Could be a dry/breaking/broken joint on one of the cable connections either on the cable or on the rear panel. Maybe a blown output transistor? Try hooking up the cabs one into each channel on stereo (read the handbook first as I'm pretty sure there's an internal crossover, so send the lows to the 15"

best ways to ship a small package internationally
Hamster replied to fede162162's topic in General Discussion
i have to ship a small package in Italy, as big as...a dan brown book more or less! it wheights 1150 grams. i've found that with "airmail small packets" I can spend 6,91 pound, but i can't spot a "dimension guide". do you know what are the dimensions for this service? will I save money if I buy the shipping online with Royal mail?
"Length, width and depth combined must not be greater than - 900mm The greatest single dimension must not exceed - 600mm" I'm pretty sure you pay the same price as at the counter - but you don't have to queue as you pay for and print your own postage paid label. -

I've really enjoyed playing this as I got it as a taster for a Fender P. Excellent condition, low set up and plays like butter - fantastic quality for a P bass clone Strung with flats for a classic thumpy sound I can't find anything to fault this bass really Because it's so much easier and safer to ship with a hard case I'll include a free lined hard case which is in good nick In their own words:- Vintage V4 Bass Series Body: Eastern Poplar Neck: Hard Maple – Bolt On Fingerboard: Rosewood Scale: 34"/864mm Frets: 20 Neck Inlays: Pearloid Dot Tuners: Wilkinson® WJBL200 Bridge: Adjustable Pickups: Wilkinson® PB x 1 (M) WPB Hardware: Chrome Controls: 1 x Volume/ 1 x Tone V4 Pickup This classic ‘split coil’ pickup design, powered by Alnico V magnets for maximum low end tone, is very much in keeping with the authentic looks and feel of this style of versatile and capable bass guitar V4 Bridge The heart of a good bass sound lies with the string anchoring, and the V4’s bridge makes sure that’s the way it stays. Face mounted and fully adjustable, the rear loaded strings pass over the V4’s chunky brass bridge saddles for maximum bottom end tone. I'm not sure what the P&P will be - I'll have a look around the couriers to see who quotes me happy. £100

Due to a growing family of basses, I have to let this one go. A really nice example, it's had a proper setup and has a low action. Strung with a brand new set of DR Fatbeams - less than an hours play. Nice Abelone scratchplate, it looks a little lighter than it really is in the photos because daylight was shining on it and I can't take photos! Comes with an excellent condition lined Kinsman ABS bass case. A few little marks on the head, one little ding on the side of the fretboard but you never notice it. Not sure what the P&P will be - I'll have a look around the couriers to see who quotes me happy. £350 I've been asked for a couple more piccys:-

Wizards are a popular choice. There's also these - http://www.villex.com/pickups.html and these - http://www.nordstrandpickups.com/bass-pickups/index.shtml and these - http://www.delano.de/ All have had good things said about them, but the Wizards are certainly popular.

I load up everything in MP3 format onto a CD which I play in the car all the time, and do the same with an ipod. I play along with the track using a Korg PX4 putting the track and bass into headphones. I use 'amazing slowdowner' if there's a twiddly bit my ears just can't catch. I'm awful at improvisation so I just copy lines by rote. My new years resolution is to re-learn notation and have some lessons. That's just what works for me

Thought you were pretty good - well done!

JJ valves are pretty good. Forget the Mesa valves - they're just a cheap Chinese valve with a Mesa logo on them (although the Chinese QC is getting better) p.s. - A list of valve suppliers is in this thread - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=248

I'm a Sangrownun' by birth but the pub crawl has led me to Surrey at the moment! I actually cheated on the Omni15TB and bought it from David L Perry. I have all the components waiting to be glued together for an OmniTop 2x12 and a Titan39, but haven't got my finger out yet to build them Without checking the receipts, I'm guessing Bill's cabs cost between £150 - £300 each to put together depending on which one you choose to give birth to. If the trams still go as far as Preston you might want to PM David, but I'm not sure what cabs he's running ATM.

BEAD is a sound idea, and I don't spend a lot of time past C on the G string but it has been known, so it's just a dalliance for me I'm afraid.
found this site when searching for a new cab and wondered if anyone in here has one? if so how good are they?? http://barefacedbass.com/
I've heard one of Alex's cabs (albeit in a small room) and it sounded very good indeed. I would drop him a PM ( alexclaber ) and have a chat over a beer and a chequebook
