    Having just bought a Barefaced Compact, I'm in the same boat and 1/2 way to a lightweight rig. At two weekend gigs I ran it with my Eden WT550 for one and my Trace AH500 for the other. Both are heavier amps but with quite a powerful EQ which I like. I'm looking for a lightweight amp too and on my shortlist are the LM800, Orange Bass Terror BT500H (when it's in the shops) and Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. I'm eagerly awaiting hearing the Orange as 500watts into 8 ohms for £415 is a bargain and half the price of the LM800. Or maybe I should wait for the Orange Bass Terror BT1000H! :brow:

    Without knowing what the box was designed for, I guess either an Eminence Basslite CA2010 or CH2010 would do the job.

    IIRC Bill Fitmaurice suggests the Titans are best for live sound, and the Tubas are better for recorded sound - don't ask me why though! For a few dollars you can buy the Titan plans from Bill - I've got the plans for a Titan and it's quite an easy build.

    Depends whose nads you want to damage? On stage go for Mr Clabers fine products - a pair of Big One's, or build a pair of Mr Fitzmaurices fine products - a pair of coupled Titan 39's and power them with an amp with the balls to remove them! For the PA, just add lots more subwoofers to taste!

    On that diagram there is no earth wire to the jack socket earth. They are expecting the metal socket to make a good contact with ground via the metal control plate. Check your jack socket for a good earth contact, or run a ground link to it to be sure.

    Without knowing what sound you want, it's a bit hard to say! As a starting point, try a set of DR Sunbeams, that's what I use on my SR4. I also quite rate the Fatbeams too.

    My flatmate made this in the mid 1980's as his first cab build project. I've faithfully kept it for him in the spare room for years but it's time for it to go. It's in full working order, 2 x 8" speakers in the sealed top section and a 15" speaker in an 'experimental' ported enclosure below, standard jack out the back. It sounds ok for what it is and puts out some reasonable low end. I really can't remember what power handling the cab has or it's impedence, but am pretty sure all the speakers are 8 ohm and it has an internal passive crossover, which again seems to do it's job. It's 92 x 54 x 45 cms and weighs around 54kg. It has 2 x side handles and small trolley wheels. Maybe ideal for you to leave in your rehearsal space?     AFAIK all the Ashton gear is made in China, which can be a good or bad thing, it's all down to the materials and workmanship.
