Completed a nice straightforward trade with Jon and have now acquired a nice black Jazz from him. - Cheers fella.

As soon as they release it, we'll be in a position to install it.
This is still a problem for me, any chance of fixes/patches coming up soon ? Andy
I think IPB are acutely aware of this bug, amongst others. How fast they release a bug fix is sadly beyond our control, but to give them credit they do listen and respond to clients complaints and act on them.

On this version of the forum software a lot of the admin controls over avatar size and dimensions have been removed. It has been commented on by numerous people on the IP Board software forum and I expect a fix/update will be released in due course.

Hi Jake This glitch keeps popping up randomly - we've no idea why Easiest fix seems to be to change the skin / theme / template from basschat to IP Board using the button at the bottom left corner of the page.

It could be a database error. The creators of this forum software have admitted there are more than a few 'bugs' in it that they will be addressing in future bug fix/patches. If you remove it completely, wait for 2 days for the database to build itself again, and then try again it might take it? - but I'm guessing really!!

I've checked the settings - nothings changed and appears fine. You can't be near your upload/storage limit as they are very generous. Maybe manage and delete the attachment and try and upload it again? Iv'e just successfully experimented uploading attachments to my profile and managed/shared them through 'my media' into my sig.

Johannes bought a nice Lakland bass from me - good comms and prompt payment up front - Cheers!
Bought a Lakland 55-01 from Colin which arrived today. Everything went fine and the bass was packed really well. Cheers, Johannes Finland
I'm always happy when a bass goes travelling and arrives intact! - enjoy it - it's a lovely bass!
It's all a lot nicer to use now. Only problem I have is it's not keeping me logged in from one session to the next and Firefox doesn't recognise the password screen, so it doesn't fill it in. I'm on Firefox 3.6 with updates turned off, cos I hate what they did to it after that.
Sounds like a cookie problem? - Try clearing out the cookies and cache?
-
Please find out what your IP address at home is and PM it to me - I'll look into it further Thanks

Ahhhhhh - 'template' - I just wonder why when I searched for the settings it's not under 'skins' or 'themes'
is there some sort of maintainace at 2 - 3 AM ? I sometimes log on then and it goes very slow and sometimes times out.
IIRC that's when the server backs itself up and rebuilds databases etc etc
-
I'll have a look. Have you recently changed IP addresses or had your router turned off for a while? I see your location is Israel - I presume you are working in Israel?
When I post a topic, and go to new content , nothing appears
IIRC - That's because you have already 'read' it and so it is not 'new' to you.

The issue of uploading pictures/files has been resolved. If you are still having problems then please log out, clear cookies AND cache and log in again.

I think 2am is when the website performs routine maintenance and rebuilds indexes etc, so it will slow things down for a while.
On the one other board that I post on that has a "like" system, it has worked very well, in that anyone with a negative score can be dismissed as a know-nothing troll, and they generally either sort out their act and behave nicely or stop posting altogether. However it does rely on the fact that a person's "like" score is displayed under their avatar so everyone can easily see it. Of course just because it works well somewhere else doesn't mean that it will work here...
Reputation points are shown on people's profiles. It is hoped that this will rein in some of the confrontational and obnoxious posters who get personal in Off Topic - rather than get rid of Off Topic all together - which has been considered many many times.
I've seen systems like this before and all they serve to do is reinforce cliques. The site that springs to mind has recently moved to a "like only" type setup. People on there used to have competitions to see how -ve they could make someone, for fun.
I'm aware of the pack mentality, which is why the system can be openly monitored by mods & admins in case anyone is tempted to do that here.
-
As many will have noticed with this new forum we have had a 'like' system where we can , .......errr, 'like' another person's post/comment/witty remark/helpful advice etc. In order that we have a more balanced reputation system, I've pulled the giant lever on the server so we can now 'dislike' another's post if they are rude/insulting/stupid etc Moderators and admins have the ability to monitor the system if necessary.
