can someone explain to me what it is? and what it does?
You can adjust each mic's volume and tone to pull out the best sound onto the PA. A desk man also told me it increases your S/N ratio - but don't ask me why! Hamster

I found it near impossible to start with, but after following the 3 P's it all came good. Hamster -
Superb little pedal. Big bottom end boost, big clear, crisp highs, it makes an average rig sound fantastic, and makes a great rig sound massive.
+1 on that Hamster
If the "This way up" was on the bottom then that is the senders issue, not the carrier. It still doesn't excuse playing football with it, but might be worth sending some photos to the sender and asking them for a comment. Steve
Steve - What I meant was that the 'This Way Up' sticker was correctly applied to the top of the package, but the delivery man put the box upside down in the hall so the sticker was 'on the bottom' I've had a good conversation with the sender and have some good photos of the amp before he packaged it, all of them show the amp to be in a good and not smashed to bits condition. Well, a -1 for Interparcel, or should I say UPS who actually handled it. I just received a well-packaged Mesa Boogie amp that they had obviously used as a football. Circuit board had come off its mountings, 7 valves smashed and quite a lot of damage to the cabinet/tolex. The box was plastered with 'Fragile' and 'Delicate Electronic Circuitry' stickers. When I got home from work my wifey had signed for it and because it's heavy they put it in the hallway for her. It was of couse upside down, no doubt due to the very large 'This Way Up' sticker on the bottom. I had the foresight to take out additional insurance, and am proceeding with the damage claim at the moment. Hamster -
The retail price for this bass is around £1400... What do you guys consider to be a fair price? Keep in mind that I bought it new 7 months ago and that it comes with all the original candy + cleaning products... What do you think?
A fair price would be based on what you paid for it - not the full retail price, unless of course that's what you paid? You can pick these up new with a case for around £1100 - £1150 so I'm guessing a ballpark figure for a private sale is £900 - £975? Hamster -
Well I finally had to replace one of these today, they've lasted between 1&1/2 to 2 times the length of a duracell, and at half the cost.
Hello! Right then, I've scoured this site and many others for the relevant information and drawn a blank, so here we go: I have been after a black scratchplate for my Jazz for ages, but being the awkward import it is, most 'standard' fits won't do the job and I really don't want to pay loads to get a custom one made up. Anyways, it's like the second bass down on this page, if anyone knows where I can score said plate then I would be most greatful. I hope I'm not breaking any rules by kinda posting this bit twice, if so then I'm sorry! Thanks in advance, P.
Have you tried here - simscustom Custom made but not too expensive? Hamster

Hello Phil and welcome to the new site! Have a look around some of these websites to try and find a scratchplate parts sticky Cheers Hamster

A tricky puzzle Sir Robin All could be good, but a test drive is imperative as you might find one or more just as uncomfortable as the Warwick. A +1 for Dood's suggestion about having a good look at UK luthier's stock. Hamster

I now have the bass in my sweaty mitts I looked at a couple of scratchplate sellers on ebay but they state "These Stingray scratchplates will not fit Sub4's or OLP's etc..." I thought the SUB4 and Stingray scratchplates were the same? - Anyone had experience? Hamster

Bass lines that really flick yer switch!
Hamster replied to bottomfeed's topic in General Discussion
As well as all those previously posted, I don't know quite what it is about it, but Barry White's 'You're My First, My last, My Everything' is such a catchy song with a simple bass line. When played at functions it's a floor-filler and makes me feel good either listening to it or playing it. Hamster -
You can pick up a used MIM Jazz for £275 ish. OLP Tony Levin, Musicman Sub4 or Yamaha BB414 are all excellent used buys. I very strongly recommend sitting down and playing with these basses (or any others you have a GAS attack for) before making a choice. You will be (for example) much better off buying a £120 Squier Jazz that is really comfortable in your hands than spending £300 on a MIM Precision that doesn't feel right for you. Hamster
Hey guys, I've not had any luck selling this amp on here. I've been offered £200 trade in for it, it seems a bit low, to me, any thoughts? Cheers, Eude
Noooooooooo! - that's too low. Absolute bottom dollar price has got to be £250. A well written and presented ad on ebay should produce £275 - £300 for it. If you're desperate to sell it start it at £275 or put that on as a reserve price. Hamster
