Anyway, Peterson reign supreme... but give these a look in... http://www.turbo-tuner.com/
Interesting. At an accuracy within 2/100th of a cent, it's 150+ times more accurate than led/needle tuners - and more than 5 times more accurate than a Peterson?

Nice bass  What part of the country you in?
-
IMHO - and on a budget - the Korg DT-10 is more accurate with bass frequencies, and it does guitar fine too EDIT: I don't mean it's more accurate than a peterson

I love the DR strings - try Sunbeams or Fatbeams - I think you'll like them.

A few of us have started receiving PM's from either spambots or malicious new members which contain links to very suspicious sites. These sites are probably some kind of hacking / virus / malware etc attempt to infect your PC. Please report any dodgy PM's like this from members on this thread, and a Mod or Admin will take action. Cheers Hamster
I speak English and find that I have occasional problems understanding language used in Bass player magazine. In recent times they seem to increasingly refer to "props" and "the hang". What do they mean? On the new look of the magazine; larger print = less content. I suppose it's recession friendly!
"Props" = respect or acknowledgement of skill "the hang" = chilling out together or if you're English "props" = those big guys with no ears and no necks that play Rugby "the hang" = the end the baying mob hopes corrupt members of parliament will face!

Line 6 Lowdown 110 - excellent for a combo that's a 12" cube and weighs nothing. http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/1545...-110-1x-10.html
Sorry, but a half decent jazzer could do that as well on double bass. It's competent but nothing amazing. ..............runs for cover.........
I couldn't - I don't read enough jazz mags

Have a safe trip Steve - sorry I can't make the vodka party this afternoon - wishing you .........
This one stopped me in my tracks: http://www.bassmerchant.com/item_detail.ph...p;category_id=2
It will also stop you in your trunks if you try and lift it up a flight of stairs!
Why does (b bracket) come up as a smiley?
It's the unfortunate smiley code for sunglasses - B ) - but the lowercase also triggers it b ) which to me is a monacle or Leela's sunglasses Back on topic - OBBM
But it is exchange rate driven - GBP has totally devalued against EUR and USD. Although EUR/USD moved quite a lot a couple of years back the flow of currency from UK to US has stopped USD falling further vs EUR. Alex
Interesting - on that second graph it shows the blip at 3.24pm on a Wednesday afternoon in October when I kicked my mortgage advisor hard in the bollocks!

I couldn't find my loft hatch, but undeterred I broke through and found an old retired couple living there. They said they'd lived at flat 47 for the last 14 years!

VAT has been reduced, but if you work out the price paid for the bass PLUS the cost of shipping in dollars, convert that to GBP and multiple by 20% you should be within £20 or so of your doorstep price. [rant]The fact that I have to pay duty on shipping - a service sourced and provided outside of the UK - still irks me! Surely we should just pay the duty on the cost of shipping from import hub to door. [/rant]

Factory visit to Chris Celinder's workshop, Copenhagen
Hamster replied to Kiwi's topic in Build Diaries
cheers Rich, its still going to be second hand Celinders for me, for the time being I think. Although who knows what the future might hold? I would have done one on Jon Shukers workshop too but half the forum has probably visited there at some time or another
Thanks for the little peek inside his world! I think secondhand is as far as Celinders will get as buyers tend to hang onto them - I won't be able to justify buying one until they're at least fourteenth hand! - But thinking about that, that will involve perhaps a 28 year wait, by which time it will be a Vintage Celinder with Mojo and twice the original price - bugger! -
I'm sure that Bassbloke had a feedback thread - but I can't find it? I should have left feedback ages ago - and I thought I did! Anyway, I bought a couple of cabs from Bassbloke ages ago and he's a top friendly bass type bloke to deal with - and I was treated to tea and homemade biscuits!

If you have the skill to build your own, then Bill Fitzmaurice's designs are outstanding. For a £300 - £400 build cost you'll easily have something better than spending twice or three times that amount on a commercial offering. The plans are comprehensive and easy to follow, plus there's a lot of support on his forums for tech discussions. http://billfitzmaurice.net/

I've merged the feedback of "Chelios" into this thread, should anyone wonder where it went to.
