stand out like dogs balls, look a bit unsightly and it miffs me when I see them. Any advice how I could return these shiny patches back to the satin finish? the bass isnt oil finished and you cant feel any grain. I was thinking maybe some fairly fine steel wool? My camera is on the blink right now so I cant show the shiny patches but heres a close up of the finish thanks for any help
9. If your L2500 is a 2007 it'll have had a PLEK set up at the factory before shipping too. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=469058
10. he wants to get some better pics up too. It looks the same colour as my pinkburst Albert lee guitar in that first one
11. no please dont do that to that lovely white L2000 (if it is the same bass you are referring to)
12. re the Godlyke part of the SGC/Nanyo story,I believe the Godlyke design resulted from a competition run by the bassist magazine a fair number of years back where the winner had their bass made by SGC Nanyo. someone correct me if I'm wrong on this there are similiarities, the flat wide neck on the 5 reminds me of the bass collection 5 strings, heres the backplate of my Disciple 5. its very like the bass collections I lam quite taken with my 2 Godlykes! The Disciple 5 is broadly similiar to the older higher end Bass Collections The higher spec'd Deity fretless (set neck/ebony board/figured maple top) is a few notches up from the Disciple even though both have the same 3 band 18v circuit and MM/J pups. Both feel and play top class, the Deity particuarly so both of mine came from Eubassix.these are his pics when he sold them. for anyone interested,Godlyke are selling off the last Disciple 5 they have. All in it would work out at £550ish incl VAT and Duty and is a lot of new bass for that money.I've owned my Disciple 6 months and it easily holds its own with my Spector Euros and Stingray 5. In fact its the best sounding and playing of the lot. 14. thats a nice one! agree with martthebass on weights. I sold these 2 Sterlings earlier this year. Both felt heavier or at least as heavy as my SR5 (which I've still got) the white sparkle was a 2002 and the candy apple red was a 2004. the SR5 is a 2001. I didnt sell them because of weight or anything just fancied a change both times. I will buy another as I badly regret letting those Sterlings go.They were both superb players and for me the best neck I've yet played on any bass. if your back dont like it..... I would!
15. noelk27,I was on the old A77 just yesterday.normally I take the M77 to Glasgow but was nice driving the old empty one. I saw the Minds twice. derek Forbes was always a player I liked. LOve Song,Themes from great Cities etc were all great but the best work he did with Simple Minds imo is on New Gold dream - an amazing album full of amazing bass lines. "Someone somewhere in summertime" and "Glittering prize" especially so
16. I saw on the EB boards that in 2009 they'll be bringing out both a new bass and a new guitar to mark 25 years sice they took over Musicman Sterling Ball : "Very Very Different.....25 year anniversary models and no limited....There will be a bass and a guitar that are a serious departure for us........... " http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-...4-2009-ltd.html they do loads of Limiteds and added extra pickups etc but they're not exactly known for punting out new models every other year. in the 15 years since the Sterling first showed they've only brought out the Bongo. First MM without a humbucker?
17. the colour is Radiance Red and I love it!
18. Hi Jake, looking forward to pics. I used to have a 4 string version and loved the tone . I could be up for your 5 dependant on how much you're looking for. any chance you could post up a cash price? Keir
19. Thats a heck of a lot of bass for the money. . It looks much much better with the rosewood board as well I'd be sorely tempted if I didnt already have a more than capable P/J bass (SB-2) Alistair bought my Asat bass from me this week and is a top guy to deal with. Good luck with the sale!
20. looks great and a real player. I only recently tried a Sandberg at GuitarGuitar Glasgow............and loved it!
21. yes CK it's the very one and its general all round loveliness is the reason I'm looking to move the green Euro 5 on edit: and reading about the pedulla you got from v max blues I also sold a teal SUB bass to him via ebay just before I joined these boards.
22. I've bought basses from Geddys nose,Stingrayfan,BB2000 and Eubassix. Sold basses to OutToPlayJazz,DLloyd and The beat. and I've traded basses with owen(twice),Tonyf,Eubassix and Wavydavy. The natural SpectorEuro I traded with owen and then I got back after 3 months has also been in the hands of 4 other basschatters as far as I can tell making 6. is there a bass with more BC owners? if you remember it being your property then add your name to the list
23.
Used to have one of these, the passive humbucker in mine sucked! Bought it for £270 in loot and sold it for just over £200. It's a very limited bass and always sounded like a budget P, not a patch on my Corvette with none of the trademark Warwick sound. The neck was lovely though but i couldn't get on with a 5 string Warwick neck. The cavity was big enough for a preamp though so i suppose it could be easily upgraded. I'd rather have a punt on a second hand Corvette for similar money tbh
How right you are. I ordered the 2 p/up 5 string after reading the Guitarist magazine review when they first came out. I expected more but the Streamer Std was without doubt the most disappointing new bass I ever owned. the neck was ok but the bodywood was cheap looking and truly awful feeling The sound wasnt inspiring either and I couldnt punt it on fast enough. Bought a natural ash Corvette Std with the money which felt great and sounded great.
24. loved the sound of my 4HS.best sounding bass I ever owned. in time I'm for a single H Bongo
25. some more pics
