**Withdrawn from sale. Too nice to let go!** Up for sale is my Sterling Ray35 in natural ash. A superb bass that captures the essence of a StingRay 5 for half the money. I've had a fair few USA StingRay 5s and this can hold its own with those. And of the half dozen Ray35s I've owned I've done more band work with this one despite having more basses to choose from these days. I've just overspent and need to start listing a couple of basses. May list the Ibanez SR1605 I just got off here too. The bass has some discolouring on the fingerboard and some small marks here and there. The Pickguard has markings which are commensurate with it being a gigging/ well used bass. Overall excellent condition. Didn't come with a bag when I bought it used from Bass Direct but can add a Deluxe Fender gig bag. Bass can be auditioned in Market Drayton between Stoke and Shrewsbury Will package for courier if buyer arranges their own service and level of cover.

SR1605 I bought from Josh on here a couple of weeks back

Massive sellers regret coming on lately over the one I let go in 2021☹️ Overall vibe, neck feel and profile, string spacing etc are very, very close to a StingRay 5HH. In between sounds were wonderful. I've realised I've partly now got a Sterling Ray35HH( which is a lovely bass in its own right) not kust because it is half the price of a used full fat USA one, but also about trying to atone for some of the Dimension Deluxe 5HH sellers regret I currently have. Trust me, If you see one come up for sale, buy it!!

Thanks, that's really good to know I'll message them and see what can be done. Definitely thinking new pickguard with the neck humbucker moved about an inch further back towards the bridge is the answer. Gratuitous pic time.....

Only (slight) negative for me at any rate is the neck humbucker is too near to the end of the fretboard. I would spec the neck HB being further back towards the bridge one if I was ordering another Klos (and that will likely happen once the 5 string is out) I like everything else about the bass. Neck profile, tone, set up,light weight, ergonomics etc are all ticking boxes for me. Happy with the bass being passive but still looking to try it with an external preamp pedal (Sadowsky SBP2) The neck is great to play and has that sustain that just rings on and on. Everything is very even output wise and chords and intervals just sound better. That's what I wanted the bass for so it fills its brief well. Keir

Bought Josh's Ibanez SR1605 from him. Really easy guy to deal with, great comms, held the bass a few days for me too. Bass was well packed, arrived quicker than I expected and as described. Top fella, absolute credit to Basschat. Cheers Josh! Keir

Is now the same as Gail Ann Dorsey's Marilyn. Looks great! 😍

Pearl white Sterling Ray35HH with roasted neck. Sunburst 5H with (darker) roasted neck

Nick bought my G&L JB-2 fretless and was an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout. Thanks Nick for quick payment and I hope the bass serves you well Keir

I love it too. I've got the Sabre Appreciation Page on FB. Be good to see it on there https://www.facebook.com/groups/406658267997398/?ref=share_group_link

That's the exact bass I had back in the mid 90s and sold before I moved down under for a couple of years. God I still miss it now. That and a Sabre exactly the same colour/guard/board which I briefly saw hanging on a music shop wall in Glasgow about 20 years ago. I went to go back and try it a couple of days later but it was gone.

The pearl grey L2000 is a Fullerton Deluxe model which is a full fat USA L2K that comes with a gig bag instead of a case. Grey/maple or Ruby red/rosewood are the only two choices.

Feels great. Not sticky at all. Profile is very comfy too 🙂

Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones DJ4 - black sparkle - £900 - *SOLD*

Love it! Hard for any Jazz to oust the Valenti though eh? Seriously nice Lakland. I had my head turned by them after I bought a 44-60 on here and found the plek'd neck meant it had the lowest, playable action of any bass I owned at the time. Seller is one of the good guys. Done a couple of sales/trades between us and he is a top fella to deal with. -
PM'd. Passive electronics seem to work really well with this bass if I compare it to a 2EQ Ray with status neck I had a while back. Lots of top end was accentuated with the carbon fibre neck and the stingray sizzle on that bass. Seems enough top end on this but doesn't ever get out of hand. I'm going to try it through a Sadowsky SBP2 and see how that goes

The Klos arrived yesterday and is 7lbs 10oz and balances perfectly. Lots to like, only quibble is not much space between the end of the neck and the neck pickup. (Apparently they will make pickguards to suit with the neck pickup further back) No complaints with any aspect of the fit and finish of the bass and it plays great. I believe they are plek'd before final inspection.

I had a blueburst fretted SR5 with maple board, white pickup cover and guard back in the mid nineties. I still think its my favourite MM combo along with teal/black/rosewood. Really great looking bass😍
-
I've had both too and echo what others have said The MFD pickups on my new to me early MIK big Tribute logo SB-2 are very, very loud for a passive bass. Feels like it's got a longer neck than 21 frets and I always liked the placement and tone of the bridge single coil too. (I had a USA Custom shop SB-2 many moons ago) The Tribute LB-100 I had was a great P bass. I just found the neck had, for me, an unusually big profile. Andertons had new LB-100s at less than half the price of a Mexican player Precision which is just crazy cheap for the amount of bass you get for your money.

I thought exactly same thing. Maple should be on the miami blue and rosewood for the dark night. Guess it's time the lefties got the best pick for once.

I was originally after a Status replacement neck for my Sledge MusicMan Sabre but the prices have gone a bit crazy lately. Hoping this is all I need it to be (Have only had you tube videos etc to go on) Will report back once I have it

I ordered a Klos Apollo Standard in the aqua finish earlier today from the very helpful customer services at Klos HQ in Utah, USA. Now just the wait for it. (Not my bass but no doubt looks the same)
