1. I'm willing to paint it blue and write TARDIS on it if that would help the sale
2.
I'd be more worried about hamsters and other dozy rodents..........
I think I've just been dissed!
3. That's a cracking track on the DR website. His album "The Sun Don't Lie" is essential listening too.
4.
Looks good doesn't it? The port looks massive!
You should put a grill across to stop small children crawling inside - but I suppose you could always pop them out with a few low F[sup]#[/sup]'s if they got stuck
5. These guys made me a custom cover for a cab, it was delivered within 7 days of order and was really well made. http://www.amplifiercoversonline.com/zencart/index.php
6. Having just bought a Barefaced Compact, I'm in the same boat and 1/2 way to a lightweight rig. At two weekend gigs I ran it with my Eden WT550 for one and my Trace AH500 for the other. Both are heavier amps but with quite a powerful EQ which I like. I'm looking for a lightweight amp too and on my shortlist are the LM800, Orange Bass Terror BT500H (when it's in the shops) and Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. I'm eagerly awaiting hearing the Orange as 500watts into 8 ohms for £415 is a bargain and half the price of the LM800. Or maybe I should wait for the Orange Bass Terror BT1000H! :brow:
7. Without knowing what the box was designed for, I guess either an Eminence Basslite CA2010 or CH2010 would do the job.
8. IIRC Bill Fitmaurice suggests the Titans are best for live sound, and the Tubas are better for recorded sound - don't ask me why though! For a few dollars you can buy the Titan plans from Bill - I've got the plans for a Titan and it's quite an easy build.
9. Depends whose nads you want to damage? On stage go for Mr Clabers fine products - a pair of Big One's, or build a pair of Mr Fitzmaurices fine products - a pair of coupled Titan 39's and power them with an amp with the balls to remove them! For the PA, just add lots more subwoofers to taste!
10. On that diagram there is no earth wire to the jack socket earth. They are expecting the metal socket to make a good contact with ground via the metal control plate. Check your jack socket for a good earth contact, or run a ground link to it to be sure.
11. There's a pretty good guide here that's worth a read whilst waiting for personal recommendations! - http://www.ovnilab.com/

Hi All

Hi Krisstoff and welcome to the forums
13. Without knowing what sound you want, it's a bit hard to say! As a starting point, try a set of DR Sunbeams, that's what I use on my SR4. I also quite rate the Fatbeams too.
14. Which model Ashdown amp are you having the problems with?
15.
Bit out my price range .but they look great
Those are the RRP - you can shop around - http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/1423...eries-blue.html
16. My flatmate made this in the mid 1980's as his first cab build project. I've faithfully kept it for him in the spare room for years but it's time for it to go. It's in full working order, 2 x 8" speakers in the sealed top section and a 15" speaker in an 'experimental' ported enclosure below, standard jack out the back. It sounds ok for what it is and puts out some reasonable low end. I really can't remember what power handling the cab has or it's impedence, but am pretty sure all the speakers are 8 ohm and it has an internal passive crossover, which again seems to do it's job. It's 92 x 54 x 45 cms and weighs around 54kg. It has 2 x side handles and small trolley wheels. Maybe ideal for you to leave in your rehearsal space? Yours for £25 collected - all money raised to Basschat
17. AFAIK all the Ashton gear is made in China, which can be a good or bad thing, it's all down to the materials and workmanship. I don't know Ashton's availability over here but I'd have a serious look at these instead which are pretty good - http://www.jhs.co.uk/vintagebass.html
18. Russ did have a nice Barefaced Compact cab - all mine now - slick easy deal - Cheers!
19.
They are playing the Guildhall (a fantastic venue) in Southampton on Saturday 13th July (Doors 7-30pm)
You mean June? I'd like to go but I'm working too
20. I've always been happy with my Digitech BSW, and I'm gassing for a fretless so I'll let you know!
21.
There's going to be some amount of wailing, gnashing of teeth, hair-pulling & self flagellation about that over at RickResource. We should form a support group. Jon.
I wondered what the noise was - I rent them the shed at the end of my garden, poor buggers - I'll put the kettle on for them
22. Don't the fortress series have slimmer necks?
23. What better excuse to you need to get another bass! - You need a Stingray in your arsenal for sure
